I'm going to keep working at perfecting gym videos in the future; my brain is on its last circuit, but I'm learning! Swipe to see my late night session.
I am a lil sore after a full 7 days of activity that included the gym, spin, dancing and an afternoon at the range 🏌️ but do I ever feel like wonder woman!
Its been eye opening, seeing my form from a different angle, and figuring out what my body can handle. I highly recommend filming yourself too.
Upper body exercises will focus mostly on rear delts and back development. I have slightly forward rounded shoulders like most folks because everything we do is in front of us. I highly suggest doing a ratio of 3:1 posterior to anterior movements. Don't buy a bug zapper to shock up to stand up straight mmmmkay, do the work.

Easily my favourite gym ‘accessory’ and exercise at the moment! 🔥🤤

The T-Bell Deficit Straddle lift generates an insane amount of hip flexion and tension through my glutes/hamstrings! .
Unlike a Sumo Deadlift, the T-Bell provides the advantage of being able to pull the weight closer into your centre of gravity, which allows me to load the weight through my feet properly🦶 keep my lats engaged✊ and remain completely stable throughout🙏

Using an assisted pull up machine is also an easy way to set up a quick, sturdy deficit (just be carful when you pick up the T-bell). If you look closely, I also added a resistance band vertically around the top handle for additional grip😇

Tricep pushdown is one of the exercises that I really believe that the lighter the weight, the more effective it is.

I see a lot of people putting a lot of weight for their pushdowns, but end up using their entire body to move the weight. This won’t grow your triceps. Lighten the load and feel the burn in your triceps instead.🔥🔥

I’m making this post because I know that multiple people are going to ask me what I’m doing during & after I’m finished - (because that’s what happened last time) - so making this post means answering everyone in the one post, at the same time. 😁

I have signed up to do another “12 week challenge” with @maxineschallenge. In September 2018 I completed about 9(ish) weeks of the 12 weeks (stopped because I let myself enjoy a lot of celebrations/social gatherings that presented themselves, lol) but still managed to get decent results - so I know it provides the kind of results I’m chasing (unlike many others out there).

This time I’m giving their brand new program a go - “booty builder” - yep, you guessed it 😂🍑 I’m attempting to gain strength and muscle in my lower body (and so hopefully grow these glutes 🍑 haha) and if I drop body fat along the way, that’ll be a huge bonus.

I’m actually really looking forward to this round. I’m entering this challenge (compared to the last one) with a better mindset, a higher level of commitment, more drive, and I have FINALLY(!!!) found a decent personal trainer that I actually like *insert horror story about the last PT I seen years ago that turned me off all personal trainers for ages* 😂 so I’m really looking forward to the next 12 weeks! This picture here is my meal prep for the fortnight 😅 I’m ready now!! Let’s go! 💪🏻🍑🏋🏻‍♂️

What does it really take to achieve a body like or close to this ?
And do it 100% Natural
No off season drug cycles
No steroids or Band drugs
No fat strippers or illegal Diuretics.......
I can only tell you what I’ve done and why it’s been relatively easy for me.
I was always a relatively tall skinny kid with very little body fat my entire life, so genetically I get lean fast and without much effort ( thankfully ) but in saying that it’s been hard to build the muscle I carry on my tall frame 6’2
On an average I’ve been competing about 11 years now and in my first show I walked out on stage shredded as hell but not very big weighing only 80.2kgs 🙈
Now 10-11 years later I’ve been coming out on stage around 90kg with reasonable condition but not the dried out shred I was known for when I started, so my average muscle gain is about 1kg per year which sounds like very little but that’s about as good as it gets in most cases for us natural athletes. I was reading a story that even a guy like the big Ronnie Coleman who was on steroids averaged 1-3 kg a year of lean muscle growth over his start to finish career. Even I assumed it would be a lot more on steroids but that’s apparently the average growth per year.
So my point in wanting a body like me or better takes a fucken lot of hard work and serious discipline to achieve minimal results over a long period before looking in the mirror and having a huge wow moment. Muscle is insanely hard to build and just as hard to keep.
The key:
Basics: you need the protein for growth that’s a given and absolutely crucial, on average 20-30grams ideally every 3 or so hours.
Good fats are just as important for many reasons and your carbs are just what I call the fillers, make up most of your daily intake of proteins, then fats then carbs for a leaner more muscular type of physique.
Training for growth requires a minimum 4-6 weight training sessions a week no less and cardio varies from individuals and their starting body type and goals, I personally don’t need any cardio to shred down to how I look in the pictures above it’s all done through weight training and calorie control. Bisognerebbe capire e accettare che la vecchiaia non è una malattia ma è il normale decorso della vita.
Esiste una sola certezza, fino ad adesso, ed è che tutti invecchieremo e faremo il nostro naturale percorso biologico.
Come tutti i percorsi, però, spesso possiamo scegliere come percorrerli.

How to come into #EPK2

I’ve taught this a couple of times in my classes at @pgcambridgegraftoncentre.. they’re tricky to come into but surprisingly all about balance and technique (with a little bit of engagement from your #core and #glutes) rather than arm strength!!

The easiest way for me to come into EPK2 is from a short downward-facing dog, finding a spot to rest the weight on my “inner” arm (tucked under my hip/waist/midriff area), bending the opposite leg to rest my “outer” arm (as if doing a very low crow pose) and then coming up into the tip toes of my outstretched leg and hoping for the best!!

Leg-straightening is optional and make sure your hamstrings are warmed up first!!

CHEST TRAINING By @musclemonsters

The pectoralis major is split into two heads; a clavicular head and a sternocostal (Sternal) head. While both heads are responsible for horizontal adduction and internal rotation of the shoulder joint, the clavicular head is most involved in shoulder flexion.
.
There is a strong misconception that you can target the “middle chest”. The pec major only has two heads; an upper (clavicular) & lower (sternal). There is no in between. Any exercise that is proposed to hit your mid chest probably just hits your sternal head.
.
Bear in mind there are exercises that hit the clavicular head more and likewise for the sternal head. A good chest or push workout will include a mix of both sets of exercises to hit all of the chest.
.
Personally, when it comes to training chest, I aim to train it at least twice per week, for about 20 sets per week, across both low and high rep ranges.

First time deadlifting over 300 in a minute😍

👉🏼Deadlifts ~ 4 sets 3 reps (315lbs)
-I’ve been working a lot on core strength & firing my glutes. Weirdly for me my glutes are stronger than my core so I’ve had to spend a lot of time working on my core. Strength is there, so once I feel 100% in my lower back & not feeling sick it’s a FULL GO😈

👉🏼Banded Sumo RDL ~ 2 sets 15 reps
-I showed you guys a similar movement earlier this week, so I wanted to show you another awesome way to perform it. Banded is looped through rack & kettlebell. It adds tensions on the concentric & eccentric part of the movement. I am hinging instead of squatting this time, so my hips don’t move. I am focusing on pushing my glutes back & keeping my scaps/lower back locked in. Control the movement & youll feel the burn🔥

👉🏼Reverse Hack Squat ~ 3 sets 10 reps
-I love the hack squat. Every since my gym got it, I’ve used it. Notice how I’m pushing my hips back before I squat down. This loads my glutes. I squat down until I feel the load shift from my glutes to lower back so I don’t fully hit depth to keep tension where I want it.

👉🏼Standing Single Leg Ham Curl ~ 2 sets 10 reps
-first off my quad says hello haha, but you’ll notice I never fully extend the leg curling. I do this to keep tension on my hamstring the whole time. Burn is a heck of a lot better😈

👉🏼Physio Ball Ham Curl ~ 2 sets 20 reps
-this is one of my favorites lately. We’ve been having our clients do it a lot also! Notice how I drive my heels into the ball & glute bridge up first, then I slowly control as I roll the ball out. I keep driving my heels into the ball and I curl the ball in until I feel my hamstrings fully contract then control the eccentric back out. My goal is to keep full tension so I don’t fully extend out. Glutes don’t touch the ground the entire 20 reps. Try it & have fun😘
