Want to make your piano playing INSTANTLY sound more dramatic and moody?

I have four awesome arpeggio patterns that will do just that.

Some are easier than others -- but any one of them will change the sound of your playing.

Which one is your favorite? Comment to let me know!

Today we check out some of my favorite hacks for minor and major arpeggios - link to full YouTube lesson in bio! There we check out how to use them in a practical context. By changing just one note in each shape we get a totally different sound! We use everything we learned about the modes, chord tensions, exotic scales and more here and I hope you see that all this knowledge is connected! By knowing just a little bit about music theory you save many hours of learning shapes without understanding them. Do you use arpeggios for your songwriting and solos? 🎸

Today we check out how to visualize arpeggios within scales - we add the third, fifth and seventh to every scale degree and only use notes from the scale/key we are playing in. You will be able to accent chord changes quickly and construct harmonically interesting phrases when you learn to see these shapes while improvising. The full lesson is online in the Patreon bonus archive, as a full member you get access to over 4 hours of lessons, tabs, sheets and more. Click the link in my bio to check it out 🎸

Today we check out a speed picking workout that highlights my approach of combining technique and theory in my practice plan – full tutorial is online on YouTube, link in bio! Here we arrange the phrasing in a way that aligns with the system of using only one picking angle, more on the mechanical aspect can be seen on YouTube. For a little music theory challenge we change a note in the aeolian scale with every repetition of the exercise and work with the phrygian, dorian and harmonic minor sound too. That way you combine those 2 topics quite well, I always try my best to keep the most mechanical and boring workouts musical and creative in certain ways 🎸

Today we check out different ways of spicing up power chords – full YouTube lesson link in bio! By extending the perfect fifth and adding different suspenseful and interesting intervals instead of only octaves we get some pretty unique sounds. The main goal of this lesson is to inspire you a bit to use different sounds and colors for your songwriting. There is nothing wrong with the rightfully named power chords, they are the backbone of so many iconic songs – but there is also no real color or interesting tonality to them. They don't sound sad, happy, dissonant, exotic, oriental or anything like that. Sometimes adding these intervals really serves the mood and atmosphere of your song perfectly and I hope that these voicings will be useful for you in the future! Tabs for this lesson are online on Patreon as always 🎸

Had an absolute blast playing 4 sold out open air shows last week, celebrating the new Austrian chart topping @seilerundspeer record - very proud of what we achieved as a band in the last couple of years and the current show we put together - happy to be a part of this journey! 2 more shows until it's time to record my next in-depth online course following in the footsteps of '10 Steps to Modern Shredding' in September, looking forward to this challenge once again 🎸

WHAT ? YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO MIX ARPEGGIOS TOGETHER ? Well let me tell you how to make a delicious Maj7 #arpeggio soup by mincing and mixing two sweep picked arpeggios, a minor arpeggio🔵 and a major one🔶.
▫️
The result is a great sounding arpeggio that uses a string skipping shape with a tapping pattern on the A, G and high e strings, it is made of the notes of the two arpeggios but the two notes on the D and B strings are played by tapping them one string lower than in their original sweeping shape.
▫️
As always, if there's a question on your mind don't hesitate to leave it in the comments, I like answering them 😄🎸🔥
