Besides the fact that running is not an option for me because I want to avoid knee pain, there are other reasons why I enjoy HIIT (high intensity interval training) as my form of cardio! -You can burn an incredible amount of calories in a short time. -Your metabolic rate slightly increases in the hours after. -Improves Oxygen consumption. .
HIIT is a „cardio“ session arranged in short bursts of hard work. It’s efficient, effective and can be done anywhere! .
Push yourself EVERY SET. Complete 20-30 seconds for each exercise, back-to-back. Equaling ~80 seconds of work, followed by 60-90 seconds of rest. Push yourself to complete 5 Rounds! .

Today’s workout session was much needed! I miss the gym so much! This past week I was extremely busy with work and didn’t get much free time but today I made sure I went and I went hard!! Burned 521 Calories 🔥 205 floors!! Felt amazing!! I also did legs which is my favorite 🏋🏻‍♀️🍑 Remember to make time for your workouts. Thanks to my nutrition I was able to stay on track with my weight. Can’t wait to keep transforming and to slay 2020 with my results 💪 Let’s keep growing my loves! Fact: Wolff's Law...: " A bone in a healthy person or animal will adapt to the loads under which it is placed." Wikipedia
Wolff''s law, in fitness terms, is known as progessive overload. Which is the gradual increase of stress placed upon the body during exercise. When you lift heavy weight, your muscles have to build more fibers to handle the increased loads placed upon them....while at the sametime, your body also builds stronger tissue and bones to adapt to the heavier loads.

Better late than never, right? Just 1 mile today because it’s been awhile. Hopefully a kickstart to my obsession with running. A little over a year ago, I switched to a new work shift, which changed my wake up time to 4:30 a.m. 😩 It has really thrown my body off and I’m usually exhausted (like all the time). I know...excuses...but I’m going to try and get back into running. these two types of training are used interchangeably all the time. And while they do have some similarities, they also have some key differences. And if you are putting them into the same bucket-you could be missing out on the benefits you might get from TRULY performing one as its meant to be vs. the other.

WHAT?
CIRCUIT TRAINING:
✨originally designed with a group training, and “get in and get out,” atmosphere in mind.
✨full body training system geared towards building muscle as well as raising heart-rate.
✨series of exercises (weighted or unweighted) designed to get you the most amount of work in the least amount of time, using work periods followed by little/no rest.
HIIT.
✨originally designed for athletes who have a lot of “stop and go” action in their game. Help them to produce max energy output for short durations of time.
✨training system where you work at a higher intensity for short period of time-followed by a duration of rest-usually lasts longer than work period.

HOW?
CIRCUIT TRAINING:
✨a series of exercises-usually 4+.
✨perform exercises in circuit (one right after another) for whatever given time is: 30-1 hour usually.
✨very little to no rest between exercises. ✨50-70% effort on each exercise-ensure you have enough energy to go right into the next piece of work.
✨pick movements that will work entire body.
HIIT:
✨operative word: HIGH INTENSITY.
✨CAN be done with multiple exercises, but typically not done with strength movements. Can be done with just 1 movement you can really go ALL OUT in (think sprinting, rowing, biking).

Even though it’s cold out, I still love to take walks on the beach. I also love to bring my @blessedprotein shake with me on the go for something delicious incase I get thirsty.😋 Chocolate coconut for the win🥥 They have a ton of different flavors to try out too!

3 States. 3 days. 3 runs. 3 different seasons. LOL. 🌴🍁❄️

An interesting 3 days to say the least. LOL. To cap off my 85 mile week, it began like this. Left Florida Friday evening. Landed in Charlotte, NC around 9pm, only to have my flight to Rochester canceled. They put me up in a hotel that night near the airport.🙏🏼 Attempted to get my long run done in NC before my flight left Saturday. Got lost like 6 times ha. Had to cut it short to make it to the airport to catch my flight. Make it to DC. That flight gets delayed for reasons which can only be described as comical.🥴 Finally make it home. Throw on the running shoes and finish 3 additional miles in a storm to complete my 21 mile run. Go home. Pass out. 13 more miles today in temps which seem way colder than normal along with 25+ mph winds after being in the humidity of Florida for over a week. Fun times! Get it in any way you can I guess?!🤷🏻‍♂️ 5 weeks till Houston. Let’s go! Enjoy the new week my friends. 🏃🏻‍♂️🤘🏼
