    Dressed in real clothes on a Tuesday?! Is it sad that this is shocking...😂🤦🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ I had the chance to go to education week @brighamyounguniversity today. It’s basically a day of classes on any & every topic you can think of. 
One of the classes I went to was all about cultivating healthy habits in our lives. He spoke to my soul, & I took copious notes to try to relay all the goodness on to you. 
BUT one of the things the speaker said that really stood out to me was, “FIRST DO IT, THEN DO IT RIGHT, & THEN DO IT BETTER.” His point was, if we are wanting to incorporate a new healthy habit into our routines you have to start by just doing SOMETHING. He suggested to make it small, make it doable, & then as you master that small thing you can add to & perfect your efforts. 
He ended with the well know, “if it’s important to you, you’ll find a way, of not you’ll find an excuse,” which was right on track with my thoughts in my story this morning. 
If your health REALLY is a priority to you, you will find a way to make your workouts, & your healthy meals happen. If you REALLY want to see changes in your life, you will make healthy habits your norm. If it’s not something you really want, you will find any & every excuse not to. (Believe me...I see it & hear it every day.) People ask all the time where my motivation comes from; I think it comes from the disciple of my routine understanding my “why.” I believe my health is important to me, so I make it a priority. Discipline is gained, learned, shapes over time. But, you HAVE to show up for yourself continually for that routine discipline to become your standard. 
I think it’s possible for anyone. Scratch that, I KNOW it is.

    I have a fussy eater in my family. He is getting much better as he gets older but boy was he a challenge when he was a toddler and young boy. It has always been a texture thing...and dare I say it a vegetable thing! One meal I could always feed him (every meal if I’d let him) would be my bolognese...no one else’s!! A trick I was taught from my Italian girlfriends Aunty (whom was an amazing Italian chef) was to boil the aromatics/vegetables in the tomatoes before adding to the mince. Once the vegetables where soft enough, you passed through a mouli, (alternatively purée, then pass through a sieve). The end result is a bolognese with all the flavour, but without the onion, celery veggie chunks that my little darlin would refuse to eat if spotted! Yes it’s another step you have to do, but I always make a huge pot of bolognese so I can freeze portions for quick go-to meals when I’m feeling less inspired to cook. .

    Lots of Spinach today! I started adding spinach again to my smoothies (you can not taste it) for lunch we had smoothies made with mango, bananas, blueberries, dates, spinach and coconut water. For dinner potato wedges, greens with barely any oil, and Quinoa Black bean burgers. #yummy #healthy #smoothie #drpraegers #spinach #vegan

Three years ago to the day, a boy broke up with me.  After the break up, I went through the worst depression I ever went through in my life.  Not because of anything the guy did, but because I had absolutely no self worth.  I didn’t think anyone could ever love me because I didn’t have any love for myself.

After the breakup I locked myself in my apartment for months and binged on sweets.  I was the heaviest I ever was in my life.  I wanted to drop out of university.  I stopped seeing my friends.  I gave up on life.

After months of feeling sorry for myself, I found kickboxing - not to lose weight, just for fun.  It was something that I enjoyed and it was actually therapeutic.  After going to class for a while, I started to naturally lose weight.  I started making friends with the members and little by little, I started feeling better about myself.  I started setting goals for myself and I started to achieve them.

After years of having absolutely no self worth, I finally started to feel powerful.  I started to believe in myself and I started love myself.  Now I feel good because I know I can do anything. #TighteningMyBelt 💪🏻

INGREDIENTS:
•280g jar red pepper antipasti •1 tin chickpeas (drained) •large pinch salt •1/2 squeezed lemon •1 large clove garlic •1/4 cup olive oil •dash cold water 
___
Simply blitz them up in a food processor and garnish with olive oil and chilli flakes. Then nose dive into that thing! ​.

    Snickers Stuffed Dates 😍 Packed with cashew butter, chopped cashews, and dark chocolate 💯 I love dates as an easy sweet snack to satisfy a craving- they’re super easy and v tasty 👌🏻 Cut them in half, take out the pit, stuff them with nut butter, dip in some melted chocolate, and then freeze for the best snack everrrr 💯 -

I just get mine at Aldi but you can find dates at lots of different stores 👌🏻 I ran into some bad storms + traffic so my 7 1/2 hour drive is slowly turning into 9 😅 Stopped now to walk the 🐶 and take a little break before powering through the home stretch 👊🏻 Thank goodness for snacks to keep me going 😂 Hope you guys had a good one! ❤️ -

#healthyrecipe details 👉🏻 I used 9 dates, I took out the pit, then I stuffed them with with a little bit of cashew butter (used 1/4 cup cashew butter total), 1/4 cup chopped cashews. Then I closed them, dipped them in a melted chocolate mixture: 1/4 cup of chocolate chips mixed with 1 tsp coconut oil. Then I sprinkled with some more cashews and put in the freezer for an hour. Store in the fridge or freezer! #paleo #glutenfree #choosingbalance
