We are a nation of tea drinkers and there is nothing better than to relax and unwind with a refreshing cuppa! ~
Many of my clients struggle with achieving quality levels of relaxation & sleep. Modern lifestyles often do not allow time for the natural post relaxation period after a hectic morning or even afternoon, so I often suggest carving out a few minutes of your day for a mindful cup of tea (I chose sencha green tea, matcha), coffee (I love a macchiato with almond milk) or a latte (we are now spoilt for choice with charcoal, matcha, turmeric, etc).

A few minutes of my day spent sipping a matcha or sencha green enables me to function better (me-time / self love mindset is definitely a booster) & gives my adrenals (these release cortisol & adrenaline allowing my body to react to stress) a well-deserved & restorative rest. L-theanine found in g r e e n  sencha tea 🌱 has anti-stress effects, calming & promoting relaxation through an increase in a l p h a - w a v e s = wakeful relaxation and enhancing m o o d. Well that’s what I had to do last weekend. Sunday I woke up super stressed with everything I had to get done in the upcoming week, including a big uni assignment! My mood was suffering because I was overwhelmed so when my family asked me to join them at the markets my first response was that I had to stay in my room and work all day - way to brighten the mood!⠀

I started on my work and really got clear about the tasks ahead and began to feel much better. After a productive hour I decided that one little market trip would improve my mood and change the days to come.⠀

Sometimes it might not seem like you have time for mental health, but I promise you that if you don’t make time for it you will have no choice but to make even more time when it all builds up comes crashing down on you.⠀

    "For anyone who cries for themselves to sleep every night - for anyone who wakes up each morning wishing they hadn't -for anyone whose heart feels like an open wound .  who anyone who thinks life wouldnt be better without 'em. For anyone bleeding misery from the inside out .For anyone who feels lonelier by a sec. For anyone who questions their existence .For anyone who who suffers hurricanes and tornados on the most beautiful days. I've been there.I get it. I remember pray to God out loud recently and I shocked myself when the words "some days I think I'm fine but most days my heart feels like it's drowning . Today feels like death-only less people remembering to love me" come out .Although I've never been suicidal I've dipped in and out of depression .I've wondered when the pain will go away. I'be wondered if I was normal .Or if this feeling was normal. 
The word is on my back and I'm too much exhausted to move, to try, to live , I'm fortunate to believe in that god that helps people every single day .But anyone who feels hopeless and helpless..... There is hope .. Things will get better once .. Don't cut yourself short by believing you have no purpose in this world . You are special. We all are.. Never stop searching for your happy place .And you will find it once-keep it close .And please make homes out of something you can keep close forever- not someone who is temporary💕

    Every morning I sit down and start my day with growth, personal development, and affirmations. 
This morning I felt so called to share the wisdom from Rachel Hollis... I know SO MANY of you will relate and NEED to hear this. * MEDIOCRE will always attack EXCELLENCE * HURT people... HURT people * People who are hurting try to hurt other people * ONLY INSECURE people attack other people * Not one more day is going to go by, that I am comparing myself to someone else’s life
* Not one more day am I going to carry shame

    “Self Care” is a term that gets thrown around a lot nowadays. While it can refer to a bubble bath, a spa day, or a facial... it can also look very different than just pampering yourself.

Self care is also saying no to an event when your schedule is overloaded. It can mean saying yes to coffee with a friend that you haven’t seen in months. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It could be having a nutritious, healthy salad for lunch after a weekend of overindulgence. It could also mean having ice cream for dinner and giving zero f***s about calories (true story: we did that 2 nights ago)

It could be picking up the phone and calling your mom to vent. It could also be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb and not talking to anyone for a day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It could be reading a book. Praying. Meditating. Or even watching reality tv 🤷‍♀️

Self care takes many forms. It is not just a cutesy term for a Sunday night face mask. It is listening to your body and spirit. It’s doing what you need to do to breathe deeply, reconnect with your true self, and find your smile again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

    My cat is sick. We aren’t sure how long he will be here. I fell in love with him at first sight and he has been my therapy cat, sweet furry friend, and loving companion ever since.

Over the last few days, I’ve noticed myself distancing from him. Not letting him make me smile as much. Not feeling the fullness of my love for him. It makes me think of two things: anticipatory grief and foreboding joy.

Anticipatory grief (grief before loss) can include more anger and atypical grief responses (this is hard to actually measure because grief responses are anything but ‘typical’). We often begin grieving way before loss (loss of all kinds). Anticipating loss brings up complex emotions and even physical experiences – for me, it’s always an achy chest and a heaviness in my shoulders and soul.

I also think of how anticipatory grief often innately creates foreboding joy, or a pushing away of joy. @brenebrown has spoken on this before and I find it to be such an important topic – looking at the moments we push away or minimize or deny joy because we know it isn’t permanent and we’re afraid of what will happen when it goes away. Not feeling it at all often feels safer than allowing it, knowing it will pass.

I wonder, then, if an antidote to anticipatory grief is fully committing to our joy, even though we know it will leave. I wonder if an antidote to loss is allowing ourselves to fully immerse ourselves in what we have when we have it, not because it will make the loss easier but because it will make us more alive. I wonder if a way to ease the certainty of grief is to know we loved with everything we had.

In realizing this, I’m working on letting the joy in. On letting his nuzzles warm my heart. On connecting with him and noticing his little quirks that make me so grateful to have him in my life, no matter how much longer it’s for. On letting joy be as full as it is, not only with my cat but with my life.

Loss is a reminder of joy —in fact, I think the very reason loss hurts so much is because the joy felt so full. Let’s let our joy be a signifier of how much we loved, and let’s let how much loss hurts be a reminder of how deeply we felt it all. ✨
