Do what take you out of your comfort zone. Todays session was awesome. I push myself to keep going on the bike. I got up to speed 13 while I didn't stay there very long, I still did it. I also did the sneaker shuffle 😂

Bonus of going on a Sunday lunchtime, gym to myself.
I feel amazing and knackered.
I bought myself a Fitbit for Christmas and I love it. Burned 600 calories and 85-100 fat burn. Ending 2019 on a high.

I don't drink much..... but when I do I make sure it's out of a fish bowl glass. I'm classy like that. 🤣

There's no coincidence that at this time of year often people complain a little more about pain here and there. Your back pain might be playing up, sciatica, shoulder giving you grief?
There's always a reason why these things come up and at this time of year it might be due to a few of these guys.
1. A few extra cheeky drinks. I have no problem with my clients drinking, they're big enough to make their own decisions. Lol I do however tell them that alcohol may be the cause of inflammation in their body.
2. You're getting smashed at work which leads to stress and that also causes inflammation.
3. You're eating out more than normal at social functions or buying lunches where you'd normally cook.
4. You may not get along with some family members and feel obliged to socialise with them, again increasing stress and tension in your body. Left side is female, right side is male.
5. You might be training too intensly on top of an already stressed system. If your body is stressed, then you add training, which can be a stress itself, you can soon be doing overdoing it.
So how do we keep up with the busy lifestyle and stay on top and even still enjoy the silly season?
1. Choose the best options in alcohol. Don't mix spirits with sugary drinks.
2. Drink plenty of filtered water daily. 0.033 x body weight = daily requirement normally.
3. Take magnesium baths or swim in the ocean to reduce inflammation.
4. Cold showers! This is one of the simplest methods to add to your day and is incredible for inflammation, pain, metabolism and heat regulation (hello menopausal women). 5. Say no to functions or situations where you know you will feel uncomfortable. Or stay away from people who grate you the wrong way.
6. Eat to nourish your body. If you're out, choose the best options available to you. Sure, endulge occassionally, but indulging everyday is quickly going to stack up. Prepare your meals in advance if you know you will be busy or order food prep delivery services or organic veggie boxes delivered to your home. Save time!

This morning I did strength 25 & shift core! I decided to really push and increase weight. With a shorter workout, I can challenge myself more and it feels great! 😊

It’s a gift to move your body. 🏃🏻‍♀️ Now I’m in my 3 third trimester and i’m loving what this body can do...it’s making a little human. But man, I can’t wait to plank, HIT and roll and release again. 💪🏻 The good news is, I don’t have to travel to a gym. While my new little sleeps, I can go to my living room and workout using my online workouts. 😍

Yay for the weekend and not making lunches 🥪
Got all the leaves raked and hauled off today🍁 Fall is rough when you have a crap load of trees that lose leaves 😭 Anyways....This wasn’t my plan for today, I wanted to do arms and abs, but it turned into this. Chest and back supersets.

Descending ladder of 10-1 for each combo. Complete the ladder before moving on to the next combo.

I’ll call this workout, buncha buff boys in the free weight room. I don’t care how long I’ve been going to this gym, get enough grunting males in a room and I’m gonna ✌🏼⁣
So, this is a perfect one for at home or when grunty men take over the gym. Grab a couple dumbbells and get ready to burn off a least a couple tacos. ⁣
Set 1 • lunge with front and lateral raise x 6 each side⁣
Set 2 • curtsy lunge x 12 each side, squat curls x 12 ⁣
Set 3 • straight leg dead lift (squeeze those glutes at the top) x 12, jump squat x 12 ⁣
Set 4 • push up row x 12, tricep push x 12 ⁣
Set 5 • weighted sit up x 12, toe tap abs x 12 each side ⁣
Repeat 4 times then go eat some queso 🌮

#barre is life dear friends!!! There is so much you can do to make it more or less challenging, depending on the tools you use! Had a smaller 2nd class today which gave me the flexibility to have people try a little more complicated moves, today’s fun was blocks and bender balls! 🥰 the filmed sequence here burns SO GOOD and was such a great challenge to your stability and neuromuscular control!

Lastly I want to talk about flexibility... ever since I started to teach so many days a week, I’m finally getting some flexibility into these muscles!!! It feels so good to loosen everything up and get that blood flowing!!! It doesn’t take a lot, but regular practice a few days a week and my goodness what a difference it can make. *

Wanting to lose weight isn’t a bad thing, and in some cases it can be healthy. I think a lot of people are getting this body positivity movement a little twisted. They're using is as an excuse to be complacent. "Well I love my curves, I don't want to lose weight so I don't need to eat healthy or workout." When in reality, loving your body is moving it, it's fueling it properly and yes, that doesn't have to mean weight loss. It really doesn't have anything to do with weight. It has to do with taking care of yourself.⁠⠀

BUT I am seeing women being shamed for wanting to lose weight and that's not ok. I hate when people feel guilty for wanting to achieve a certain goal. "If you say you love your body, why would you want to lose weight? You should be happy with where you're at." Crazy as it might seem, it is possible to love your body and want more for it. In your case if fat loss helps your body function more efficiently and actually helps you become healthier, work for it. Muscle gain, fat loss, maintenance, whatever your goal may be, don't ever let someone shame you out of your goals. ⁠⠀

I'd be lying if I didn't say I wanted to lose a few pounds ever since I got surgery. Quite frankly I NEED to if I want to still be a flyweight. 👊🏼😜 Yes I love my body. I like how it looks, but I also know how it FEELS & FUNCTIONS when I'm a few pounds lighter (and when I actually have a quad muscle instead of jello). ⁠⠀

When you’re creating your goals, keep in mind that fat loss doesn't always equal weight loss and unless you're in a weight sensitive sport, what your body weighs truly doesn't mean a whole lot. Focus more on how your body is functioning than how much it weighs.⠀

Our struggles and our victories all look different. 💕Always remember, especially during this time of year, to be kind and just a LITTLE more compassionate and caring while you’re out and about/dealing with a stranger or family member or friend. You never know what another person is going through or recently overcame. Smile at people, say hi, or just ask how their day is if you’re at a checkout or drive through. Not just that, but CELEBRATE those around you and yourself. Don’t dim someone’s happiness or try to take away from a milestone because you are having a bad day. Be happy for others. 🌟 We all are overcoming something or working to achieve something that others may know nothing about. I shared answers to a question I asked on my story earlier asking y’all to tell me something you were proud of in 2019 and DAMN- I was so impressed and happy to read these. 🌟 Whether you paid off debt, cut off toxic people, got a new job, faced a fear, or just got through your days when you didn’t want to, we ALL struggle and we all deserve to celebrate our victories. 💕

A good workout starts with a good mindset and a good sports bra 💪🏽 #ad We put SO much work into showing up for ourselves in the gym and to stay active, and the last thing I need is for my outfit to give me a hard time. @shefitapparel designed the first FULLY adjustable sports bra for women of all sizes 🙌🏽💕 The straps are velcro so you can make them as tight and secure as you need. My workouts are so much better when I feel confident and comfortable in what I’m wearing!

Working 🤸🏼‍♀️ in! After my handstand training last year I became devoted to working into a handstand BUT I let go of incorporating them smoothly into my yoga practice! .
I’ve talked to many who either a) practice handstands separately from their yoga practice or b) only practice handstands during a yoga practice. I was in camp A 🤸🏼‍♀️ and the latter often doesn’t leave you enough time to gain noticeable results. Also, I only jumped off my good leg and really just focused on a straight line (shame shame on me!)

Now I’m over here making all the efforts to not only work BOTH sides but also lots of entrances, how to recover from wobbles, AND incorporating them into my flows as much as possible (Surya As and Bs anyone?!)! Feel pretty jazzed about reawakening my practice and blending both camps! .

I am so grateful to be here alive. Yesterday morning I was involved in a serious car accident and had to get thirteen stitches and three staples to the head. At times I take life for granted... worry about little things that in fact really don’t matter. We are so fragile... one second we are here, and the next gone. We don’t know when it’s going to be our last. Appreciate more. Love more. Be more. Each day, is a new day.... How can we live our fullest? Be our fullest? Love our fullest?

After a year of dedicating myself to the one arm handstand, i finally feel comfortable enough to do them combined with my other movement practices. What this means to me is that my body is finally remembering patterns more easily, and it takes less focus, more trust. Do things repetitiously for long periods of time and the body intelligence takes over. Slowly... but surely!There’s such a rewarding feeling when you work SO hard at something for so long. Stay at it my friends! Now.. it’s time to go celebrate a 10 year old bday party with @chelseasyoga and her little ones! Time to let the little kid in me come out to play!
