For the longest time I was angry with myself. As a child I couldn’t understand why my mom would take her own life. It hurt me so deeply, and blamed myself every day.💔It took many years to find peace in my situation and to forgive myself. Eventually as I aged I knew it wasn’t my fault but I still needed to forgive myself for treating myself terribly. And most importantly learn to love me & treat myself kindly.🤗Today my reminder to all of YOU is love yourself HARD, and if you don’t find do some self care and keep practicing until you feel loved by yourself!❤️

Thinking like this is called indulging in confusion.⠀

But you’re not confused. You’ve lost faith in yourself and are in a negative thought loop preventing you from making any forward progress.⠀

Whatever you chose was the right decision, simply because it’s the decision you made. Commit to it. Have your own back. Put in the work and don’t stop until you get there. ⠀

Until then, there are two ways you can proceed: stay in the thought loop and second guess yourself the entire time. Or you can think you made the right choice, believe you’re on the right path and know everything is playing out to your advantage. ⠀

Which thoughts are more fun to think? Which ones inspire you to keep going? Which ones eliminate the worry? ⠀

You’ve heard the saying, “the mind is a terrible thing to waste,” and it’s also a terrible thing to leave unchecked. An undisciplined, misguided and underutilized mind is a poor shot, disastrous hole, or lost match waiting to happen. With the right training you can learn how to make your golf mindset your secret weapon.⠀

Why Your Mindset Matters⠀

Experts agree that golf is 90% mental; sadly most golfers don’t consistently work on their mental game skills. The glitches, hiccups, and errors in your game are less often the result of poor technique. More often bad shots are due to your poor thought habits short-circuiting your ability to swing freely and consistently.⠀

#1 – Start Playing with an Opportunistic Outlook⠀

When you visualize a realistic flight path all the way to a single desired target, you will see that there’s nothing blocking your shot’s path. Simply put, there are no obstacles in golf unless you create them in your mind. The next time you catch yourself thinking about the worst-case scenarios over the ball, step away for a moment to clarify your desired outcome, then lock onto your target and go!⠀

#2 – Make Confidence a Choice, Not an Option⠀

To swing with confidence, you must first choose to think confidently about your swing. And you can because you have a memory bank full of shots you’ve hit well in the past. So stop letting your memories of the misses eclipse your good memories. When you begin doubting your ability, take a moment to reflect on the last time you hit a shot with conviction, determination and success. The more you reflect on your strengths and great moments, the greater your ability to repeat them.⠀

#3 – Play for You⠀

The more you detail every shot plan, the less likely you are to hit errant shots that increase the quantity of strokes in a round. If you need more time to prepare then shorten the amount of time you spend chatting it up with your playing partners. When you consider that you’re actually playing golf for only 15 minutes during a 4-hour round you’ve got loads of time to approach every shot with more quality.⠀

While this is true, its absolutely not something that happens overnight. Just like physical change, most expect this kind of change to happen immediately and that's just simply not the case. It has taken me up until now, from start 1 year and 8 months later to achieve a healthy mindset THAT I CONTINUE TO WORK ON EACH DAY! I know I've had growth but I also know theirs so much more to come. Just like a healthy lifestyle...you need to maintain a healthy mindset..its long term maintenance.
So today I want you to think of one way you can work on your #mindeset. That could be a devotional, daily task for better habits, spending more time with your family. Whatever it is, where are you starting today?

One of the most common things I hear people say is, “When I am ready I’ll start.” “When my kids get older and I have the right resources I’ll start.” Listen to me... if you wait to be ready you are never going to start because that same motivation, inspiration, hunch, idea, or intuition won’t be there tomorrow. Think about it. We have this motivation to start the gym and what do we usually say?, “I’ll wait for Monday because it looks better on the calendar.” When I started my journey three years ago although I didn’t know this at the time I started right away. One of the most common things I hear people say is, “When I am ready I’ll start.” “When my kids get older and I have the right resources I’ll start.” Listen to me... if you wait to be ready you are never going to start because that same motivation, inspiration, hunch, idea, or intuition won’t be there tomorrow. Think about it. We have this motivation to start the gym and what do we usually say?, “I’ll wait for Monday because it looks better on the calendar.” When I started my journey three years ago although I didn’t know this at the time I started right away. Give your program a chance.. too often, we start healthier habits and then quit after two weeks because we feel as though "it isnt "working". Changing your habits and body takes TIME. Progression is never linear.. And if you are not progressing.. ask yourself.. 1. Am I giving it 100% effort?
2. Can I maintain this regimen longterm?
3. Am I setting unrealistic expectations in q short amount of time?

Its easy to get discourage but trust in the process, especially if you truly believe you ate giving it your ALL

I strongly believe in my 5 TIPS TO MOTIVATE YOURSELF, keep on reading…
1. BUILD your enthusiasm. Happiness it's a matter of training: you can literally decide everyday to feel enthusiastic and happy or not. No one will make you feel happy if you don't decide to be so. If you start training yourself everyday it will get easier and easier day by day.
2. START small if big leads you procrastinating. It's so common to procrastinate something when we have to face big tasks. So, if a big task scares you try to divide it into small other tasks: it will help you to start them!
3. GET rewarded. Celebrate every little victory, even the smallest ones. When you collect small wins it will boost your self esteem and you'll feel that you are capable to accomplish the things that you start. It will help you to start new challenges in the future.
4. GET motivation from people in your life. The people who surround you influence your life. So, surround yourself with people that stimulate and encourage you: a positive environment is what you need to grow.
5. BE KIND to yourself when you stumble. The way to your goals is not linear: there will be up and downs. There will be moments in which you'll need to stop and take a deep breath. In those moments take care of yourself: relax and be kind with yourself. Then, when you'll feel ok, keep going!

Most of us are living in survival mode.

We don’t know it. Our emotions, our inner world, and our intuition aren’t acknowledged. As children, we enter into homes that rarely speak to emotional regulation or resilience. Then we enter school systems that condition us to ignore everything but the thinking mind. We are conditioned to memorize and categorize. So begins the stream of incessant thinking. So begins the disconnection from self.

Add in childhood trauma (which is deeply misunderstood and under-identified) and now the body is dysregulated. Now there’s coping mechanisms and unconscious reactions that aren’t in response to the current moment. They’re in response to the past. That’s where the body now is, the past. So is the mind. Trapped in a cycle. Unable to be in the present moment.

Survival mode is so common it looks “normal.” It looks like it is just the human experience. Just listen to music or turn on a popular tv show and there it is. It’s rage, lying, numbing, betraying, and avoiding. Forgetting that what we do to another, we do to ourselves. Without exception.

Healing allows us to transition from survival into choice. With more choice, we soften. We’re more kind. We have more empathy. @eckharttolle references conscionessness in the Bible: “forgive them, for they know not what they do.” This applies to yourself, too. Forgive yourself for what the conditioned version of yourself did in an attempt to cope.
