Laura Muntz - “The Pink Dress” 1897

Seems to be a lack of serene places here in Karachi. I know there's tons of negative to say about this city, only a week ago we were facing the horrendous aftereffects of rain that literally shut down everything and now flies seem to have taken over the city. I believe there is one redeeming factor though: its history.
.
TDF ghar (short for the dawood foundation) was built in the 30s and owned by a Hindu woman Motiram Bai. She sold it to another woman called Hajiani Hanifia Bai after whom it was left abandoned for years until TDF renovated it. The area where this house is located itself used to be home to a number of religions and ethnicities; Muslim, Hindu, Parsi and Christian. Just tells you about the diverse history of Karachi and it's ability to absorb people of all backgrounds. Let's make it that, a hub of tolerance and acceptance rather than one of turmoil and distrust. .
.
History lesson over I'd like to say do visit this place it's awesome and like a visit to the past. There's still furniture and items from pre partition times. The entry fee is Rs. 50 and there's a cool little dining space where you can get very affordable food. Lastly I got alot of DMs about this place so hoping you guys will interact on the post just as much :').

Daniel Buren at Villa Celle in Pistoia, Toscany | The reflecting outside blends in with the surrounding nature. The colourful inside, on the other hand, is a maze of shades in which to blend. The piece is part of the amazing landart collection owned by Giuliano Gori and inhabiting the amazing english gardens of his 15th century villa. [ndc]

The painting forms a full-length double portrait, believed to depict the Italian merchant Giovanni di Nicolao Arnolfini and his wife, presumably in their home in the Flemish city of Bruges.
(...)
It is considered one of the most original and complex paintings in Western art, because of its beauty, complex iconography, geometric orthogonal perspective, and expansion of the picture space with the use of a mirror. 📖📲(link in a bio)

The Arnolfini Portrait by Jan van Eyck 1434 🎀 Also, we want to wish romantic wedding wishes for newly married couples: @_aniasz & @emporio_son_of_giorgio and @karapucz & @jonojubb 🎀

    Floating Felucca - Part 4.

As your ship drifts towards the city you wipe your blade with a rag to clean the blood off. The taste of mercury in your mouth is bitter as you spit out another mouthful of dark liquid. The battle is over.

Your ship is the lone survivor after defending the city from the Sea Peoples who plagued Egypt.

The year is 1178 BC. Ramesses III ordered you to keep the people of Egypt safe. “Defend your King, Tarqa” said Ramesses as you knelt down before him. Take our ships and drive your spear into the heart of our enemies. Let them know that Egypt stands tall and bows to no one”. The words of the Pharaoh resonated through you. You managed to repel the dreaded Sea Peoples. But it came at a price. You rub your eyes as you lean against the side of your ship. You look down at your waist where you are clutching a deep, deathly wound that will surly take your life.

A slight smile passes over your lips. The warm blood covers your hand and doesn’t show signs of slowing its flow. Your mortal wound doesn’t hurt anymore. “You and your people are safe, my king” you say.

Before closing your eyes forever.

    Take a peek 🤩🌈✨ I'm #dressedtomatch Richard Jackson's work at @crockerart wearing @trinaturk⚡️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There are only two days left to see "Big Ideas: Richard Jackson's Alleged Paintings" at the @crockerart Museum! 💥 The exhibition is playful and ironic, heavily influenced by Abstract Expressionism and action painting, and questions traditions in the contemporary art world 🎨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Also - if you want a dress that will basically match anything colorful - this is the one 🌈🌈 So far I matched a @gigcarshare, Richard Jackson's work, and who knows what next! 😜 It’s on SALE too so I’ll link it in my stories 🎉
