    What?! No sugar!!!!!???
🔺
It is amazing to me what a difference sugar makes in pain management. I have struggled with fibromyalgia for years and removing sugar is one of those little changes that make a BIG difference.
🔺
It’s hidden in so many things I have become a label reading fanatic. The best is just make it myself so I know what’s inside the food I eat. 🔺
Life is meant to be lived without pain and sickness. Processed sugar is a poison stealing your great adventures😎
You can do this change with me!!! #changewithcharli #keepthechange

Garlic Butter Steak and Potatoes Skillet😍 . -

Save this down for later 😋 -

Tag a friend that needs to make this for you! 🤤

1 1/2 lb (650g) flank steak, sliced against the grain
1 1/2 lb (650g) baby yellow potatoes, quartered
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 tablespoons butter, divided
5 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh oregano, chopped
Salt and fresh cracked pepper
Crushed red chili pepper flakes, optional
The marinade

1/3 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon hot sauce (we used Sriracha)
Fresh cracked pepper

1. In a large bowl, combine the steak strips with soy sauce, olive oil, pepper, and fit hot sauce. Set aside to marinate while you cook potatoes.

2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, mix 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter. When butter is melted, add potatoes. Cook for about 4 minutes, stir and cook an additional 4-5 minutes until potatoes are golden healthy and fork tender. Transfer to a plate and set aside.

3. Keep the same skillet over medium heat and add remaining 2 tablespoons butter, garlic, red chili pepper flakes, and fresh herbs. Lay the steak strips in one layer in the skillet, keeping the drained marinade for later. Cook on each side for 1 minute each, until nicely browned – adjust timing depending on how you like your steak recipes.

4. Right before the steak is done, you can stir in the reserved marinade if you like, and cook for one minute. Add the potatoes back to the pan and heat through. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.

5. Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with more crushed chili pepper, fresh herbs, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese over the potatoes if you like. Enjoy!

Note: You can precook the potatoes in boiling salted water for 8 minutes before browning them. This will accelerate cooking time in the skillet and ensure a nice golden crust

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you all are having a great weekend so far! I feel like in today’s world, everyone wants to make things so complicated! People always want MORE and can never be happy with what they have! What I’ve figured out this year is that if you look at what you have in life, you’ll always have more. If you look at what you don’t have in life, you’ll never have enough! Last night, instead of going out and staying out late, my boyfriend and I stayed in, cooked dinner & just enjoyed our time together! Those simple nights like that are my absolute favorite! It’s not how much we have, but how much WE ENJOY that makes happiness ❤️

The idea of putting limits on some types of foods comes from the belief that there are “good” foods and “bad” foods. These labels place a judgement on food, and therefore on ourselves when we eat them. If we eat cake, we’ve been “bad”, but if we have a salad for lunch we were “good”. Let’s get this straight guys, bad food is all inedible food and good food is all edible food, it’s as simple as that😄. ⠀
---⠀
It is important to understand that labeling foods feeds a shame cycle where you start to question what you eat and wonder if it meets an arbitrary standard of being “good” or “clean.” Assigning moral value to food threatens self-esteem. Our sense of self is not dependent upon what we ate or didn’t eat in a given day. The foods we eat, how much we exercise or a number on a scale cannot determine the value and worth we hold as human beings. We are inherently worthy of love and belonging regardless of how we eat or what our bodies look like.⠀
---⠀
We can make food choices based on nutritional value and hunger cues. If we are hungry and have something in mind, it’s okay to eat that. We do not need to give ourselves permission to eat by making sure it meets some sort of “clean” or “good” standard. It is okay to want chocolate, ice cream as long as it is in moderation. It is also okay to want fruit, vegetables and whole grains in moderation. Both extremes can become unhealthy if you are not seeking balance.⠀

I still feel guilty about eating oatmeal for breakfast.🥣
I overthink how many carbohydrates I’m consuming.
That if I add peaches I’m going to spike my blood sugar. 🍑
I fear my gut flora is going to go to go out of whack from the sugar.
And if I don’t move around after the excess glucose will be stored as fat.
There is also nothing green in the bowl...🤦🏼‍♀️
.
These thoughts are REAL and my biochemistry knowledge is particularly to blame.
But they are also based on FEAR. So instead I’m saying YUM.

Tag a friend that needs to make this for you! 🤤 ——
Ingredients:
1/2 lb ground turkey meat
1/2 lb ground pork meat or substitute chicken
1/2 cup shredded cheese of your choice
4 cloves garlic, grated + 2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon red crushed chili pepper flakes, optional
1 crumbled bouillon cube, optional
Salt and fresh cracked black pepper, to taste
1 cup fresh chopped cilantro (or parsley), divided
3 tablespoons butter
4 medium zucchini, spiralized
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tablespoon hot sauce
——
Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, combine ground turkey and ground pork, cheese, grated garlic, Italian seasoning, bouillon cube, red chili pepper flakes, chopped cilantro and black pepper. Mix well with your hands or fork and form medium balls. Arrange on a plate and set aside.
2. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Cook the meatballs for 8 – 10 minutes on all sides, until browned and cooked through. While cooking, baste the meatballs with the mix of butter and juices. Remove to a clean plate and set aside.
3. In the same skillet melt remaining tablespoon butter; then add lemon juice, hot sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if you want). Add the zucchini noodles and cook for 3 or 4 minutes, stirring regularly, until zucchini is done but still crisp and juices have reduced a bit. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper and garnish with more cilantro or parsley if you like.
4. Push zucchini on one side of the skillet and add the meatballs back to the pan and reheat for a minute or two. Serve immediately with a lemon slice on the side. Enjoy!
