🌿The conundrum of healing. The wound that has festered for so long. The pain that seems to multiply just by breathing. It’s private. It’s personal. And yet, we cry out. Silently, from the shame of what happened, the shame that isn't ours. We want to remain hidden. And sometimes, we really do need that time apart, to tend to what bleeds within it. Comforting, but with our own hands. 🌿 Prioritizing yourself is hard. Making self-care an important part of the day can be difficult. But I think it’s one of the most important things you can do for yourself and take back control. 🌿 I need soft throw pillows. An even softer blanket. Hot tea. A good show to watch or, on a really good day, a book to read. What's your self-care recipe?

II. Behavioral Strategies

1. Meditate to promote mindfulness. Your mind simply cannot become calm, confident and clear, if you do not pay attention to paying attention: • You can’t stop boredom from bothering you if you don’t realize you’re checking out in the first place. • You can’t overcome avoidance if you don’t recognize you’re dreading reality this very moment. • You can’t practice steps to feel calm if you don’t listen to your body’s stress signals.

2. Be where you are. One of my favorite anxiety hacks is giving 100% of my attention to the task at hand.
III. Healthy Lifestyle Habits

1. Breathe. Slow and deep breathing is the cornerstone of calm. Start by breathing in and out slowly. After a few seconds practice the 4-4-4: Inhale for a count of four, hold for a count of four, then exhale for a count of four. Let the breath flow in and out effortlessly. Repeat four times.

2. Drink more water. Dehydration may affect anxiety in a variety of ways.

3. Make sleep a priority. Our culture celebrates those who work hard and play hard, but there’s a price. If you’re irritable, sluggish, and drained, chances are you’re sleep deprived.

I enjoyed a wonderful weekend away with my family last weekend. Left all my problems and anxiety behind for a few days. I also celebrated my first ever wedding aniversary with my husband which was really nice! ❤️ He is my anker when it comes to my anxiety. He doesn't allways understand it and I do get on his nerves alot because of it! But he is there for me. He holds me when my anxiety gets the better of me and I break down, he tells me everything will be ok and we will get through it. He also fustrates me when he refuses to understand me 🙄 I can't help the way I feel and the thoughts I have! It's nothing I can just "turn off". I get really scared sometimes and feel alone with my problems. We are so different in so many ways but think alike alot too. Sometimes I just need a big hug to recharge my battery. I am very good at hiding my feelings especialy when I know the other person has enough on his plate allready and I don't want to add to it. It's not allways fair but that's me. I give alot even if I dont get the same amount back. (Generally speaking) We are going through a tough time right now but that doesn't mean we don't love eachother and will just give up. We both have our seperate problems which also cross over to our relationship. Sometimes it does get tough in a relationship and that's when you really have work on eachother. One year of marriage but 8 years of love. A long time with so many good memories. We also had tough times but we allways remembered what is really important to us and that is our love for eachother. We can make eachother so angry but if one really needs the other, you are there for them no matter what. At the end of the day we say sorry, hug, kiss and go to bed together and that is really important ❤️ We both have our faults and nobody is perfect.
I just love him 🥰

#anxiety is more than just worrying.
Anxiety is the restless nights of #sleep , as you toss and turn. It’s your brain never being able to shut off. It’s the thoughts you #overthink before bedtime and all of your worst #fears become a reality in #dreams & #nightmares
It’s waking up #tired even though your day just started.
Anxiety is learning how to function with #sleepdeprivation because it took you until 2 am to shut your eyes
It’s every text you wonder ‘how do I word this properly?’ It’s a double or triple text in case you messed up. Anxiety is answering texts embarrassingly fast.
Anxiety is the time you spend waiting for an answer as a scenario plays out in your mind of what they could be thinking or are they #mad ?
Anxiety is an unanswered text that kills you inside even though you tell yourself, ‘maybe they’re busy or will answer later.’ Anxiety is that critical voice that says ‘maybe they’re deliberately ignoring you.’ It’s believing every negative scenario you can come up with.
Anxiety is #waiting It always feels like you’re waiting. It’s the inaccurate conclusions drawn as your mind takes off and you have no choice but to follow it’s destructive lead.
Anxiety is apologizing for things that don’t even require the words, ‘I’m sorry.’
Anxiety is #selfdoubt and a lack of confidence both in you, yourself and those around you. Anxiety is being hyper aware of everyone and everything. So much so, you can tell if there’s a shift in someone merely by their tone or word choice.
Anxiety is ruining relationships before they even begin. It tells you, ‘you’re wrong, they don’t like you, they’re going to leave.’ Then you jump to conclusions.
Anxiety is a constant state of #worrying and #panicking and being on the edge. It’s irrational fears. It’s thinking too much, it’s caring too much. Because the root of people with anxiety is #caring

Anxiety is the restless nights of #sleep , as you toss and turn. It’s your brain never being able to shut off. It’s the thoughts you #overthink before bedtime and all of your worst #fears become a reality in #dreams & #nightmares 
It’s waking up #tired even though your day just started.
Anxiety is learning how to function with #sleepdeprivation because it took you until 2 am to shut your eyes
It’s every text you wonder ‘how do I word this properly?’ It’s a double or triple text in case you messed up. Anxiety is answering texts embarrassingly fast.
Anxiety is the time you spend waiting for an answer as a scenario plays out in your mind of what they could be thinking or are they #mad ?
Anxiety is an unanswered text that kills you inside even though you tell yourself, ‘maybe they’re busy or will answer later.’ Anxiety is that critical voice that says ‘maybe they’re deliberately ignoring you.’ It’s believing every negative scenario you can come up with.
Anxiety is #waiting It always feels like you’re waiting. It’s the inaccurate conclusions drawn as your mind takes off and you have no choice but to follow it’s destructive lead.
Anxiety is apologizing for things that don’t even require the words, ‘I’m sorry.’
Anxiety is #selfdoubt and a lack of confidence both in you, yourself and those around you. Anxiety is being hyper aware of everyone and everything. So much so, you can tell if there’s a shift in someone merely by their tone or word choice.
Anxiety is ruining relationships before they even begin. It tells you, ‘you’re wrong, they don’t like you, they’re going to leave.’ Then you jump to conclusions.
Anxiety is a constant state of #worrying and #panicking and being on the edge. It’s irrational fears. It’s thinking too much, it’s caring too much. Because the root of people with anxiety is #caring

I found shards of glass at the bottom -
they’d been there a while.
Some cut my feet
while others took light
and bounced it back up.
It showed me the way out;
it felt like a tall reach.
I climbed up rough branches
that stuck out the sides like nails.
Along the way, I met a furry caterpillar
who told me to hang on,
that all dark things turn bright,
that all small things take up space.

1.) In this house, we sling allll the babies 🙌🏻 It’s the only way I stay sane and have a happy baby + two hands to work with. Or, in this photo, wrangle a toddler/newborn combo through Hobby Lobby & TJ Maxx without losing my sanity. If you’re an expecting mama, new mama, or know one of the two that you need a gift for...I highly recommend ordering a @wildbird sling. With Hassell, I had no idea what to purchase and used a cheap one off Amazon. These slings are sooooo much comfier (for me and Sallie Jayne), plus they provide a TON more support.

2.) Hobby Lobby planners are life for me currently. If you need an affordable (like $15) planner that rivals Erin Condren (in my opinion—I’ve had both), you should totally check out your local #HobbyLobby 😬

3.) I’m currently still obsessed with the pumpkin muffins I shared about a week ago. Do yourself a favor and go save the photo with Hassell making them. The recipe (easiest ever) is there. You won’t regret it!

4.) My current personal development book is Girl, Stop Apologizing. I absolutely loved Girl, Wash Your Face (by @msrachelhollis ), so I started this one earlier in the week. I’m loving it so far and can’t wait to give you a full review later 👌🏻 What’s on your Fall reading list? What have you read and loved? I need some new book ideas! Happy Friday, friends. The part of the brain that senses danger, starts the fight flight freeze response, anxiety. This comes on because it's sensed a danger perceived or real, it sends a message to your adrenal glands for stress hormones, you feel edgy, the adrenalin is on. Your amygdala also needs to continue scanning for danger. To judge if the danger is over.

'Are we safe yet? not sure so I will keep focused for negative/danger.'

This is a natural human response that has helped to keep the humam race alive all this time. We need it, it's doing a good job. If we are overly stressed with worries, & our bodies are not getting what it needs this can be a cause for anxiety, rightly so, we won't be doing well if we are compromising the mind & body. This is a danger to your health & wellbeing.

So most of us are operating at a level of stress & not really eating well for ourselves. We can help that by reducing stress, eating a balanced diet.

THE THOUGHTS!
When you ask yourself to stop thinking of something. It's a signal to the brain that reads a bit like this.

When we cannot change the cause of our suffering, many of us continue to blame the other person or situation. This may provide us with some relief, at least for a while. But what happens when trying to change the other has failed and continuing to blame is not actually making us feel better either?

Where do we go when we have run out of moves? -
Freedom from the whole blaming/fixing cycle, ironically, comes from moving our attention away from the other person/problem that is to blame/fix, and turning that attention onto ourselves
