I had to create one more recipe to celebrate National Hot Tea Month! I love to sip on tea, but why not reap its health benefits in a new way by eating this creamy nut butter!? I’ve partnered up with the Tea Council of the USA to bring you this amazing recipe.

1 cup sliced almonds
1/2 cup crushed pecans
1 black tea bag (cut open and place tea leaves into food processor)

Cook our Asparagus Goat Cheese Frittata AHP 628⁠⠀

6 Eggs⁠⠀
1/2 lb Asparagus⁠⠀
Goat Cheese⁠⠀
Basil⁠⠀
Shallot ⁠⠀
⁠⠀

Olive Oil⁠⠀
Celtic Salt⁠⠀
Red Pepper Flakes⁠⠀

Directions: ⁠⠀
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Thinly slice the shallot and dice up the asparagus discarding the woody stems. Add to an oven safe skillet over medium heat with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of celtic salt and red pepper flakes. Cook for 6-7 minutes stirring occasionally.⁠⠀
In the meantime, whisk together the eggs, 1 tbsp of olive oil and a pinch of celtic salt and red pepper flakes.⁠⠀
Add the eggs into the skillet and sprinkle with thinly sliced basil (reserve a little for garnish) and goat cheese. Let cook for a minute or two to set and then transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for about 5 minutes or until the frittata is set but not browning on top.⁠⠀
Remove the skillet from the oven and let cool for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a cutting board.⁠⠀
Slice and garnish with a little bit of fresh basil and serve! ⁠⠀

•gluten free overnight pumpkin pie oats and goat's milk blueberry keifer•

i am working on healing my gut still. i am three years into it now and still not there, but i am always trying to find things i can eat that won't cause bloating and inflammation, and also finding foods that help build the good gut bacteria i lost. of course oats are naturally gluten free, but if they are processed in a facility with other grains then there is a possibility of cross contamination from what i understand. so to be on the safe side, i tend to buy "gluten free" oats. this goat's milk keifer is locally made by goat farmers and only sweetened with blueberries and maple syrup. the woman who runs their booth at our farmers market is sweet enough to give us the bottles that are near bursting because of the amount of live active cultures in them. it has kind of a champagne taste when it's this live, so cheers! 😂 she is trying to help me heal my gut and i am so grateful. fingers crossed 2020 is my breakthrough year in gut healing! .

Ingredients (for 2 servings)⠀
1 lb chicken (455 g), cubed⠀
1 teaspoon salt⠀
1 teaspoon pepper⠀
1 cup broccoli (150 g), chopped⠀
1 cup bell pepper (100 g), diced⠀
STIR-FRY SAUCE⠀
½ cup soy sauce (120 mL)⠀
¼ cup honey (85 g)⠀
2 cloves garlic⠀
1 teaspoon ginger⠀
1 tablespoon sesame seed⠀

Preparation⠀
Mix together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.⠀
Heat oil over a nonstick pan and add chicken stirring until cooked.⠀
Pour sauce in pan and stir to coat meat.⠀
Once the sauce is bubbling, add the veggies to the pan and stir again to coat.⠀
Cook until meat is cooked through and veggies are soft.⠀
Serve over rice or alone.⠀

Drinking green smoothies every day will not offset chronic stress. ⁣

Doing a detox twice a year will not replenish months of poor sleep. ⁣

The highest quality supplements in the world cannot replace a nutrient deficient diet. ⁣

Cutting out half the food groups will not make up for avoiding moving our bodies regularly.⁣

Before buying the latest supplement, detox teas or expensive reset programs, it’s helpful (and in my opinion, absolutely necessary), to do an honest check in to see if we have the foundations of health in place, first and foremost.⁣

Eating foods that make your body, mind and soul say "thank you" - feels so dang good.⁣

I broke the fast today with chia pudding and fruit. Pecans, too. Whether you buy organic, or not, I recommend washing your fruit. Just set it and forget it ((for 15 minutes)), then rinse well in a fine mesh strainer and enjoy.

Anyone else notice that when they are on vacation or traveling you can digest food better than at home? Many of my clients who have dairy, wheat or egg sensitivities can eat these foods in foreign countries with no problems. Yes, food such as dairy and wheat are a bit less processed abroad than in the U.S. but a BIG factor to better digestion when on vacation is LESS STRESS.
Stress plays a huge role in how our bodies digest food, our cravings and how hungry we are throughout the day. Stress is lower when you are on vacation and the only thing you have to worry about is finding the closest beach in Costa Rica or the best pasta place in Italy. When we are living our lives back home, we are inundated with the daily stressors of work, relationships, money, etc.
Do you notice a difference in your digestion when you travel? Better or worse?

Looking for meal prep ideas for this week? I GATCHU. I recently tried @fullgreen.official ‘s vegi rices and GUYS Im OBSESSED!! It is simply 𝐩𝐫𝐞-𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐯𝐞𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 such as cauliflower, broccoli, or sweet potato but they are all ✔️NON-GMO
✔️ORGANIC
✔️Lower carb
✔️PALEO, AIP, SCD, KETO, and VEGAN friendly
✔️ REAL FOOD BASED- the only ingredient is the vegetable
✔️no added sugars, preservatives, or chemicals🙌🏻 AND they are pre-cooked so saving you major time in the kitchen
AND they do not need refrigeration 👏🏼👏🏼⁣

I used the cauliflower rice blend to make 𝐚 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐦 “𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨”⁣

To make the risotto...⁣
1. Melt coconut oil in a sauté pan⁣
2. Add fresh ginger and a little garlic (less for more sensitive tummies, onion would be great if you can tolerate it)⁣
3. Add sliced organic mushrooms and sauté until soft⁣
4. Add @vegirice cauli rice and mix into mushrooms⁣
5. Add 1 tbsp coconut aminos (a soy sauce alternative) and sea salt to taste⁣

I paired with steamed spinach, a mushroom + turkey burger, and pickled beets😋 ENJOY!

Zum puren essen zu weit, aber zum backen perfekt 🤗 Bananenbrot ist da eine super Sache, denn es geht schnell, hat super Nährwerte und schmeckt einfach 😍 Diese Variante kommt ohne Mehl und extra Zucker aus und passt somit auch bei low carblern mal rein. Yum yum! Good ‘ole bowl for lunch today. Tricolored quinoa, sautéed kale, roasted carrots, sweet potato and chickpea burger, and a spoonful of hummus! -
Cooked the quinoa according to the package. Kale sautéed on medium heat with a bit of walnut oil and sea salt for roughly 6 minutes. Carrots roasted at 425°F for 35 min, or until tender. Sweet potato chickpea burger - 1/2 cup cooked sweet potato, 1/2 cup cooked quinoa, 1 can drained chickpeas, 1/2 cup almond meal, 1/2 an onion, 1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/4 tsp pepper, 1 tbsp parsley flakes, 1 tbsp dried basil, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp sea salt. Combine all ingredients in a food processor, and form into patties. Cook on a pan on medium heat for about 5 min each side. Makes 5-6 burgers, depending the size. Good with hummus, or cashew cream sauce! -

We are so scared of being judged that we look for every excuse to procrastinate ~ Erica Jong ✨

I couldn’t have said it better myself.. I’m such a perfectionist and it’s taken me a really long time to realize that it has actually been completely killing my motivation.

I used to think that to be a successful photographer I needed the top of the range gear + camera + set up.

I have been doing photography for 7 years and there is absolutely no doubt that I love all kinds of photography and that {most} people don’t actually mind what set up you have or what camera you use.. what matters is how you make them FEEL and how you capture content + memories!

After much procrastination I have finally reopened my studio after a year and a half and I couldn’t be happier!! #whatbettertimethannow

From food content to portraits + newborns and more.. my heart is bursting with so much joy and excitement!!

5 FOODS TO EAT TO BALANCE YOUR BLOOD SUGAR 🍫
(Not just eating "sugar free" and putting a bandaid on it). One of the biggest myths I hear in my practice is people thinking that if they simply look at the nutritional facts, and a product is labelled "low sugar" or has only a few grams of sugar, then it's healthy and blood sugar managing. But consuming less sugar is only one very small piece of the puzzle. We need to make sure what we ARE eating is helping to heal our blood sugar balancing system, not just focusing on what NOT to eat. If you have my Blood Sugar Management Guide E-book, you'll know why the following foods are in my top 5, and I rotate through them daily to keep things balanced:
1. PROTEIN SOURCES: chicken, fish, eggs, lentils, chickpeas, beans, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc.
2. HEALTHY FATS(because fats don't break into sugar): nuts and seeds, avocados, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, flax oil, etc.
3. WHOLE VEGGIES, FRUITS AND BERRIES: romaine lettuce, spinach, kale, apples, pears, nectarines, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, etc.
4. REAL SALT (because minerals help to balance blood sugar): sea salt, mountain salt, or pink himalayan salt.
5. RAW CACAO, AKA. REAL CHOCOLATE(because raw cacao is naturally sugar-free and loaded with minerals): my favourite raw cacao brand - that comes in a bunch of yummy flavours - is @giddyyoyo dairy-free/nut-free dark chocolate bars, or cacao powder.

Fruit makes you Fat. . 🤔👇

I recently listened to podcast with Dr. Rick Johnson, talking about his view of Fructose(like sugar found in fruits) + how it cause obesity .
He says "Fruit is a nutrient used by animals to help store fat", arriving to this conclusion from studying apes and animals over consume fruits to gain weight before hibernation.
.
He says that metabolic pathway of Fructose increases fat storage and that humans are more sensitive to fruits because of this mutation that we inherited from apes - LOL WHAT!!! 🤷🤦
.
Never mind at all, just think LOGICALLY about the amount of fruits apes eat.
.
Do we tend to eat the same amount of fruit as an 70-90kgs ape? Fuck no.
.
But, a recent study by Smajis, gave healthy men a Fructose overload of 150g a day for 8weeks(which equals about 20 bananas🍌or more applicable to humans, 6-7 cokes)
.
And they DID NOT see any negative health markers at all. None. They didn't even gain any weight.
.
Why?
Well they monitored their calorie intake.
.
They decreased their calories to account for the added calories from the Fructose they were injecting.
.
*6cokes ~840 calories*
"But, the average Indian doesn't decrease their calories to make up for the added sugars, they drink/eat that on top of what they're already eating."
.
And that's one of the main reasons why obesity has become an epidemic all around the world leading to various health conditions be it diabetes, thyroid, BP, etc.

It is NOT the Fruits🥭🍌it's the over consumption of foods that contain Fructose that leads to eating too many calories, and weight gain. .
Cutting out sugar is just one way to decrease your total amount of calories, and it's the calorie decrease that aids in weightloss.

So, although Dr.Johnson sounds super smart explaining the history of the ape for 30mins, it's definitely false to say that Fructose by itself causes obesity and all these harmful side effects related to it, especially in the form of fruits. .

Ingredients (for 4 servings)⠀
salt, to taste⠀
8 oz penne pasta (225 g)⠀
2 cups broccoli floret (300 g)⠀
2 tablespoons olive oil⠀
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed⠀
pepper, to taste⠀
¼ cup butter (55 g)⠀
3 cloves garlic, minced⠀
1 cup heavy cream (235 mL)⠀
1 teaspoon salt⠀
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg⠀
¼ teaspoon black pepper⠀
1 ½ cups grated parmesan cheese (165 g), plus extra for garnish⠀
red pepper flake, to garnish⠀

Preparation⠀
Bring a quart (950 ML) of water in a large pot to a boil over high heat, and salt to taste.⠀
Cook pasta for 8 minutes, or until slightly underdone.⠀
Add broccoli to pasta and simmer for 4 minutes with the lid on.⠀
Strain the pasta and broccoli in a colander, and run cold water over to prevent the broccoli from over cooking.⠀
Heat the olive oil in the pot over medium-high heat, and add the chicken. Season the chicken with season salt and pepper.⠀
Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the pot and set aside.⠀
Add the butter to the pot, and melt it. Once butter is fully melted, add in garlic and stir continuously for 10 seconds.⠀
Add the heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Stir often, and cook until sauce starts to bubble slightly.⠀
Once the sauce is bubbling and begins to cook down, add in Parmesan cheese and stir until the sauce thickens.⠀
Add in the cooked chicken, pasta, and broccoli, and stir until fully combined.⠀

Headed on a trip for the weekend and I’m making sure to meal prep ALL my necessities! I am currently rushing out the door and I’m glad I have my @thinkproducts High Protein Bars packed for an afternoon pick-me-up! I loveee snacking on these bars around 4pm (especially on days where I workout twice) because they help keep me full and satisfied until dinner. These are my two favorite flavors - Chocolate Sea Salt Almond (plant-based!) and Creamy Peanut Butter. They are both high in protein and low in sugar which is ideal for training!
