▫️My consistency in the gym has gotten back on track guys and I feel geewwwwdddd💥 ▫️Consistency is one of the main things I think a lot of people struggle with and it’s also the main thing that creates change (which is a struggle🙃). A lot of people can put in effort for a week or a month, or even a few months, but then it fades as motivation fades..as excuses grow..this is when discipline comes into play - and when your reason “why” gets tested. ▫️Im guilty of falling off track and being inconsistent just as much as the next person, but as cheesy as it is - its all about if and how you get back on track😎

Yes I know, typical booty picture on Instagram🙄 .. but yaknow what, 8 months ago I was 102 pounds with no muscle mass and a very poor attitude about myself ! 🤦‍♀️

Today, I am so damn proud of where I'm at and excited for the future. This isn't just a "typical" fitness picture to me, this is showing how hard work pays off.. how loving something so much can be such a massive award.. how not caring what others think has been the best thing I ever did.. how working on myself is paying off💥

I woke up super late today but boy did I need it. After my three mile hike yesterday I worked an 8 hour serving shift and by the time I got home I was totally beat. So I listen to my body and slept until 11:30am. It almost made me skip the gym since I work at 4pm but I decided a short workout is better than none at all! So I got my butt up and headed to the gym. The not-so-obvious ways to help build muscle🦾

Most of us already know that in order to build muscle you must be working your body hard while fueling yourself with a caloric surplus. Although those two things are essential for muscle growth, there are also some other things you can do to help excel the process:

TIP #1: Reduce your alcohol intake!
Alcohol is literally your muscles archenemy. Why? Well, three things: Alcoholic drinks are full of empty calories, alcohol itself reduces muscle protein synthesis which is basically what tells your body to start building muscles, AND alcohol reduces fat burning by up to 73% which means more fat = less toned look. I will dive into this subject more deeply later, but in the meantime you can read more about it on @chesters page.

TIP #2: Try out Creatine!
Creatine is one of the most studied supplements out there and these studies reveal that this supplement can increase muscle mass, strength and exercise performance in a relatively short period of time. Its suggested that you only need 5g of creatine a day, and luckily for us creatine supplements are very inexpensive (some even under $10).

TIP #3: Get your sleep!
Alright guys, muscle recovery requires more than the right nutrition. Recovery takes TIME- roughly eight hours per night- dedicated to recovery. When you sleep your body releases the human growth hormone which then helps you grow muscle. Sleep good → Get strong

union of the body and the mind. The heart and the soul. The inhale and the exhale. My (almost) daily practice makes me realize that everything is somehow connected🙌🏽 Cant wait for next saturday to unite with 10 amazing girls to flow and embrace the balance of our ying and yang🧘🏼‍♀️
And oooverly excited to announce something else soon as well ❤️
