Happy new year to everyone! After a 9 month break, I am back 😁. My intention was not to stop writing but I always found excuses and reasons as to why I am not able to post here.

I just want to share something interesting about style with you.
It is mportant to be consistent with the image you are trying to project when dressing up.
You cannot wear classic clothing with casual accessories ie,shoe,bags,jewelry, eyewear etc. Unless it's a style or fashion statement you want to make.
In this picture, you see me in 2 different sunglasses.
Both of them are nice and of good quality.
One is more appropriate for my church dress and pearl earrings than the other which is dramatic/casual looking.
The small rose gold Tory Burch in this case is suited for my Sunday church appearance than the gold rimmed Dolce and Gabbana which is more casual.
NB:A very good afternoon to all who wore dresses/Kaba and slit to church and still wore your boyfriend's big chain wrists and not a ladies watch.😜😜😜

We are all getting older and our bodies are breaking down according to two things 1) Our genetic makeup and 2) How we have been using our bodies as we age.

Yes your genetics play a major role in how you live, grow and even decline. We don’t all end up needing hip or knee replacements and that is mostly out of your control.
If you were an athlete for a long period of time, then you are more apt to break down according to the muscles and joints that you needed to use repeatedly to excel at your sport.

Now having said that, none of the above should be the reason why you are no longer active or cannot be successful with your health and fitness. You WILL get injured at some or multiple points in your life and you can do two things 1) stop moving and cry about it or 2) find ways to work around those injuries and keep living after you stop moving and crying about it.

If you decide to stop being active that doesn’t stop your body from breaking down and it will most likely speed up the process. We were built to move and hunt and gather things from the dawn of time and even though things have changed we still need to keep our bodies in motion.

If you decide to keep moving and not accept the inevitable changes in your body as a death sentence, then you will ideally be rewarded with a more fruitful life as an active lifestyle has more benefits to your mind and body than most people know.

The choice is yours but a failing body should NOT be the reason that you fail!

When I decided to have #weightlosssurgery I didn’t know where it would take me. Here I am today with Ford enjoying the cricket 🏏 and BEING INVOLVED! Exercise is seriously amazing.⁣

It has so many benefits for both your body and mind.⁣

And while I believe everyone should be exercising in a way they enjoy on a consistent basis, there’s a big difference between exercising for health, longevity, and enjoyment, and doing so to make your body look better.⁣

If you want want to be leaner, shapelier, or more toned, then there is absolutely one thing you must prioritize.⁣

And it’s not bootcamps, group classes, or hours on the cardio machines.⁣

It’s heavy (ish) strength training.⁣

Changing the composition of your body means you must build muscle and burn body fat. And the only way to do so is by continuously challenging yourself to get stronger and improve your performance over time.⁣

But it’s really difficult to do so when you aren’t following a program that is customized to your goals and doesn’t provide the right stimulus to make your body adapt in a positive way.⁣

This is the truth about exercising for physique change that not many people will tell you. They will have you believe that you can follow random swipe workouts, and perform exercises that look more like circus acts and continue seeing progress.⁣

But that’s some social media sorcery, not reality.⁣

Also, let go of the belief that your workouts are meant for burning calories (PS they don’t burn that many to begin with, no matter what your fitness tracker says).⁣

Lift weights to build, or at the very least maintain your muscle. And if fat loss is your goal, use your nutrition to create a calorie deficit that will allow you to lose the body fat.⁣

If you enjoy adding in some cardio, then go for it. But don’t expect to look any different if you aren’t first prioritizing strength training. ⁣

Train with purpose and intensity. Be consistent. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good because something is always better than nothing and it’s what creates momentum.⁣

And when in doubt, walk more, because it is an amazing recovery tool and the cure for just about everything.
