It has been waaaay too long between professional pedicures! It really makes me see how badly I do my own pedi's 😂 .
Had a pedicure date with my mum and sisters today 💅. I feel like we need to make it a regular thing cause it was super relaxing and I feel so much better from something so simple and something I have kind of overlooked since before Little Miss arrived. It was good cause we went in pairs so someone was able to watch the bub outside without her inhaling any fumes... Plus also giving mumma a bit of a break!

Tomorrow I plan to devote to housework. Balance. Something that I am aiming to get better at. .
Trying to think of other little self care style tips that I can throw into the mix of mum life and house work. Any ideas?? 💡 .
Oh and I know I need to get some sun on my pale pale legs haha. 💕

Maybe I wouldnt have to ensure that my future daughters / sons /nieces / nephews arent subjected to eating disorders and body dismorphia - because there will no "ideal body type " to constantly measure up to. *

Yoga is the practice of creating harmony between mind and body. When there's a disconnect between mind and body, our lives move out of balance, causing stress, fatigue and occasionally, illness. When you combine your mind and body through yoga, the reverse occurs. Your body can start to heal and re-balance naturally, helping you to feel healthier, happier and more alive.

I re-discovered yoga through my own health crisis. My body was so out of balance that it actually broke down, leaving me bedridden and exhausted. Though at the time it was a painful way to learn that I needed to be kinder to my body, the experience caused me to focus on the key elements for creating long lasting health and wellness. As I practiced yoga, I learned how to reconnect with my body and myself. Not only did I heal myself I went on to complete YTT so that I can teach others the amazing benefits of Yoga 🤍

How working part-time is going so far ☼ this year, I chose to take a pay cut to work four days a week, slow down, have more time, and put my energy into what and who gives me joy. It’s not going to be midday wines every week, but that’s the point: I can choose how I spend my time, relax and take it slow. And that, to me, is priceless.

Simply Soulful Sundays - Feeling overwhelmed? I know I am. There seems to be a push to help us rid ourselves of what we are to have left in the last decade in order for us to make space for this new one. If it feels like to much to quickly, remember time and space is actually on your side. There isn't the urgency that feels thrust upon us to get things done. You will be better equipped to pass through things and accomplish more if you take the time to balance the yin and the yang of things. Force yourself to slow down, take a breather. Believe 🌸

Day 18 on the mat for #ywahome and for what may honestly be the first time, Cromwell crawled up to lay on me??? I really wasn’t sure this practice was going to happen because I don’t know how anyone willingly gives up belly time kitty purrs. 🐈 but alas, we made it.

What day for “believe.” Believe in magic. Believe in love. Believe in myself. That has literally been the theme for today. These late night practices are not my jam but they’re the only way I can fit the time. It starts to bum me, and burn me, out to have to cope with these shifts. But then early this evening, someone I love to the ends of this earth and respect the utmost took time out of their day to say they’re proud of me, that I’m incredible, that I’m amazing. 💕 I realized I really needed to hear it.

This morning was our annual gift exchange and we spent hours together as a chosen family, laughing and loving and celebrating and I felt so full. I believed in magic, the magic of this life and of this time. Right now.

We all come to yoga for one reason or another. One of the things we find through the physical practice is how wealthy we are with the gift of our bodies. It carries us through this life, it interacts with the external world through our senses and we cannot have these experiences without it.

If our bodies should be seen with Sampath(wealth), why do so many of us treat it as if it's a Bāram(burden)?

The yoga sutrā II.17 gives us us insight as to why this is...
.
There are 2 separate entities of our being. The Drasta(the seer, permanent, the soul) and Drsya(the body, the impermanent, the form). The inability to distinguish the difference between these two aspects of ourselves is the fundamental cause of our unhappiness. -D.V. Sridhar

He has taught me that we become very attached to our physical form and it's capabilities and we make decisions based on our external senses/circumstances. If we are able to tap into our Drasta(Seer) and allow it to lead in our decision making, we can move towards the actions that will give us the life we desire to live. We are not just our bodies. Everything about our physical form is temporary. It is important to keep it healthy, but our soul needs nurturing too.

У него родился сын и астролог сразу же делает гороскоп, чтобы понимать кто к нам пришёл. "Твой сын очень быстро оставит это тело". Конечно отцу больно слышать об этом. И мудрец понимая о том, что мы не есть это тело, что душа пришла и у нее не так много времени, решает научить самому важному. Выражать почтение каждому.
Астролог ушел. Отец воспитывает сына, своим примером. Я преподам хотя бы один урок сыну, и он попадет в более высокие миры. Проходит время, астролог возвращается в эту деревню, смотрит молодой человек, такой красивый, уже полный сил. Он его страшивает: "Чей будешь?". Молодой человек отвечает: "Сын такого -то мудреца." Астролог задумался, не я ли ему гороскоп составлял, он же должен был уже тело покинуть? Очень странно, почему так произошло. Неужели я плохой астролог?" Так как это был высокого уровня мудрец-астролог, он решил проверить. И говорит: "Я хотел бы тебя пригласить к Ямараджу, Богу смерти на даршан. Мне очень хотелась бы пообщаться с ним на счёт тебя. Потому что, похоже либо я плохой астролог, либо что-то такое произошло, чего я не могу понять." И вот они приходят к Ямараджу. И как только Ямарадж выходит, сын с таким почтением Ему в ноги кланяется и видно что он это делает не формально, а все свое сердце подносит к Его стопам и говорит: "Дорогой Ямарадж, для меня эта такая честь, что я Вас вижу." У него столько рождается благодарственных слов. Ямарадж поднимает руку и говорит: "Долгой жизни тебе сынок." И тогда астролог понял, что он обсалютно каждому выражает почтение. И естественно, когда к каждому так подходят, естественным образом рождается благословение. "И тебя все благословляли, - и теперь астролог понял, - Ты пошел за пределы своей кармы, потому что тебя все благословляли. そして、自分の中でやるだけやった、と思えたら、たとえ失敗しても挫折はしないのかもしれない。

失敗、上手くいかなかったことって、じゃあ次はどこをどうすればいいか、何を変えていけばいいかを学べるだけ。
上手くいかなかった理由が見えてくる、実は、とてもありがた~いことだと思う。

本当の意味で自分を信じられているかどうか。

One of the most pivotal steps toward becoming more resilient is understanding and accepting the fact that we make mistakes and refusing to punish ourselves when we’ve missed the mark. This self-forgiveness keeps us from becoming too rigid when something goes wrong. When we realize that not everything goes according to plan, we’re better prepared to pivot, to adjust, to recalibrate. ⁠

We’re not invincible. Sometimes life throws us curveballs and no amount of resilience can help us weather the storm. In those moments of struggle, it’s important to ask for help. If you get to a place of such peace and freedom - (and yes you can still care about your wellness and feeling good!) - your body will do exactly what it’s meant to.

So stop the obsession around manipulating and forcing your body into a certain size you think it should be and allow your body to do its thing.

Once the tense energy that is wrapped around a memory is released, this past moment goes from being a point of difficulty to an experience that teaches us to not allow such things to happen in the future or that change is a natural part of life that should not cause us misery.

Deep healing happens when we engage the subconscious and start releasing the patterns that are cluttered in there. Though our conditioning and emotional history may seem hardened to the point that it feels permanent, it actually isn't. The mind is always changing and it is malleable enough to move it in a different direction.

Tough moments are a natural outcome when are in a process of letting go. Putting effort into choosing new behaviors and releasing old bundled up emotions can temporarily cause imbalance. It takes a great deal of courage to unbind our old conditioning. Questioning what we have held firm for years and expanding our perspective beyond the grasp of our emotions into the realm of objective truth is no easy task. With equanimity the process becomes smoother.

Everything is always changing, which means that pain cannot last forever. Letting go requires a process of purification, a tool or practice that challenges us, but does not overwhelm us.

To be committed to our freedom is to say no to fear and yes to honesty. Fear is the maker of stories that lead us into delusion. Honesty is the revealer of attachments that hold us back from embracing truth.
