The pink and olive-green Elephant Hawk-moth is named after the caterpillar’s resemblance to an elephant’s trunk. #MothsMatter

The adults are nocturnal, flying from dusk in May to early August. Elephant Hawk-moths feed from honeysuckle and other tubular flowers on the wing. Caterpillars can be found on Rosebay Willowherb and fuchsias.

    Well..WHAT a start we’ve had #hikingfornature ✨
We have already covered a HUGE distance through ancient woodland, beach, marsh and rugged cliff faces! North Devon is extraordinarily beautiful, but has also been extremely challenging! And we are already battered and bruised! The constant climbs and descents have been testing to say the least carrying 15Kg 🥴🤦🏻‍♀️😂 But we have also seen so much!
✨
Buzzards soaring overhead, surrounded by meadow brown butterflies, dor beetles, bumblebees, meadow pipets and even a little woodmouse! 🥰 The sheer abundance of species along the path myself and @sophiepavs have spotted has been extraordinary! We want our wild areas to stay wild - and that is why we are doing this crazy mission, to help build a #WilderFuture 💚
✨
Thank you EVERYONE for your support - it’s been incredible! Another 25 miles tomorrow! 🤦🏻‍♀️🥴😂🦊
