Chipotle invested $50 million to train & coach their new employees... So, clearly it's pretty important to invest in, train, and coach new team members, right?! And, this is related to the fact that Brad Pitt invests in acting coaches... More specifically, investing time and money with voice coaches who help Brad improve his performance and results... Not just with voice exercises, but with real-time support, coaching, and feedback about their current situation (preparing for a new movie role). And, then there's Lebron... Lebron has a team of personal coaches including a health coach, strength coach, physical therapist(!!), massage therapist... And he even has scientists on his team who help analyze Lebron's health, performance, and recovery.

Which is interesting, because many people think that if you have a coach, then it's because you're "weak" or "dependent" on others... And, that couldn't be further from the truth.

What I've found is that coaches... as in business coaches, can help you Achieve Your GOALS faster and more efficiently, since they've already been where you're trying to go... Plus, you get the added benefit of less overwhelm and less stress, because you have more support, guidance, and mentorship.

In addition, your results can be accelerated because you have personal accountability... from someone "holding your feet to fire". Not literally, but you know what I mean.

Now, there's 3 Paths that you could choose
Path #1: Do nothing and stay where you are.
Path #2: Go it alone.
Path #3: Let’s do it together. *Maybe everything's going awesome and you’re totally satisfied with your current income? *Maybe you’ve already got all the patients you can handle? *Or maybe you've just got too much on your plate?

Uma tensão muscular, ou distensão, ocorre quando o músculo está sobrecarregado ou rasgado. Isso geralmente ocorre como resultado de fadiga, uso excessivo ou uso inadequado de um músculo. As tensões podem ocorrer em qualquer músculo, mas são mais comuns na região lombar, pescoço, ombro e isquiotibiais, que é o músculo atrás da coxa.

Essas tensões podem causar dor e limitar o movimento dentro do grupo muscular afetado.

Ocorre principalmente na coxa e na panturrilha e o seu principal sintoma é a dor no músculo afetado, com consequente comprometimento da função muscular. O tratamento inclui repouso, imobilização, fisioterapia e, nos casos mais graves, cirurgia.

A diferença entre uma entorse e uma distensão é que uma entorse danifica as faixas de tecido que conectam dois ossos, enquanto uma distensão envolve lesão de um músculo ou da faixa de tecido que liga um músculo a um osso.

✏ Os sinais e sintomas variam de acordo com a gravidade da lesão e podem incluir:
✔ Dor
✔ Inchaço
✔ Hematomas
✔ Capacidade limitada de mover a articulação afetada
✔ Ouvir ou sentir um "estalo" na articulação no momento da lesão

O ideal é consultar a fisioterapeuta para uma avaliação.

👟 ¡No olvides calentar antes de entrenar! Cuando tus músculos están fríos, son más propensos a lesiones. De 5 a 10 minutos de algún ejercicio aeróbico es suficiente para poner a trabajar tus músculos y rendir mejor. 🚴‍♀🤽‍♀🏄‍♂🤸‍♀🤾‍♀ ⠀

Because… There’s nobody to share your wins with!

Como anda a SUA PISADA?

O modo como se pisa é determinado a partir das características anatômicas de cada pessoa, como, por exemplo, os tipos de pé, joelhos e flexibilidade nas articulações.

👉 Cada um pisa de uma maneira, as pisadas são divididas em três tipos:
👣 Pronada - quando a parte de fora do calcanhar toca no chão, o pé inicia uma rotação excessiva para dentro.

👣 Supinada - o pé toca o solo com a face externa do calcanhar e se mantém na banda externa do pé.

👣 Neutra - começa com a parte externa do calcanhar e o pé rotaciona ligeiramente para dentro. ▫
Para corrigir as pisadas, utilizamos as Palmilhas Funcionais, confeccionadas de forma criteriosa e personalizada, a partir de exames de alta tecnologia, como Baropodometria e Análise de Marcha. I like to ask more questions, because I really want my athletes to ACTUALLY be ready to play. .

Are you in pain? Are you feeling confident? Are you feeling relaxed? Are you stressed or concerned about reinjury? .

Here are some things I give my athletes on the mental side of RTP (which, btw, is JUST as important! Nobody wants an athlete to play who feels like they don’t belong there yet or could get injured at any second.)

Check your confidence and your self-talk. It’s a decision. .
.
Surround yourself with good people. RTP is a TEAM effort - you aren’t supposed to do it alone.
.
.
Stay connected to your sport and team. You still belong there.
.
.
Don’t stress yourself about getting back quicker. When you’re injured, 100% of your energy should go toward recovery and returning stronger and better. It’s your task now, NOT playing.
.
.
Set small goals for your return. Smash them.
.
Be honest when you evaluate where you are and if you’re ready. .
.
Envision what it’ll look and feel like when you are fully recovered and back to play.
.
.
Ask for help.
.
.
Being injured doesn’t make you lesser or weaker. It just means your task is different now, and you need to hammer the sh*t out of it!!

🔥Meniscus Rehab: Phase 1🔥


❓First off, what is the meniscus? Well, the meniscus is a fibrocartilage that acts like a shock absorber for the knee and also assists in movement (gliding) of the knee joint. We have 2 of them on each knee - a medial and a lateral meniscus.

🧩Many people tear their meniscus over the course of their life, and many people do NOT need surgical intervention. It all comes down to what your symptoms look like, how much pain you are in and if you get repetitive locking and catching which limits you during daily and recreational activities/sports.

💪🏼My patient @feefiefofeather is a Highland Games Athlete, a Strongman Athlete & she, unfortunately had a lateral meniscal tear of her left knee which caused A LOT of catching…to the point that she was unable to do much exercise at all. She tried Physical Therapy first but ultimately decided to opt for the surgery…sometimes surgery IS necessary.

🔑Our main goals right now:🔑
1️⃣Get the knee moving, ultimately getting full extension back is first priority (for normal walking) then working knee flexion. I like doing some passive ROM exercises at first but quickly work into active ROM exercises as soon as I’m able because these are more functional and translate better to movement (plus they build confidence, work balance and get people moving!)
2️⃣Slowly rebuilding her strength- this includes all muscles surrounding the hip and knee and ankle, it’s all connected and it all matters.
3️⃣Rebuilding confidence with movement. Beginning with double leg exercises then progressing to single leg exercises as she gets stronger and is able.

🔴Here is an example of what that 2nd session of rehab looks like: (the first was mostly table based ROM, leg raises, quad sets, etc.)🔴
1️⃣Walking knee bend / kick outs
2️⃣Walking butt kicks
3️⃣Walking hamstring kicks
4️⃣High toe walks
5️⃣SB Triple Threat Series (straight leg glute bridge, hamstring curls, bent knee glute bridge)

❓First off, what is the meniscus? Well, the meniscus is a fibrocartilage that acts like a shock absorber for the knee and also assists in movement (gliding) of the knee joint. We have 2 of them on each knee - a medial and a lateral meniscus.
—
🧩Many people tear their meniscus over the course of their life, and many people do NOT need surgical intervention. It all comes down to what your symptoms look like, how much pain you are in and if you get repetitive locking and catching which limits you during daily and recreational activities/sports.

💪🏼My patient @feefiefofeather is a Highland Games Athlete, a Strongman Athlete & she, unfortunately had a lateral meniscal tear of her left knee which caused A LOT of catching…to the point that she was unable to do much exercise at all.  She tried Physical Therapy first but ultimately decided to opt for the surgery…sometimes surgery IS necessary.

💯These 6 exercises hit on all the muscles that tend to become stretched / weak over time and end up contributing to many chronic or nagging injuries of the shoulder, neck, back, jaw, etc.

💲💲💲So unless you like injuries and pain, I would recommend doing these a couple times a week as part of your injury prevention /reduction regiment.💲💲💲

🔑 Keys 🔑
♦️Start without weight.
♦️Lay at the angle at the end of the bed or on a workout bench.
♦️Make sure you pack the shoulder blades back before each movement- this is important for improving scapular retraction strength and really target those posterior shoulder and mid/upper back muscles.
♦️Hold each position 10 seconds.
♦️Relax shoulders completely between each movement.
♦️Do 10 cycles. This can be broken up throughout the day...don’t underestimate how difficult these exercises are!!!
♦️Add light weight as you get stronger just make sure you continue to do the exercises correctly with perfect form!!!

The medial meniscus is also a secondary stabilizer to the ACL as it can prevent anterior translation (forward shifting) of the tibia.

📚𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲? Tears in the outer 1/3 of the meniscus have healing potential because there is blood flow to that area. However, tears in the inner 2/3 generally do not heal well as a result of poor circulation.

🔪𝐃𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲? No. All meniscus tears do not require surgery. Surgery is indicated if you have mechanical symptoms such as locking. Otherwise, you should try conservative management first. This includes NSAIDs (anti-inflammatories), physical therapy, and finally, injections. If you fail conservative therapy and do not have arthritis, you may then be a candidate for surgery.
