    Stormy days. Weeks. Months. Different ones, beautiful ones. Fast ones and slow ones. I enjoyed the power of it. With all the colours it did show me. Ofcourse there were the calm after the storm moments. The silence. Sometimes far away but also more easy to reach out. It become more and more easy to hear it better, to feel it. .
In October I made the decision to start my own company, the best decision I made. Not that it is easy. Sometimes maybe it looks like playing and freedom with the photo’s I show. Yes lots of time it feels like that. Thats why I started ;) the kind of work I searched for. Every day different but also with more focus by growing and clearness. .
It’s like playing, trying en see what will happen. But it is also F*** scary, because I have to find out everything by myself, and then DO it. Luckily last year I had so much people around me. Family, old en new friends (some of them also entrepreneurs) and that helped me a lot. With practical stuff but also with confidence, positivity and inspiration. .
I hope you know who I mean, and otherwise you can expect some private mail soon!

The most difficult part is that I couldn’t hold back anymore. Had to go out. Meet people, being active on social media, showing my work and also showing myself. A big, intense but also a great proces. I learned so much in this year that is almost round. .

Ik krijg nog heel heel regelmatig in mijn dm vragen over mijn camera en lenzen. Ookal heb ik daar vaak al over verteld in mijn stories. (Zie highlight Q&A)

Maar omdat er vandaag ook weer drie dm’s waren met vragen over apparatuur hier mijn antwoord nogmaals.

Ik fotografeer met twee bodies. Beide Nikon D750 en daarnaast heb ik wel een hele rits aan lenzen maar deze twee zitten standaard op de bodies; de nikkor 85mm 1.8 en de sigma Art 35mm 1.4

Beide lichtsterke primelenzen die overal mee naar toe gaan. Maarrrrr ik maak ook veel foto’s met mijn iPhone. Niet voor klanten maar zeker wel voor mezelf!

    What would you tell your younger self about your career journey so far? I started my entrepreneurial journey fresh out of college at 22, but didn’t realize my creative dream with photography until 31. I was no spring chicken 🐣 But if I could go back in time + tell my college aged self one thing, it would be: entrepreneurship isn’t for the faint of heart, but you have a lot of support to lean on. If I knew that, I may have stopped doubting myself + jumped in even earlier! However, I am thankful for my long, winding journey because it made me into the businesswoman I am today. 1️⃣Personal branding, at it’s core, is about providing real VALUE. This can be in the form of entertaining people, sharing personal experiences, or offering your professional expertise. The goal is to enlighten, inspire, and serve your audience.

2️⃣Personal branding helps us become more self-aware. It’s one of the most enriching periods of self-discovery. It will ask you to dig deeper, assess your strengths, and do things that make you uncomfortable. (Since building my brand, I feel 10x more confident in who I am and how I help people. I’ve never known myself better than I do right now)

3️⃣You, yes YOU, have a unique story that people can benefit from hearing. I believe you actually disservice your community when that story goes left untold. What mistakes can you help people prevent? What obstacles can you help people overcome? How are you living better today then you were yesterday? When we are transparent with our audience, we make room for deeper connections and stronger relationships.

When done right, it’s is the opposite of self-promotion because it motivates us to share our expertise in a way that is selfless and seeks to give something back to the world - not just get something from our followers.

Precificação é um tema que dói na alma de qualquer empreendedor. Aquela mistura de “não sei quanto devo cobrar”, “tenho medo de estar caro demais”, “vou ter que diferenciar pelo preço em relação aos meus concorrentes porque não tenho muito tempo de negócio”, e por aí vai. É ou não é? ⁣
⁣
A pergunta do post traz duas questões fortes relacionadas a esse assunto: ⁣
⁣
❌ não conhecer o mercado é um problema, pois caro e barato é algo relativo. O mesmo preço pode ser caro e barato, e depende de quem vê, nas condições que se encontra. Faz parte do “valor percebido”: muitas vezes o preço pode ser “alto”, mas a pessoa paga por enxergar valor. Pra você chegar nisso, tem que passar muita segurança pra esse possível cliente. Pra isso acontecer, você tem que conhecer seu mercado como a palma da sua mão. ⁣
⁣
❌ medo de cobrar persegue a maior parte de quem empreende: tem total a ver com a sua autoestima! O medo é da recusa, da rejeição, e vai muito além de cifrões. Isso precisa ser trabalhado e você só saberá se tentar! ⁣
⁣
Claro que existem outras considerações a serem feitas na precificação, como tabela padrão do segmento (se existir), mão de obra, matéria prima (se aplicável), cobranças burocráticas, etc. Mas a raiz da questão está em (não) conhecimento do próprio mercado de atuação e esse medo que trava, aflige e não te deixa ir adiante.⁣

Isso se resolve, mais uma vez, com autoconhecimento. Quem se conhece confia em si próprio e encara o medo de frente. Importante é a tentativa, não o erro. E se “errar”, que vire aprendizado. Amém Britney 🌈⁣

    How to find your voice and define your personal brand. While watching the Netflix series #PatriotAct, I noticed how comedian @hasanminhaj leaned into his story of being Indian American, culture, customs, language, UC Davis, hate for UC Santa Cruz, love for sneakers, hip hop and basketball references.

He fully embraced every part of his narrative (good and bad) and it gave me the courage to do the same. I especially loved how it was all summed up in one simple graphic—#FaceChart (a pie chart illustrating your unique attributes). It was a brilliant summary of his personal brand. It inspired me to make my own and share with others my discovery.

Spend a few minutes to think about all the things that make you—unique. Celebrate the positive and the not so positive things about you and share your own #faceChart. People are looking for members of their tribe to join. Give them permission to be themselves.

    Have you ever had a goal so big that it scared the shit out of you?

Well this is my big scary goal. My biggest block was can I do this as a black woman.

Yep. I was letting my race hold me back and then a black woman that I knew very well had done this right before my eyes and she has now removed that fear for me.

Then my brain created a new fear and a new fear and a new fear.

Listen your brain is going to keep doing this shit until you face it head on and run straight to it and embrace what’s holding you back mentally.

I hired that woman! For the first time in my business career I hired a coach.

I always thought who’s was more creative, and strategic than me? Well, that was the wrong question that I was asking myself.

The bigger question was who has a stronger mind than me, who has conquered the fears I have right now, who is going to lead me head on to what’s scaring the crap out of me? That’s what I needed to fix and heal from. I hired @shamecatankerson because she is not going to give me a pass because I am @audriarichmond. If you think I’m dope now, you are right. But I would say, I’m only operating at about 10% of my capacity.

What do you think is going to happen when she gets done with me?

My mindset is already changing. My rates have already increased. More importantly I’m facing the fear that’s keeping me from celebrating my first $100,000 month. The closest I have come to this this goal is $35,000 in 1 month. I went from multi-six figure years to six figures in 5 months this year. I’m ready to reinvent and meet the new Audria. It’s happening. #unclonedlife

P.S. This my accountability so I can have proof of how much my mind is going to change.
