We must be in a calorie deficit. A calorie deficit is a condition in which your body burns more calories than it consumes. This means that individuals who want to be (or need to be) in a calorie deficit have to manage their energy balance (energy in versus energy out). If calories in are lower than calories out, an individual will be in a calorie deficit and will be able to reduce bodyweight / body fat over time.
Samantha also forgot number 2:
Eat a good amount of protein, usually 1-2 grams per kilogram of bodyweight per day (or 0.5 lbs for lbs of bodyweight). This is helpful as it keeps you satiated for longer. It also supports muscle protein synthesis and has other benefits.
We also don’t need to go on a diet to lose body fat / bodyweight. Why?
Because all of us have our own diet already, it just needs a bit of adjusting, keeping in mind number 1 and 2 above and part of what Samantha wrote.

Swipe for the melt! 🤤 [PORRIDGE AL BURRO D'ARACHIDI CON MELE ALLA CANNELLA E BANANE]

È nata l'ennesima fissa. Questo porridge al burro di arachidi è buonissimo e ci vogliono solo 5 minuti per prepararlo. E quindi è perfetto per chi, come me, nei giorni buoni mette la cucina a soqquadro per preparare cose che manco Cannavacciuolo e nei giorni no vorrebbe limitarsi al massimo a girare la rotella del microonde.
Quindi:
- 20 gr farina d'avena istantanea al burro di arachidi;
- 20 gr fiocchi d'avena;
- 80 gr bevanda alla mandorla;
- 80 gr di acqua.
Tutto in un pentolino, come per qualsiasi porridge.

Sopra:
- mezza mela cotta al microonde con un po' di cannella;
- fettine di banana;
- fettine di mela croccante;
- un quadratino di cioccolato fondente;
- un cucchiaino di burro di arachidi crunchy;
- semi di chia.

Ci ho messo più a scriverlo che a farlo.

You will need:
-2 cups of flour (you can substitute it with almond flour)
-2 cups of mashed avocados
-3 eggs
-1/2 cup of coconut cream
-3/4 almond milk
-1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
-15 large, Medjool dates finely chopped
-2 tsp of baking powder
-1 tsp of baking soda
-60 grams of unsweetened chocolate

-Preheat the oven to 356 F
-Mash the avocados (1 1/2 cups), put it in a food processor, add the eggs, almond milk (1/2 cup), coconut cream, cocoa powder (1/3 cup) and vanilla extract. Blend it until the batter is smooth, combine the flour, chopped dates (10 of them), baking powder and blend it again
-Once it is well combined, fill the mixture in your pre-greased baking tray, and bake for 35 minutes. -To make the frosting, melt the chocolate in the microwave, blend the rest of the avocado, dates, cocoa powder and almond milk. Once the mixture is well-blended, add the melted chocolate and mix again.

Una evidente anoressia è il segnale del fenomeno mentre il ritorno dell'appetito coincide con la ripresa di attività del pancreas. People ask me all the time, why nursing? Why health and life coaching? ⁣

You see, I have this ability to detach my emotions from most situations (personal or not) and see things for exactly what they are, from an outsiders perspective. ⁣
I see things with clarity, and call the situation for what it is. ⁣
Whether that be good or bad, and have an inability to sit back and watch things unfold, if and when there is an opportunity to change or guide the outcome in a more desirable direction (when needed). ⁣

Majority of my family and friends come to me when they have a problem for these exact reasons.⁣ Sometimes I’m the ‘voice of reason’ and the ‘fixer’ ,and sometimes (and I quote majority of my family members, if not all) I’m the “bitch” who tells it straight. 😂😂⁣

But.. ⁣

I’ll also be the support they need when they want to take a chance and jump head first with their eyes closed into the unknown and crazy.. and when everyone else is telling them otherwise.. ⁣

And You’ll find me there clapping and cheering for them regardless, just for the simple fact they took a chance, because in that exact moment they are LIVING, they are EVOLVING and they are GROWING. ⁣
And fuck me that is glorious to see! ✨⁣

Not because they did a backflip,⁣
landed on their ass and snapped their neck.. ⁣

So long story short.. why coaching? ⁣

This weeks breakfast. Scans at 7 points. I take the cheese off since I don’t eat cheese so it’s probably more like 5 or 6 points but I’ll still count as 7. (I’d rather over count than under count). The cheese was very easy to take off since it’s not melted on. Ho usato 100 g di yogurt greco trublend alla fragola, 30 g di farina di avena integrale, 30 g di farina integrale, un pochino di lievito istantaneo e dolcificante.
Ho mescolato gli ingredienti secchi e poi ho aggiunto lo yogurt e ho formato un impasto piuttosto molle ma maneggiabile.
Ho poi mescolato dell’intera sultanina che avevo precedentemente messo a bagno e poi strizzato.
Cotto in forno a 180 g x 15/20 minuti.

✨M I N D F U L E A T I N G ✨I promised myself when I left for this trip that I would eat and drink whatever I desired without any guilt and I have done. What this has reinforced is that when you truly live without restriction what you desire isn’t pizza and ice cream for every meal, it’s a wholesome breakfast, a gorgeous Buddha bowl for lunch and then a couple of divine banana pancakes for dessert, some tapas for dinner and a cocktail or two. .
This sounds obvious and for most it is but for people that adopt a very restrictive diet it can be scary to completely let go of these restrictions for fear of binge eating. .

Mindful / intuitive eating is so important for good digestion, weight control and overall wellness and something that as a huge foody I have been trying to practice this year. It teaches you to rid yourself of restrictions and eat what your body craves (which I promise you won’t be as bad as you think) but it also teaches you to stop eating when you feel full, continuing is something that people don’t actually realise they’re doing because they aren’t being mindful. 🌸

How are y’all feeling? Now that we’re getting into the new year and falling back into a routine, I know many of us (ahem, ME 🙋🏼‍♀️) may be finding it hard to juggle everything that comes with life and sticking to the goals we’ve set for the new year.⁣

For me, trying to balance work, school, training, and mental health & happiness has had me going bonkers 🤪 (hence my lack of posts I’m sowwy 😩)⁣

BUT in expressing these feelings of going crazy and not being able to handle everything, I’ve been reminded by a number of incredible people in my life that it is completely normal to feel overwhelmed by life at times, and that the best way to navigate and cope with such feelings is to realign your actions with your priorities. To put it simply, this means simply focusing on what matters most to YOU and acting only in ways that benefit your well being and ability to adequately tend to such things.⁣

And (I cannot stress this enough) no matter what your goals and priorities may be, make SURE that one of them is your own emotional and physical health. I cannot tell you how many clients I work with who simply say they “don’t have time” to properly care for themselves. ⁣

Y’all.. YES YOU DO 😩 because without a healthy grasp on your own emotional and physical health, you cannot possibly be your best self in any other realm. If you find yourself feeling like you don’t have time for such things, just remember that. Your life can only flourish if you do, and that requires having control of your emotional and physical wellbeing. ⁣

And with that, be sure you take time for YOU in this coming week. Self-love and self-care is beyond crucial to good health. ⁣

This place was in my to do list since a really long time. Finally it happened and the famous place surpassed my expectations.

We started with this delicious looking as well as tasting Taco salad (chicken). Made up of the perfectly fried chicken, crispy taco chips, beautifully cut veggies and refreshing sauces, this one is the apt healthy+delicious meal! The quantity is adequate as well and you wish you can have such stuff as a part of your everyday meal... .

Moving on, second in the line was the Lobster Mac as our main course. The huge lobster pieces cooked really well with the Pasta, egg yolk, mayonnaise and sauces and of course, tremendous cheese made it a lobster lover’s go to dish!

Stay tuned, for the third and the last one, ‘the dessert’ !

I have made a delicious Salted Caramel Button Marble Cake. This fantastic looking cake was made in a beautiful Nordic Ware Non Stick Jubilee Cake Loaf pan. (Available at John Lewis & Partners product code 81313611). I made the cake by covering half of the inside of the tin in tasty salted caramel sponge and half in a light coloured sponge. Then I put blobs of salted caramel sponge and light coloured sponge in random patterns. I crushed up milk chocolate and white chocolate Cadbury’s buttons and sprinkled them on, I built up the cake in layers randomly sprinkling on the delicious milk and white chocolate. This produced a lovely effect on the inside of the cake.
I wanted to make the cake stand out, so I have decorated the outside with white and milk chocolate, which really helps with the design of the cake. To finish off the gorgeous cake I have used some bronze crunch, which really stands out.

I have made a beautiful yellow rose bouquet out of cakes !!
I used some wrapping paper and a ribbon to make the flower bouquet box.
This would make one fantastic gift or a perfect centrepiece to a table. The gorgeous yellow roses have delicious salted caramel hint in the buttercream.
I wanted to make the roses seem really realistic so you would have have to have a second look to see if they are flowers or delicious cakes. The roses were made to look more real by blending four hints of shades of fabulous yellow coloured buttercream together. The fantastic part of blending the buttercream is every rose will be unique in its colouring !
I made the delicious sponge cakes in a Fantastic Silpat Nonstick 12 cup muffin / Yorkshire pudding mould. Available from John Lewis product code (81315806)

To mix the buttercream I used a Kenwood Kmix Stand mixer. The mixer has a 1000w of power so it can mix the buttercream with ease. Available in four colours from John Lewis & partners product code 85543217.

The weather outside is wet and cold, you can always cheer yourselves up with a splash of colour. I have made some delicious rose and hydrangea cupcakes that brighten up any room.
I made the gorgeous cupcakes in a Silpat Non-stick classic muffin / Yorkshire pudding mould. (Available at John Lewis & partners product code 81315806). Fantastic to use and you can even make cupcakes without the cases which is better for the environment.
I also used a beautiful almond cream 175 Kitchen Aid mixer to mix my delicious salted caramel flavoured buttercream in. (Available at John Lewis & partners product code 85543708)

This is fantastic Tear and Share Cinnamon roll, cooked in a brilliant Circulon Sauteuse pan. A fantastic idea to have at the centre of the table and it is so delicious !

A simple and delicious vegetable side dish that’s is so good you will want to eat it as your main 🤤⁣

📝INGREDIENTS📝⁣
(For 4 servings)⁣
4 oz runner bean(100 g)⁣
15 oz broccoli(100 g)⁣
15 oz gnocchi(500 g)⁣
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese(100 g)⁣
1 cup grated parmesan cheese(100 g)⁣
3 tbsp single cream(50 mL)⁣
1 tsp pepper⁣

👨‍🍳PREPARATION👩‍🍳⁣
1. Preheat the oven to 350F(180C).⁣
2. Bring some water to the boil in a saucepan and boil the runner beans and broccoli for 2-3 minutes.⁣
3. Take them out of the water and set aside.⁣

4 oz runner bean(100 g)⁣
15 oz broccoli(100 g)⁣
15 oz gnocchi(500 g)⁣
1 cup grated mozzarella cheese(100 g)⁣

3 tbsp single cream(50 mL)⁣

Salad can be hearty, folks! So there is no excuse when our winter brains tell us that it seems like such a summery luxury. This week’s lunch will be full of roasted beets, sweet potatoes, kale and cashews to make us strong and goat cheese, dried cherries and balsamic to make us happy.⠀

You'll need:⠀
3 large golden or red beets, cubed⠀
3 medium sweet potatoes, cubed⠀
olive oil and salt for roasting⠀
1 cup wild rice, uncooked⠀
1/2 cup dried cherries⠀
8–10 cups of shredded kale⠀
3/4 cup crumbled goat cheese⠀
3/4 cup pistachios⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Roast your beets and sweet potatoes with a little bit of olive oil in a 425-degree oven for 30 mins. Cook your wild rice. Whisk up your dressing with 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar, 1 cup olive oil, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional but creamy), 1 teaspoon salt, and 2 teaspoons Dijon.⠀

Fluffy Banana Pancakes 🥞 My favorite pancake recipe with some bananas, @purely_elizabeth granola, and Pb drizzled on top 😍 This stack is the full recipe but I only ate 2 1/2 of the actual pancakes + shared with Eli 😊 Sharing is caring... I guess haha. I would’ve rather been selfish and saved them for later but marriage is all about being selfless sometimes 😜

Can kids eat too much fruit? If your child won't eat veggies, make sure and fill in some of the nutritional gaps with fruit (not fruit juice) while they are learning to like veggies. Just because fruit is sweet doesn't mean that it is the same as an added-sugar dessert. Fruit is loaded with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. When I serve fruit, I let my kids eat their fill (unless I run out 😉). ⁠⠀

Fruit juice is NOT a whole fruit. I recommend serving water and milk as normal beverages and serving juice only occasionally and after the age of 2. If you choose to serve juice regularly, keep it to 4 oz of fruit juice or less per day. ⁠⠀ ——
