The body is such an interesting thing😊 I was a great lover of the oatmeal and could not imagine how to start my day without it.
But last months I changed my breakfast and today for the first time after few months I cooked my oatmeal, as usual, with sesame paste and fruits. But I understood that I am totally indifferent and I could hardly finish my breakfast🤷🏻‍♀️That’s why I will leave oats for preparing pancakes, but buckwheat and quinoa will be my favourites😅

しっとりジューシー!鶏むね肉のみぞれ煮

鶏むね肉を大根おろしで煮込んだ一品。

鶏むね肉は片栗粉を薄くつけることで、
火を通しても驚くほどジューシーに!

■材料(2人分/20分)
・鶏むね肉:250g
・大根:150g
・片栗粉:大さじ1杯
・味付き塩こしょう:適量
・めんつゆ(3倍濃縮):大さじ1と1/2杯
・サラダ油:小さじ2杯
・小口ねぎ:適量
・七味唐辛子:適量

■下ごしらえ
・大根は皮をむきます。
・鶏むね肉は余分な脂と皮を取り除きます。

■作り方
①大根はすりおろします。
②鶏むね肉はひとくち大に切ります。味付き塩こしょうをかけ、片栗粉をまぶします。
③鍋にサラダ油を引き、②を火が通るまで7分ほど中火で炒めます。
④余分な油を拭き取り、①を加え全体が馴染んだら、めんつゆを入れ火から下ろします。器にもり、お好みで小口ねぎ、七味唐辛子を散らして完成です。

January and The Blues

Happy New Year to you all, and as the title suggests, the Blues. No not those Blues, but the Blues, post Christmas, Credit Card blues. Although I’m a great lover of Jazz myself, today we’re talking about the latter.

It’s that time of year when a lot of people consider changing lifestyle, moving home, jobs, losing weight, giving up habits such as smoking or maybe alcohol. The latest one this year of course is Veganuary, a couple of our customers at Chai Deli in Mumbles have confessed to not wanting their usual carnivore option for a more Earth friendly alternative.

Back to The Blues, what triggers this? We’ve had this discussion in the shop, where “soap boxes” arrive in the spadeful, opinions abound. Some say it’s because there’s such a build up to the Holiday period which lasts all of a day maybe two and then it’s gone. This year because of family illnesses we put our Christmas feast on hold, and to be honest felt a lot better for it, no food overload, booze soaked after feeling. By the way everyone has turned a corner and we have a new addition to the family a granddaughter which as you can imagine has really cheered us up hugely.

Others speak of the dark depressing shortness of daylight hours, to add to this this year the weather has been very wet and miserable, oh and of course another General Election. Lots of people and I was one of them believed that as soon as we had the shortest day the mornings would start to get lighter, but no, whilst the evenings start to give us a glimmer of hope it’s the opposite for the mornings which continue to get darker for a few weeks more.

So prey tell us , what triggers your January Blues, or do you enjoy the darkness of the winter and relish hunkering down with a steamy cup of Gower Tea and a good book?

Quando anche la tua amica è a dieta... fai vellutate come se non ci fosse un domani ———————————————————————————
Crema di zucca e carote con ricotta di capra, riso venere e scorza di limone
& Crema di broccoli e zucchine con riso venere e semi vari———————————————————————————
Ho cotto zucca e carote al forno, poi le ho passate allungandole con acqua e quasi tutta la ricotta di capra (mi serve come parte proteica al posto della carne) per ottenere una crema omogenea. Una volta pronta la crema l’ho riscaldata aggiungendo zenzero, noce moscata. Impiattato con riso venere, scorza di limone tagliata super fine e olio a crudo. La vellutata di broccoli e zucchine è invece fatta cuocendo la verdura con un po’ di acqua (che poi uso per ridurla in crema) e insaporita con noce moscata, pepe, olio a crudo e semi tostati. Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Here’s what’s on repeat in my meal-prepped breakfasts this week: chia pudding, @parisiaustralia strawberries, @cherryhill_orchards cherries and homemade mixed nut and seed butter made in my @luvelelife blender! All the deets below:

CHIA PUD
Mix 4 tbsp chia seeds with 7 tbsp milk/mylk of choice, 2 tbsp greek or dairy-free yoghurt and 1 tsp maple syrup. Stir, seal container and leave overnight to set.

MIXED NUT BUTTER
Combine 1/2 cup raw almonds, 1/2 cup raw cashews, 3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds and a handful of brazil nuts on a baking tray. Bake at 180ºC for 10 minutes, until lightly toasted. Remove and allow to cool. Once cool, I used my @luvelelife blender on ‘Nut’ mode to blend until a smooth, silky texture formed. This took about 7 minutes total. Plus, you can add in a little more variety and substitute some tree-nuts out for more sustainable seeds, like sunflower seeds or pumpkin seeds. A few tips:
🌰make sure you roast your nuts, as this allows them to release their natural oils.
🌰you WILL need a high-power blender to make this. I would not attempt this with a NutriBullet. I personally love & recommend my @luvelelife Vibe blender.
🌰a lot of people complain about the clean-up with homemade nut butter - to make this easier, once you’ve scraped out as much as you can from the blender jar, pour in a few cups of water with a squeeze of washing up liquid and blend. Way quicker than trying to clean it by hand!

Happy Tuesday! I hope your week is going well. Here’s what’s on repeat in my meal-prepped breakfasts this week: chia pudding, @parisiaustralia strawberries, @cherryhill_orchards cherries and homemade mixed nut and seed butter made in my @luvelelife blender! All the deets below:

CHIA PUD
Mix 4 tbsp chia seeds with 7 tbsp milk/mylk of choice, 2 tbsp greek or dairy-free yoghurt and 1 tsp maple syrup. Stir, seal container and leave overnight to set.

MIXED NUT BUTTER
Combine 1/2 cup raw almonds, 1/2 cup raw cashews, 3/4 cup raw sunflower seeds and a handful of brazil nuts on a baking tray. Bake at 180ºC for 10 minutes, until lightly toasted. Remove and allow to cool. Once cool, I used my @luvelelife blender on ‘Nut’ mode to blend until a smooth, silky texture formed. This took about 7 minutes total. Gdybyście mieli wybrać, jedno z najlepszych połączeń smakowych, to co by to było? 🤔 w sumie mam tego mnóstwo, ale dziś zdecydowanie stawiam na 🍒+🍫 - oba składniki na gorąco.. no poranek idealny ❤ przy okazji muszę pochwalić się, że przełamujemy z mąką kasztanową bariery, i chyba zaczynamy się lubić i dogadywać przy schodzeniu z patelni 😅 aczkolwiek, nie zapeszając, muszę powiedzieć, że mieliście rację, wypieki z nią są takie pyszne, szkoda, że sama mąka taka droga 😭 dziś w towarzystwie gryczanej, obie robią robotę 👌 macie przepis, a belgijską, gorzką czekoladę z wiśniami obowiązkowo proszę wypróbować! .

1 jajko, 45g mąki kasztanowej, 20g mąki gryczanej, szczypta pdp, szczypta cynamonu, łyżka erytrytolu, mleko/napój roślinny 120ml, woda gazowana do konsystencji. Miksujemy wszystko razem, jak ciasto na tradycyjne, pszenne. Odstawiamy na mniej więcej pół godziny, aby składniki się związały. Smażymy na natłuszczonej patelni (baaaardzo ważny punkt!) na małym ogniu, przez krótki czas. .

If you decide to make these I suggest making them just before bed and letting them sit overnight because for whatever reason, they are better the next day. I find this is the case with almost any baked good made with protein powders. You could swap the chocolate chips for blueberries if you wish and it would cut out roughly 140 calories.⁣⁣

Here’s how to make them. ⁣⁣
INGREDIENTS⁣⁣
1 cup (80g) oats⁣⁣
2/3 cup (150g) plain Greek yogurt ⁣⁣
2 ripe (250g) bananas ⁣⁣
1 scoop (30g) whey ⁣⁣
1 egg⁣⁣
1 tsp (4mL) vanilla ⁣⁣
1 tsp (4g) baking powder⁣⁣
1 tsp (4g) stevia ⁣⁣
2 tbsp (30g) dark chocolate chips ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
PREP⁣⁣
1. Preheat your oven to 350F. ⁣⁣
2. In a blender, add the oats and pulverize into a flour. Add in the remainder of the ingredients minus the chocolate chips and blend until smooth. ⁣⁣
3. Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray and fill the wells half way with the batter. It will make 9-10 Muffins. ⁣⁣
4. Top each with some dark chocolate chips. ⁣⁣
5. Bake for 20-22 minutes. ⁣⁣
6. The Muffins will be better after they sit overnight. ⁣⁣

❗️These are literally called Banana Bread Muffins. It is the primary ingredient in the recipe. Just make regular muffins. ⁣⁣
