Book Week Parade day is ‘the very best school day ever, even better than all of the other school days there’s ever been’. Apparently. (I have to agree.) 📚🐛 I got VERY specific instructions how to make him the Polar Bear from #TheVeryHungryBear and had the best helper on hand too! I love this stuff a little too much. 😍 #BookWeek #Bookworm

¡Buen Martes!
⠀
¿Alguno lo leyó? ¿Leyeron los otros? Quiero saber que opinan, los leo💗.⠀

QOTD: Can you remember the name of a book that made you cry? ⁣
⁣
AOTD: The caption box isn’t big enough for me to list all of them. 😂 I’m an emotional person, and when books are written well they ruin me. The Infernal Devices for example, this series made me ugly cry so bad. At one point I curled up with the book and sobbed… I wish I was joking! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂⁣
⁣
Did you know I rep for the extremely beautiful human that runs @bellesbooksleeves ⁣
My code is MANIAC12 and you can checkout with that to save on some squishy sleeves. 😍 ⁣
⁣
Reading Update: 《YES I HAVE ONE WAHOO!》 Okay so I love Ronan Lynch, he’s beautiful and fierce and my heart breaks for him and I’ll fight you if you say anything bad about him m'kay… and I bite! 😬😂 ⁣
Now that that’s settled, I’d also like to confess that I love Gansey and Adam is bugging me, like if he died at this very moment I wouldn’t care. I hope he redeems himself because I did like him. ⁣
Also, I have NO IDEA where the story is going. Don’t you just bloody love that?! ⁣
⁣
I know I said this already but, I read the first chapter of A Heart so Fierce and Broken and UGH! It was perfect. I need more. 😭⁣
⁣
On an unrelated to anything bookish note I think I sprained my ankle while sitting down today… That’s a new level of disastrous for me I’m telling ya! 🤦🏻‍♀️⁣

I’m on my sixth book this month. Almost done with High Performance Habits and love it. Make Your Bed was more of a documentary than anything else. The Four Agreements was wonderful for family focus. The Four Hour Work Week is full of effective habits for entrepreneurs. Get Over Your Damn Self is intended for multi-level marketing sales. And the Algebra of Happiness is good recentering all around. So far, it’s been a great month of learning. #bookworm #alwayslearning #mycommuteismylibrary

Found this at a thrift store for $2...everybody say amen. I can’t wait to read Michelle Obama’s Becoming! I love her voice as a woman and leader, and am always interested in her life. Oh how I miss her 😩⠀
⠀
How is your week going so far? I feel like there’s a rain cloud over me currently but hopefully the rest of the week will be smooth sailing 🤞🏼

Hey everyone! Guess who’s cursed? 😂 If you don’t like medical stuff or if you may be triggered please don’t read the rest of this post. .

I thought it was fitting to do another Sabrina post 🤷🏻‍♀️ So if you’ve been keeping up with my Stories you will know that I haven’t been feeling well since Thursday. I have a doctors appointment next week so hopefully that is productive. But why am I saying I’m cursed? Well, my bookish lovies, I had to go to the ER so they could butterfly my finger (we thought it was much worse, it’s ok haha). Why? Well, I cut myself trying to de-pit an avocado 🥑 The knife slipped juuuuust a bit and cut my one finger. This finger also must be cursed because when I was 9 I cut it on the pad of my finger while helping my dad make stuffed clams. Only twice have I ever had an accident like this... And both times on the same finger... .
.
But I was DETERMINED to post today so HERE we are 😉 So here I am! Also, this Sabrina bookmark is from @knightmaresdaydreams and you can use my code DREAM10 to save 😏 She’s releasing some Halloween designs coming and 😍 I’m so excited .
.
Bye for now! .

    Altra lettura finita!

Scott Weiland - Not Dead & Not for Sale
Goodreads 3.44
Blurb : As the lead singer of the Stone Temple Pilots (1986-2003, 2008-), Scott Weiland won two Grammys and fronted a grunge band that has sold over 18 million records. During that tumultuous period, however, his record also included several arrests for drugs and DUI. Since breaking his addiction to heroin in 2002, the California-born musician has performed with the multiplatinum group Velvet Revolver and reunited with the group he helped make famous. Not Dead & Not for Sale is Weiland's starkly honest memoir of the highs and lows of his bipolar life. This book is timely, arriving on the heels of Stone Temple Pilots tour and the release of their first album since 2001. The memoir was written with the assistance of David Ritz, the only four-time winner of the Gleason Music Book Award.

“On visiting day, he told her he was okay but sad, it was difficult but he was hanging in there, when all he wanted to say was, Look at what they did to me, look at what they did to me” 📖
.
.
Just finished “The Nickel Boys” and I have no words. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
.
.
Synopsis: As the Civil Rights movement begins to reach the black enclave of Frenchtown in segregated Tallahassee, Elwood Curtis takes the words of Dr. Martin Luther King to heart: He is "as good as anyone." Abandoned by his parents, but kept on the straight and narrow by his grandmother, Elwood is about to enroll in the local black college. But for a black boy in the Jim Crow South of the early 1960s, one innocent mistake is enough to destroy the future. Elwood is sentenced to a juvenile reformatory called the Nickel Academy, whose mission statement says it provides "physical, intellectual and moral training" so the delinquent boys in their charge can become "honorable and honest men." In reality, the Nickel Academy is a grotesque chamber of horrors where the sadistic staff beats and sexually abuses the students, corrupt officials and locals steal food and supplies, and any boy who resists is likely to disappear "out back." Stunned to find himself in such a vicious environment, Elwood tries to hold onto Dr. King's ringing assertion "Throw us in jail and we will still love you." His friend Turner thinks Elwood is worse than naive, that the world is crooked, and that the only way to survive is to scheme and avoid trouble. The tension between Elwood's ideals and Turner's skepticism leads to a decision whose repercussions will echo down the decades. Formed in the crucible of the evils Jim Crow wrought, the boys' fates will be determined by what they endured at the Nickel Academy.
Based on the real story of a reform school in Florida that operated for one hundred and eleven years and warped the lives of thousands of children, The Nickel Boys is a devastating, driven narrative that showcases a great American novelist writing at the height of his powers.

    RESENHA | Entre Gravetos e Ossos | Seanan McGuire | @editoramorrobranco
•
•
•

    RESENHA | Entre Gravetos e Ossos | Seanan McGuire | @editoramorrobranco

I woke up this morning wanting to get out of my routine and do something fun. I started by making a citrus packed pineapple, orange, lemon, and grapefruit smoothie which I usually make in the winter months for its immune boosting antioxidant properties. Then I called a couple friends and asked if they were free to so something day which I never do. I'm never the one who suggests a group hangout, I can't remember the last time I actually did that and was happy while doing it. After I searched for any new book stories, art galleries, and restaurants because when we do go out it's to the same three spots and I'm tired of them. I want to take advantage of what's left of summer, I don't want to look back in November when it's cold and dark outside and regret not taking advantage of all this sun and warmth. I can't believe we're days away from September! Seriously, where did this year go!

How is your summer so far? Did you enjoy it? What's something you want to do before fall arrives? I'm hoping for a quick roadtrip before the month ends. I hope you're having a relaxing week 💕 #selfcare #pocketofmyhome #cupsinframe #booksandbeans #culturetripbooks

Beginnings are hard as endings are often bitter. If I stretch it further, I might be inclined to say it only seems hard because it means something. And if it means something, it’s already meant something and will continue to long after you’ve ceased to. If you’re at a beginning, trust that it’ll be alright. If you’re approaching an end, know it’ll be alright. And if you’re somewhere in between, it’s alright here too
