1 year vs almost 3 years into lifting. I guess you can say I like training chest🗿.

My Morning Elixir 🌿

As requested...here is my morning elixir routine❕☕️ I usually make this elixir every morning before I eat anything. It’s super refreshing and yummy 😋 Suuuper easy to make!
Ingredients: ☕️ - Room temperature water 1/2 cup
- Hot water 1/2 cup - Apple Cider vinegar about 1tbs 🍎 - Chia Seeds 1/3 cup - Honey 🍯 (as much as you prefer) - Lemon Juice 🍋 ^ ❕Swipe to see the video ❕

As you can see, it made a noticeable difference in my body with 2 months of consistant training.
I know...Good posture makes a huge difference, too but you can see my behind looks lifted and grown a little in size overall.
Well, I can see the difference...
Can you imagine what a year would do?

What I did today;

1) Side step with a resistance band on thighs (3 sets of 20 steps each direction)
2) Barbell Hip Thrust 4x12
3) Hamstring curl machine 4x10 drop set
4) Sumo Stance Deadlift 4x12
5) Super set;
Wide stance leg press 4 sets of 6 with
Narrow stance leg press 4 sets of 6
6) Kettlebell swing 3x12
7) Barbell Squat 4x10
8) Narrow Stance Hack Squat 4x12
9) Wide Stance Deep Squat on a super squat machine 3x10
10) Calf Raise 4x15
11) Cable Ab Twist 4x12
12) Elliptical Machine 30 Mins

Left Picture was 4 years ago right after getting married. Most people experience weight gain during the “honeymoon” phase, however this wasn’t my reason.
I fell into a deep depression after saying “I do”. I ate cookies and ice cream every day, stayed in the house like a hermit, didn’t want to see the sun (crazy because I lived in Florida☀️), and working out was the unthinkable. I lost control of my mind, which led me to lose control of my body. ➖
Middle Picture was 2018. I ate a fully plant based diet, and although I worked out 6x a week, my calories were extremely low which affected my #mentalhealth even more. I tried to eat as much as possible to match my energy output in the gym, but because I was experiencing major digestive issues from all the fruits, vegetables and beans, (I didn’t eat tofu), my diet became even more restrictive. I was plant-based for a year, up until I started experiencing severe health issues. My hair was thinning, my eyelashes were falling out and my entire pinky nail came off. I’m not kidding; My husband and family witnessed it all. Even some of you were commenting on my appearance. I’m working on a detailed video now to share MY OWN experience eating a plant-based diet. ➖
Right Picture is me currently, give or take a few pounds. I eat heathy whole foods with the exception of a few things like dairy, pork, and processed foods. I workout 5x a week and I feel the healthiest I’ve felt in a while. Honestly, I am still recovering from last year, therefore I do supplement with Iron, B12 , magnesium, as well as a #collagen protein powder. .
This has been a long journey, but I have discovered what works for me. You can do the same. Every “BODY” is different,however we ALL were blessed with just one to care for. Do it now so that your family won’t have to later. Even if you fall, don’t stay there. I’m rooting for you because I know what seems impossible is very possible if you keep going! 💪🏾 #transformationtuesday

4 things that happened when I started lifting weights:
1. I became comfortable in my own skin. Ok so at 1st, I felt like I looked “too strong“ in certain dresses, which kept me from wearing them as much. 🙅🏽‍♀️👗 Seriously, I became self-conscience about my arms. But NOW, I appreciate having “curvy arms”. I randomly do pull-ups when I see a hanging bar. I remember when I couldn’t fathom the idea of doing a pull-up!
2. It made me love my body: I was never a confident girl growing up. Didn’t like what I saw in the mirror nor how I felt about myself. I had no self-love whatsoever and believed I needed makeup all the time. Honestly being healthy makes me feel more beautiful than makeup does.
3. I gained physical and mental strength: I feel powerful when I run, when I squat, when I curl some dumbbells. 🏋🏽‍♀️ 🏃🏽‍♀️ Because it’s ME doing it! It’s an accomplishing feeling that no one can take away!
4. I love grapefruit: I hated this fruit growing up. 😩 I remember thinking how could someone eat something so bitter! Now, I have a piece everyday! Ha, weird right?!

4 things that happened when I started lifting weights:

This week I “soft launched” my lifting for girls online programme 😊. In the last few months I have been working on it like CrAzY. When it comes to the marketing of it all, I was speaking with my designers about how I did not want any pictures of me competing, any mention of being a previous bikini champion, talks of being “shredded”, “cutting” etc etc.

Other people in the industry might question this. Lots of trainers feel they have to compete to give themselves credibility or get a lean photoshoot photos for marketing materials. So why do I rarely post images like this and talk about my competing days? I have two years worth of content I could keep reposting from those days and probably get lots of attention for doing so. Surely if I can get myself into that kind of shape, I can inspire others to do so as well?

Perhaps this is true. But look at that difference - it’s just NOT me anymore. It’s been a whirlwind journey accepting the “non-competing” me. But I can hand on my heart say that nearly two years out of the competing world, I am totally over it. I don’t hold onto that past life. I don’t pine over these images wishing I could of maintained it. I look at my life now and I cherish it. I have down days about my bod like any girl, but generally I’m confident enough to have bikini photo shoots exactly as I am.

My new programmes help REAL gals. And you know why I wanted that to be so important? Because I AM JUST THAT! Normal. Achievable. Maintainable.

I find the bikini /body building / instagram fitness world totally alienating now. I wouldn’t want a coach who does nothing but that - because I can’t relate anymore. I am one who struggles to balance everything, prioritises my social life, wants to go to fun fitness classes but also look like I workout a bit.

I don’t want to be absolutely shredded. I don’t want to step on stage ever. I don’t want to post nothing but videos of me looking 🔥 in gymshark. I want to live a full and happy life do other shit that isn’t any of those things. ⠀

2015 ➡️ 2017. The physical change of my body is fairly evident here; I've gained nearly 10kg in both body fat & muscle and look way healthier IMO.
But I don't wanna talk about that right now, cos sometimes the transformations you see go waaaay beyond the physical.
2015 me was scared of food and exercised to be skinny. I hated the gym. I cut out foods I loved for no other reason than I "thought they were bad and made you fat".
2017 me is different. I (although still a tiny human) am SO much stronger physically and mentally. I have so much more confidence and happiness. I eat wtf I want.
Last week a group of guys came up to me in the gym and complimented me on my training and strength. Not my body, but my strength and form. I was so happy and it really resonated with me about how much ive achieved 😊
I used to be the petrified girl who fumbled around in the outskirts of the weights section, avoided the gym at peak hours and couldn't really lift much.
Now I'm strong and sassy and confident and have no qualms working out next to 300lb men lifting twice as much as me. 😊😊 I genuinely workout to FEEEEEL good and to be happy 😊😊😊

This isn’t solely a weight loss journey- it’s a health journey. It’s a journey towards healing my mind and my body from years of abuse and neglect.
I’m finding balance and passion, I’m discovering what it means to live intently as myself. I’m learning to love me as I was, as I am, and as I will be. 😊
