We can't change others. But we can change ourselves, and for some of us that might start with who we surround ourselves with.

I was talking with a coaching client just today about the power of who we surround ourselves with when we are trying to make a change or habit or lifestyle.
One of the best ways to successfully make a change is to start small, with a new habit. And a great way to improve the sustainability of that change is to surround yourself with people who share that habit, or value that lifestyle.

If you want to become more active, surround yourself with people who value being active.

If you want to be more positive in your mindset, surround yourself with people who have and share a positive mindset.

If you want to eat healthier, find the people who already do.

Just don't try to change the people around you to get on board with your goals. That won't work.

But maybe one day you will be that person who they want to surround themselves with to make that change.
Can you see the difference?

In the first case, it's you wanting to change others.

In the second, it's others finding their own motivation to change themselves .

Diary • 1 - I pretty much don't speak to any men on an intimate level anymore because it triggers my abandonment issues more than I can take. So until I get better, I'll just have to be deprived of love. It's not called being selfish. It's called being responsible & looking out for myself & others.

Oh yes -- & before I forget, I had a nice, hard cry tonight which actually sucked. I felt like death. Now...to bed! 🌬🌙 #bpd#eupd#mentalhealth#borderlinepersonalitydisorder

If I had listened to anorexia...
* I would not have gone to sixth form & met my incredible friends
* I would not have just had the best Christmas ever
* I would not have travelled around Europe for a month
* I would not have had the energy to work to save enough to move to London in March * I would not be volunteering in Vietnam right now having the time of my life
I was just casually sitting on a boat travelling down the Mekong Delta today when it hit me how much anorexia and disordered eating takes from you and your life - your thoughts are not true - they are lies, there’s a life beyond an eating disorder I promise you that 💙

Self Care Sunday does anyone try and do it? I've been reading quite a lot about trying to implement a bit more self care into my week. Tricky to do though when you're trying to keep so many plates spinning! For me I love nothing more than simply lighting a candle, reading an interiors magazine with a cup of tea and an early night in bed. What little self care rituals do you have? ⁠

My view is that Harry and Meghan have set an example to us all... whoever you are and whatever you’re born into, and no matter who you fall in love with, you can still determine your own path in life and make choices that feel right for you. After all, #EveryMindMatters and that includes theirs!

Feel I need to say this again as its around this time of January people start looking for results and getting frustrated if the scales arent moving!
.

Reasons why the scales can be very misleading when it comes to progress.
.
Once measurements are improving and you're feeling good about yourself, the scales should not have the huge impact that is does on some of us!
.
At the end of the day, nobody is going to look at you and say , oh my god you're so and so kilos, what they may say is , oh my god you look great have you lost weight / you look strong / you look lean / you look great etc etc!!
.
Progress can be different for everyone!
.
Measurements down = progress
Meaurements the same = progress
Feel better about myself = progress
Pizza guilt free = progress
Clothes fit better = progress
Getting stronger = progress
Confidence Up = progress
Enjoying exercise = progress
Ass looks great in those = progress 🤣🤣
.

Anyway i digress, here's 10 factors that influence the scales.
.
1. you ate more salt
2. you ate more the day before
3. you ate late last night
4. you're stressed
5. lack of sleep
6. you trained hard yesterday
7. doms
8. you need a trip to the toilet!
9. you're feeling bloated
10. just for the girls, you're period!
.
These all affect the scales but won't affect your wellbeing or your progress for too long!!
.
Do not be disheartened
Do not give up
Do not give yourself a time
But do keep going!!!
