Jack LaLanne did something that nobody could do in his time, and very few have done since...he appealed to ALL populations. The hardcore bodybuilder respected him as a fellow bodybuilder, strongmen and athletes adored him for his great feats of strength, all at the same time as the 1950's housewife looked to him as a their fitness authority. -

Here are a 7 random facts about Jack LaLanne you may not know. -

1. In 1936, at the age of 21 years old, he opened one of the first fitness gyms in the country. -

2. He invented a number of exercise machines. -

3. He hosted The Jack LaLanne Show between 1953 and 1985. -

    I forgot to share some of the workouts that we did yesterday. Anytime we take a few weeks off from the gym the first area we like to start working again is the back. Back workouts are vital because it helps to strengthen your posture and creates a more balanced body. Most people who experience lower back pain can find a lot of benefits from regularly training their back muscles. For me, going to the gym is not about looking good, everything I do is with intention. I can’t pray for healing and refuse to do the work to actively heal my body. Faith without work is DEAD! My reminder to anyone starting their fitness journey is to start small but stay consistent. You’re stronger than you know! 💜🏋🏾‍♀️

Help us in welcoming our #new Coach, Sean Ryan @theseanryan21 ! 💪🏽 Sean recently passed his #CrossFit Level 1 Certification this summer & has spent the past (3) months interning as an Assistant Coach. An athlete since high school, he also has 6 years of #powerlifting experience under his belt. 🏋🏾‍♂️ Like many of us, he lost motivation to continue to stay in shape when he discovered how much fun college was.🎉 Doing his own research on the CrossFit training method he became obsessed with the idea of all the incredible things the human body can go through & endure - and has never looked back!

Always positive + fun, Sean’s coaching style ensures everyone is safely practicing the techniques required for an effective #workout - making sure we are all putting in our best potential. •

Starting next week, you can find him coaching Tues/Fri mornings & Weds/Thurs evenings. But when he's not at the box he’s enjoying his other biggest passion in life, SINGING! 🎵 Whether it’s learning a new song to sing/play on the ukulele, singing along to music blasting in the gym, or even going on Broadway auditions, singing has always been a huge part of his life.     Getting my life on track! Starting with a superfood smoothie for brekkie making sure I am feuling my body with goodness and balanced ingredients! 24grams protein, 21 vitamins and minerals & 8grams dietary fibre. Trying to make sure every meal is worth my body’s effort to process. Doing this puts less stress on our bodies and in turn makes us feel better 😍 win win

    Getting my life on track! You have a choice everyday to wake up and view every situation how you want to. Changing your outlook from negative to positive can be tough but i promise you, you will feel more at peace with it if you choose to look at the brighter side of things. 
We all go through something everyday but the strong ones know how to pull through. ❤️ Happy Friday time to turn up with friends/family 🤪

    I wore shorts in the gym for the first time!
I remember putting these shorts on a few months ago and thinking “damn I got a lot of junk in the trunk” 🤣 too much to feel comfortable at the gym. But today I put them on and the were loose, almost baggy even! 
Crazy thing is, I haven’t lost any weight! Just lost a lot of fat and gained muscle! 🙈🏋️‍♀️

    One of the most important tips Ive ever gotten regarding fitness is Consistency+Time=Results! This is 2 years of work, not always the best quality work either but work none the less! Point is that you dont have to be perfect always to get results, you just have to try your best and be patient!!

    My journey so far has been filled with many ups and downs. And It goes way beyond just wanting to lose weight. It’s about fighting for my life. A life I almost lost due to my weight. Finally living my life and loving myself! 💗
My journey is so much more than just wanting to look good, be “skinny”, fit or to just lose weight. My whole journey has been about becoming the best version of myself possible. In order to do that, it takes a lot of hard work. It takes dedication to myself, not just in the gym or with healthy eating, but a commitment to do what is best for myself. A commitment to never give up on me. To never quit even when it becomes challenging and to never settle for anything other than what’s best for me. And to keep fighting for what is right, and for what I deserve! 💗
This life, this journey goes way beyond just losing weight. It’s more about finally taking care of myself, loving myself and respecting myself. Wanting what’s best for myself. Living the life I have always dreamed of. Actually being able to live and enjoy life again without my weight, my body and my self doubts and insecurities holding me back. It’s about never giving up. 💗
So ya I may struggle, fall down and have a few setbacks along the way. But that doesn’t mean I will stop. It doesn’t mean I have failed. And it certainly doesn’t mean I will give up. Because like I said, quitting is not an option!

    It’s a slow process but quitting won’t speed it up. 
Video on the left is the first time walking down the stairs by myself after skin removal on my legs. The video on the right is me now, back to working out and going up and down the stairs at my gym every day! 
Recovery, weight loss and building up strength is a slow process. Quitting is not an option for me. And seeing progress like this, only makes me want to keep fighting harder and harder everyday! 
Remember, quitting will not help you reach your goals any faster!
