NEW STUDIO IN THE HOUSE: @ROWGATTA_NYC🚨🔥
For those of you who haven’t heard, there’s a new bootcamp-style studio on the block. Rowgatta opened up a couple months ago in UnSq and offers an intense 50 min sweat that’s half rowing, half bench work. We consider it to closely resemble Barry’s, but with the running component swapped for rowing. Each day of the week, there’s a different body focus during the strength training portion of class at Rowgatta - I did CORE day. The instructor guided us through various levels of power on the rower (much like one would with a treadmill), however you can totally go at your own pace. The workout switched off between this and the bench, where you are guided through a dynamic strength training portion.
VERDICT: This class was hard. I certainly pushed myself a TON during the rowing (and got better as class went on). In regards to the strength training, it was bootcamp style and challenging. I wasn’t sore or in pain the next day - (which i was happy about, soreness doesn’t always equate to effectiveness!) As you guys know, I do a ton of pilates - so maybe I’m just used to a lot of core work ... this might be diff for you!
The studio was really nice and stocked with amazing amenities (4 showers for women, 3 for men). There’s also a room where the workout is demo’d for the newbies, equipped with foam rollers and a theragun for a pre/post workout stretch. The staff were incredibly nice and welcoming. hi my pretty fitties 🌸💜🕊 I finally trained some leggiesss today without coughing up a lung *wooooohooo* got a little wheezzzyy, but we still alive ~ and half awake lol~ && feelin cute reppin all my favs heheh :p <3 ✨👼🏼🖤🌞 slowly going to ease my way back into my routine, 1. b/c I’m somewhat still sick, so I need to take it easy ~but feelin good enough to put in that weerrrkkk ;~) heheh~ and 2. b/c I’ve been out of routine for about a month now, but it’s ok cause we gettin back after it 🥳👏🏽 starting off with lighter weights to get back into my routine and even may switch up my split a bit. overworking my body due to the busyness of work and school life along w/ my training and other stresses, may be the reason I got so sick and haven’t been so “fitspo” that last month :// I just wanna make some gains and grow mentalllyyy okkk. A lot of hard work, a lot of discipline, a lot of times I wanted to give up and a whole lot of perseverance has gotten me to where I am today. By no means was this easy, I don’t want anyone who may be just starting out or maybe is struggling to find their place to ever think this was easy. Choosing me, putting myself first was freaken hard but man was it worth it.
#facetofacefriday means so much more then the physical changes. It’s how far I’ve come mentally to realize my worth, my purpose, and how much strength I truly have. I promise you will find happiness and you will do incredible things but it won’t be easy. The challenges you’ll face is what truly will define you. How you overcome those things truly will show you how strong you are. Wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, just keep putting YOU first and crush all of your goals 👏🏻💪🏻💥
I’ve been in a bit of a funk recently (I doubt I’m the only one). Perhaps it’s just the season changing... Perhaps it’s being away from @coltonccurtis again... Regardless, one thing that really lifts me up is a good old workout to sweat out my feelings 🙃💪🏼
