Ran the Northface as hard as I could today. 48 min up, 31 min down consecutively. That’s my PR and although there are faster times out there, I’m proud of it... Despite my heart, the smoke, a bruised meniscus, and the dogs slowing me down!
I do like to voice my adversities BECAUSE I can’t wait to see what I can do after all this training, a few actual rest days, and the perfect conditions... but life isn’t always perfect, so do what you love everyday!!! ⛰ ⛰
⛰
⛰
I love being in the mountains.
Feeling the rocks beneath the souls of my shoes and the world out there muffled by the haphazardly beating in my chest.
When I burn so hard my calves sweat and when that sweat mixes with the dust on the ground it leaves me muddy.
How bitter sweet those small dips are in between each massive climb as a time to rest my lungs just for a moment.
I love a cold drink of water that quenches my thirst. Breathing in the fresh alpine air. Feeling the kiss of the sun. Knowing I’m getting everything my body and soul needs in one moment and believing there is no place I’d rather be than on that hunk of rock.
I love my cattle dogs and being with them in their truest form - frolicking unhindered by a leash, rolling in the tundra and dust, chasing dragon flies, and laying in cool creek beds.
I love how I’ve replaced prescription meds in just two months. The new remedy is purely adrenaline, and endorphins. Mother Nature. Burning out anything that does not serve me; expelling it via sweat and lactic acid.
I love how this clarity has me living in the moment. Step by step picking the perfect line or route.
I love adventure and pushing myself. The mountains, this place, Alaska is where I can do both as far and as long as my body can bear and my gear will hold... For this I am grateful. For this I am whole. For this I am healed. ⛰

#cairns ... one to mark our path down the Lost Falls creek bed and the other signifying that I’ll never lose my way.

Whewwww! Another SoLowe Hike down. Destroyed my last time by 15 mins and didn’t stop at all to rest for too long. Very proud of this and excited that I’m able to get out and do almost 4 miles with elevation after not too long ago I hardly could walk outside for 2 mins and wanted to go back inside the house ha! Loving this! ❤️#hike #solowe #solo #goals #outdoors #pnw #pacificnorthwest
