It takes 21 days to make or break a habit. They say. It may take lifelong.
::
I got stressed out about having to put something on Instagram every single day. It turned out that I sometimes posted something and wasn’t even happy about the content I created. I get the idea of letting go and not be attached to the outcome, but I figured I do care. What does this say about me or my actions?
::
I guess I can say that I am attached to the outcome, but I want to create something that I feel great about. And if I feel great about a creation, I can let go of the outcome. Another thing is, we cannot force creativity in some kind of sense. For me it needs to flow. It needs to feel good. And we cannot plan the moment it ‘feels good’.
::
It’s a nice challenge to try something for 100 days, it’s a hella long time. I’m letting it go for now. For today. And maybe letting it go for now is the answer.

Still summer. And it’s wonderful. But I must say, after have been living in warm climates for two years, I’m very looking forward to fall and winter. Happy to be back in a four season country!

    Growth - 20/100
::
Today was the first day at my new job and I loved it! New people, new place, new stories and a new beginning. This is growth. Getting out of our comfort zone and try something new. The universe always has your back.

    Daysy - 19/100
::
Got my first green light today! After using hormonal birth control for over 11 years, I can honestly say that using Daysy is the best option for me now. She learns your cycle by taking your basal body temperature and gives you a red (fertile) or a green (not fertile). So, no more hormones that goes into my body!
::
When I used hormonal birth control, I never questioned anything about it. I never asked myself what the consequences were, physically and mentally. I simply thought that I didn’t have another choice. We always have a choice sisters!

One of the things I love most in my life. Palm trees always have been a positive note in my life. You can imagine visiting Valle de Cocora in Colombia was like a dream coming true for me.

    Infinity - 13/100

How this is so true. Love conquers everything. Everything is infinite and we experience this through love. If we truly and deeply love unconditionally, we can let go of everything. And everything there is and ever will be, is love.

    Guatemala - 11/100
::
Spending a day dancing salsa with friends from Guatemala makes me miss the country even more. And I miss these rellenitos (plantains with refried beans inside).
::
Thanks to all the people who make it happen. To make life sometimes feel like a dream. A dream in which I’m awake and live the best moments of my life.

    Love - 10/100
::
Cappuccino love. With plantbased milk. Medellín gave me love. And I loved working.
::
When I slowly realized and learned that everything, but I mean everything, is our own responsibility, I started to love everything and everyone. And each day my love grows. Because unconditional love always wins. Always.

Nothing better than a good book sometimes. Especially after spending too much times on screens, culpa de La Casa de Papel..

But it’s been a very good day, because I got the job today! And it was 40 degrees outside, Celsius. Hallelujah.

    Arabic - 8/100
::
Started learning some basic Arabic today, thanks to Duolingo. I forgot for a hot second how fun it is to learn something new. After learning Spanish for quite a while, my interest has been sparked to pick up other languages too.
::
So here I am. Started to learn some letters without being detached to the outcome. It’s not about ‘getting there’, it’s about the journey. It’s about enjoying the things we do. It’s about being and following our heart. Doing what feels good. That’s what life’s about, for me.

    The Sims - 7/100
::
These days, when you’re playing The Sims 1 until 3:00am. We created a home for two male Sims who fell in love. One followed his career path, the other one found his passion in making garden gnomes.
::
I cannot see clearly anymore after this many hours nonstop game session. So I guess this post reflects my view right now, faded, pale and tired. Do not even know if this all makes sense, but that’s not important. I made it to day 7.

    Summer 6/100
::
This is my happy place. Biking back home after a day of hard work helping my cousin move house. The warming sun is slowly setting and it’s close to 28 degrees now instead of the 32 during the day.
::
These are the moments that I’m full with happiness and love and gratitude that I’m so fortunate to have such amazing family in my life.

    Amsterdam - 5/100
::
A day full of joy. Therefore I forgot to create something. Today I lived in the present moment and now it’s officially past midnight, but I count this one day 5 of 100.
::
Coming back to Amsterdam was coming home for a second time. An immense happy feeling is resting in my heart after dancing salsa and bachata again with the people I met when I lived in Amsterdam last year. It was a blessing to be back for a day.

    — I Just Need A Lul Discipline // "If we don't discipline ourselves, the world will do it for us" (William Feather) —  Day 21 of 100 Days of Creation⁣
⁣
I will be honest, my self-discipline can falter at times. I recognize that, and the first step to any form of personal improvement begins with awareness. Self-discipline is not something that is taught in school (this is intentional). We learn how to follow others, but we don't learn how to lead ourselves. If you can't lead yourself, quite frankly, you won't be an effective leader. ⁣
⁣
What I am learning as I float in the limbo that is post-grad is that I need more self-discipline. Genuinely, post-grad or not, we all could use a little more self-discipline. ⁣
⁣
But now the question is how do you develop self-discipline? This also a skill that I am currently improving on in myself. Here are some things that have been helping me through that process:⁣
⁣
1, Keep Track of Areas of Improvement // At the end of every month, I do an analysis of myself. I write down my successes, mistakes, strengths and weaknesses in that month. For my areas of improvement, I create small, realistic actions steps (1-3) that I can follow in the upcoming month to help to strengthen that area. ⁣
⁣
2, Accountability Partner (or Tribe) // The people you surround yourself with can either build you up or tear you down. My tribe, my close friends help hold me accountable and provide support and love, when I can't see the power in myself. Having my tribe around to remind me of what I am capable of can give me that extra boost of self-discipline and courage.⁣
⁣
3, Check Yourself // Yes, it is true, we should always be kind to ourselves, but don't hesitate to check yourself! We find it very easy to talk ourselves out of opportunities, yet find it VERY difficult to talk ourselves into them. In these moments, all it takes is putting your foot down, and giving your self a very stern talk, looking fear and doubt in the face and saying, "I don't care, I am doing it anyway."⁣
⁣
Hope this helps, and don't hesitate to share in the comments, what helps you maintain self-discipline. ⁣
⁣
As always: Peace, blessings and love! —  CRYS.

    — Struggling With Balance // "Time and balance the two most difficult things to have control over, yet they are both the things that we do control." (Catherine Pulsifer) — Day 9 of 100 Days of Creation.⁣
⁣
If I can be a little transparent with y’all. Balance has not been my friend for a little while. Juggling work, business and personal life has proven to be very exhausting.⁣
⁣
In this moment, I feel detached from my self, because I haven’t been able to truly put in time to developing my skills in my craft. ⁣
⁣
Maybe I thought when I graduated I would have all the time in the world, outside of work hours, to pursue my interests. Well, it didn’t. For some reason it feels like I still don’t have enough time in my day. To be quite honest, I don’t know what I thought balance was. ⁣
⁣
I am learning though that finding balance is not a destination — it is an ongoing journey. If you have any tips on how you remain balanced in the midst of the chaos, drop a comment below 👇🏾 Thank you in advance.

    We gather round a burning seed
Slowly learning what we need
It’s nothing you can trade for cash
In the end all that just turns into ash
When I look at the faces of the people around me
I feel the love and warmth that surrounds me
I see that every living soul
Has a story waiting to be told
A thousand hopes and desires
We lay upon this sacred fire
Those who make a sacrifice
Will take with them a bit more life
Because there’s nothing worth having that can’t regrow
Nothing here you don’t know
But still we gaze into those embers
Seeking to save what we remember
Each laying down our kindling
The words we write, the songs we sing
Hearts beating like a drum
In raw and rhythmic unison
In a circle we dance
I believe there’s a chance
We’ll uncover our forgotten bones
Find that seed sown long ago
Build ourselves a conscious culture
Grow a garden to feed the future
Like a beacon we spread the word
And let what must die be burned
Gather together on this Earth
To celebrate the great rebirth
Sharing with one another
As children, caring for our mother.
