🙋🏾‍♀️ Anyone else other than me having a slow start to their 2020 #newyearsresolutions ? A few of mine were family(stronger relationships) health, and personal growth (business). Some I’ve been working on (heavily hitting the gym) but others not so much. That business plan (not started). Date nights have been almost non-existent. Having 3 children has created a unique dynamic, plus I only have two hands, I’ve given up on sleep or sleeping in and frankly ; I’m outnumbered . Money, what money! ( 529 plans, extra curricular activities, groceries, travel, etc). But I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world especially those “few” days of chaos and stress because most times my house is filled with lots of life and love. ❤️So if your like me don’t let January ending deter you, we still have 11 months to do whatever we/you/I set out to do in #2020. It’s time for this old mumma to ramp up her fitness 🙌 I have worked really hard for the last 12 months to get my hormones healthy, lower my body fat and basically feel really good with minimal cardio. Growth and change are important don’t get me wrong ... but trying to RUSH through the process of this will only set you back.

When we forgot to enjoy the NOW, we honestly never really get to enjoy the process of reaching the goal we wanted to achieve.

My advice ... what’s worked for me ... anytime you find yourself rushing through the present, remind yourself to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN.

When we forgot to enjoy the NOW, we honestly never really get to enjoy the process of reaching the goal we wanted to achieve.

My advice ... what’s worked for me ... anytime you find yourself rushing through the present, remind yourself to SLOW THE FUCK DOWN.

The next training philosophy in this series from the 70’s/80’s is the Pump Training method pioneered by Serge Nubret. He had one of the greatest physiques ever (the greatest in my opinion). This is a moderate volume/low weight approach. To overcome the lower weight, the rest time is key. Every exercise selected must be done for a minimum of 6 sets and 12 reps. The weight you select should allow you to complete 20 solid form repetitions. After the first set, you rest for a maximum of 1 minute, then roll into the 2nd set. You continue that until you are done with the planned sets for the exercise. The first couple sets may feel fine, but the high stress from low rest time will generate one of the best pumps of your life with the amount of blood flowing into the muscle. Why does this method work? The short rest periods stacked on top of each other allows high volume per minute of work completed. The muscle has to respond by getting bigger to handle the workload.
Warm Up
Workout: (Rest 1 minute MAXIMUM after each set per exercise. Take time to recover after the exercise is completed before you move into the next one.)
