    I had a weak moment last night when I saw a picture of my legs in shorts; they looked so big. My brain is so trained to think skinny that I’m constantly having to say over and over to myself #strongnotskinny my legs are bigger because I’m building muscle! There are other parts of my body that have gotten skinnier; like my face! And that I LOVE. I’m only focusing on positivity! And learning day by day, to “Drown out all the negativity.” As @shaunt says.💪🏼💦 Conquering your mind is the real challenge, anyone can achieve physical strength; but do you have mental strength?

I lot of people need to chill out a little and take a step back/ have some perspective.

Bros and brodettes be like “you gotta want it” “yeah I’m taking myself to the limit”. And that’s okay, but what else are you doing in life? What happens when (key word... when) you’re injured or can’t train with the same #intensity ?

In saying that, Yes there are others on the opposite end of the scale whom may need to not be so afraid to step up to the plate (gym) because a hobbie (something so positive for you like exercise/ resistance training) doesn’t have to be torturous and all consuming.

3-5 sessions a week, 30- 60 minute sessions. Varying intensities and prioritising large muscle groups (compound movements)

    Here’s a photo of me that I hate and would have never wanted to post...and here’s why!

I’ve been a Trainer for over 10years in this time so much has changed within the industry and the information that’s available has been a blessing and curse. I’ve felt a massive amount of pressure and also information overload. It’s made me reconsider my coaching methods, views and also information I’ve provided which has been challenging I won’t lie.

I’ve struggled to post on Instagram and share any information because of feeling like an imposter and so much self doubt, so I’ve become ok with the pictures of myself and sharing information even though I’m not the smartest or the best, I’m ok that I’m not always motivated or the strongest and fittest.

Instead of feeling like I need to be someone other then me I’m learning to accept me and all of me and even though I’m far off being the best coach, partner, uni student, friend and family member I’m accepting all parts of me good and bad. 
I’m so thankful that I’m surrounded by amazing coaches @squatclubau who continually challenge me and help me be a better coach to my clients.

    Slow wave sleep??

Slow wave sleep (SWS) is in the family of non-rapid eye movement (nREM) sleep. The majority of this sleep occurs in the first half of your nighttime sleep. .
Slow wave sleep is the portion of sleep responsible for growth hormone release - growth hormone playing a role in recovery (indirect anabolism via IGF-1 stimulation). .

Slow wave sleep is typically around 10-20% of your total sleep duration. Obviously it depends on how long you sleep as to whether or not it will be 10 to 20% (some recommend no less than 20%) of your total sleep. This is where the difference in sleep quality versus quantity comes into play. Sleeping a lot does not necessarily mean that you are getting quality sleep. Sometimes quality sleep is determined by the amount of slow wave sleep both magnitude and percentage. .
The bottom image, is the brainwave in Delta, which is associated with deep sleep. When looking at QEEG brain recordings, this brain wave is most prominent during SWS sleep stage. Find ways to not just get a good number of hours of sleep, but also good quality sleep. .
