Another big win for Denis, this time over Miomir Kecmanovic 6-2, 6-3 in the Round of 16. Shapo is back in his 1st ATP QUARTERFINAL since Lyon in May! He’ll play the very in-form Andrey Rublev next...
🔸Date: Thursday, August 22
🔸Time: NB 7:00pm Local
🔸Center Court
🔸H2H: 1-1
🔸Recent Meeting: Miami ‘19
Shapo defeated Rublev 6-3, 7-6(5) during his run to the SF of Miami. Rublev is a dangerous opponent and has been playing solid tennis the past few months. He took out Roger Federer last week in Cincinnati on his way to the QF.
It will be a tough match but Denis has played amazing tennis this week. He’s been one of the best players in North Carolina, not dropping a set and winning 24 out of 35 games. He seems to be loving the conditions.
More importantly, it’s great to see Denis enjoying life on the court again, looking very confident and focused.
Have a great match Shapo! You got this. 🐺💪

Reaching as high as @atptour No. 20 in his own professional competitive career, @tursunov_tales now is coaching @sabalenka_aryna of Belarus 🇧🇾 and working to help the 2018 @wta Newcomer of the Year recognize when to be serious and, just as importantly, when to have fun 😜 #CincyTennis
