Flexion knee gapping is a technique where an object is placed in the hinge (back) of the knee and the joint is closed (flexed) over it. The object acts as a wedge, gapping the joint as the knee is brought into full flexion. Essentially, gapping is a self mobilisation technique you can try in order to make your joints more mobile/flexible (in this case, the knee) 👨‍🎓🤓

Causes of KNEE PAIN
.
Below, we have listed a brief description of potential causes of knee pain:
.
Distal iliotibial band syndrome – This typically presents as pain in the outside of the knee. Tenderness may also occur, along with a reduction in the mobility of the knee.
.
Patellar Tendonitis – This presents as pain below the knee cap. This condition is also called "jumper's knee."
.
Patellofemoral syndrome – A condition where trauma or overuse results in inflammation that affects the kneecap. Some refer to this as "runner's knee"
.
Torn Meniscus – When these structures are damaged, it causes excess pressure to be placed on surrounding cartilage, ultimately leading to wear and tear. This can also be accompanied by swelling, clicking, popping, or locking of the knee joint.
.
ACL Tear – Twisting to the knee may cause the ACL to overstretch or tear. This can result in significant pain, instability of the knee, as well as interference with mobility, and day-to-day activities.
.
Prepatellar bursitis – Irritation to the bursa, a small part of the knee that is located in front of the patella (kneecap), can lead to inflammation. In addition to the swelling, pain may also develop.

Insightful learning, it's been about a year or more since I enrolled in this course by @thebiomechanicsmethod and I finally completed it.

Learning about how the body functions as a global network rather than a local network and how a dysfunction can send problems upstream and downstream.

en->Ida the tree has escaped from the Kirazlı Gold Mine massacre, by breaking her chains with an ax she took from the workers. Trying to reach the city, she met some friendly humans near Çanakkale seaside.
She told them about the forests pain. “A giant wound is skinned on Mother Nature. Many of my brothers and sisters are butchered. The squirrels lost their homes. Birds can’t find any bushes to nest. There are no flowers for the bees. Frogs and turtles lost their hidden shrines. Even snakes and worms can’t find any earth to shelter. Many hoomans don’t care about the wild animals and the plants, but this sulphurous blood will poison the hoomans too. Maybe they will care.” So they walked together along the shore to the city plaza to tell the people of the Çanakkale about the giant wound. They decided they can care that wounds on the earth and stop the blood together, only if animals and plants can have a home again.

Onlara ormanda yaşananları anlattı. “Kardeşlerim baltalarla testerelerle katledildi. Makineler Toprak Ana’da dev bir yara sıyırdı. Sincaplar evlerini kaybetti. kuşların yuva yapacak çalı bulamıyorlar. Arılara hiç çiçek kalmadı. Kurbağaların ve kaplumbağaların yüzdüğü gizli pınarların kayboldu. Yılanlarla solucanlar için bile örtünecek toprak yok. İnsancıklar doğayı çok önemsemiyor ama bu yaradan kükürtlü bir kan akıyor. Bu onları da zehirleyecek. Su içemeyecekler. В общей сумме ставится 20 рекомендуемых мер политики по повышению уровня физической активности. 🔸Разработанная концепция допускает адаптацию мер с учетом политики и условий каждой страны. Также учитывается, что данные меры по повышению уровня физической активности подходят для любого человека, любого возраста, независимо от возможностей человека, условий повышения уровня ежедневной физической активности дома, на работе, в учебных заведениях, в рамках местных сообществ.

Shaking up the nervous system and retraining. This beautiful professional ballet dancer, @reginadupont is #trainingsmart after achilles tendinitis and ankle sprains. Letting go of old movement patterns not serving her and repatterning new ones so she can dance (successfully and pain free) for decades to come.
We are challenging Regina’s new alignment and proper muscle recruitment by standing on @physicalmind ‘s Mini Parasetter. We are focused on proper ribcage placement and it’s relationship to neutral pelvis, disassociating humerus from ribcage, not hyper-extending standing leg and recruiting more hamstring, maintaining and stabilizing external rotation with lateral rotators and adductors. This was her first go on the Minis and she killed it!
To all my lovely dancer friends balancing on Bosus, challenge yourself to not hyper-extend in knees or elbows & fight for proper ribcage placement (no popping ribcages and hyper-extended thoracic spines dumping into lumbar). Especially, if using weights over head. As Regina and I discussed today, your body will thank you in the years to come!

Working on some power generation from a deep knee flexion position off of both inside edge (video 1) and outside edge (video 2) with @oliviervernon54 out in Cleveland ❄️⛄️🤣

Here we are looking for good triple extension through the power leg and high power generation. Great way to restore or improve strength and power in the transverse plane. Like they say, “power lives in the transverse plane”.

Meet #1704 or cub #19! What do we name this little boy that hails from Maple Ridge? He was admitted on October 22nd and arrived at a mere 12.4kgs.
This poor little orphan was all alone and no one knows what happened to his mama. It took quite the effort to capture him, but persistence paid off when they finally secured him to the safety of Critter Care.
After he was admitted we had to take him to Dr Ken for a bear check up and tend to a very minor little cut.
This is the first cub of our fall group, and today he is the biggest, the boldest and definitely the dominate male of the group. He also has a white marking on his chest and staff describe his as a gorgeous bear cub!
We are tired of this cub being referred to and #19, so would you like to help us find him a name?
Today, is the first day and first cub of the "I Can Bearly Wait For Christmas Fun-draiser Countdown." We will be introducing each of our recent group of cubbies, one at the time and giving you some background on them. On the day of introduction - just enter your name suggestion in the comment box, and share the post publicly on your own feed, letting your audience know what name you picked. (Be persuasive, and maybe they will vote the same way 🙂 That’s all for day one - Vote and Share!
Day 2, we will post the top two suggestions on a poll and YOU get to pick the name of our cub! The names selected will be based on staff feedback (after all they do work with them so they will know if a name fits them or not), the amount of sharing you do, originality (only in terms of not duplicating bear names). What is the fundraising about? Well, we seriously need to finish the 4th bear enclosure, so this group of little cubs have a proper home during the time they spend with us. We simple don’t have enough funding yet, and donating (if you can, but it is not required to participate) will help. By sharing our posts, you will help us get the word out there. Sharing and donating is an opportunity to gift our black bears a home, so they have a second chance at life back in the wild. We have 24 cubs so far this year, so the need is urgent. Para mim, a prática baseada em evidências tinha que ter 4 pernas, e não 3.
👉 A Prática Baseada em Evidências na fisioterapia, muito comentada em tempos de ânsia de se liberar injetáveis ainda sem comprovação robusta de sua eficácia, como PRP ou Ozônio, a grosso modo é definida de fato como:
👉 1. Melhor evidência disponível SOBRE O DESFECHO E DESORDEM que se quer tratar,
▪️ Somada a [e tem que somar, tem que ter as 3 variáveis]:
👉 2. Expertise do profissional EM REPLICAR AQUELA EVIDÊNCIA na prática clínica [e não EXPERIÊNCIA DE ANOS de clínica ou anos de “na minha prática funciona”];
▪️ Somada a [e tem que somar, tem que ter as 3 variáveis]:
👉 3. Preferência do paciente [não adianta por exemplo a acupuntura ter evidência para aquilo que quer tratar e você replicar bem a literatura de ponta se o paciente tem medo de agulhas].
❗️Os três pés tem que estar presentes. Faltou um, NÃO SERÁ PBE. Simples assim🤷🏼‍♂️
👉 Mas eu acrescentaria mais um pé neste tripé, que poderia fazer parte da “experiência”, mas é tão importante que merece um destaque.

🎥 No vídeo, uma reconstrução de ligamentos laterais do tornozelo em que para ter um treinamento sensório motor relevante [repetições, equilíbrio e mudanças bruscas de posição do salto frontal variando para queda lateral], associado ao de força [excêntricos em superfície maleável] eu tento bolar coisas simples pensando em ciência, preferência e expertise.
