📆Day 39📅 and my grind was totally Fine 💪🏽 I did all that I could to avoid tampering with my knee 😔... my glutes are rounding out nicely that I am happy about. I was worried about losing it when my lower body was slowed down. 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽But it's still there 😂😂😂 #grind #stillgoing #nodaysoff

At the end of the day, fat loss inescapably comes down to CICO (Calories in, Calories out). It is both remarkably simple and complicated all at the same time. .

I inwardly cringe when I hear “this or that food makes me fat” no one food will make you fat, consistent overconsumption will make you fat, even if you’re consuming the healthiest foods on the planet. .
.
I hit a plateau a few months ago and I was sure I was doing everything right. Because of my background as a nutrition coach, I believe I have a better than average grasp on my own consumption and portions and as a trainer, I thought I had an equally solid handle on my energy expenditures...that is until I began tracking data with my #whoopstrap .
.
The eye-opener for me was to see how my metabolism has adapted to changes in my nutrition and activity. Using the most common formulas based on my RMR, age, activity level, etc, my maintenance calories usually work out to be around 2400/day. Truth is that’s about a 400 calorie surplus. .
.
Just as we (collectively) tend to underestimate the calories we consume, we tend to overestimate the calories we expend. I have easily dropped 5 pounds in the past month as a result of being able to make nutrition choices based on better data. I am curious to see how this will play out when I get my next DEXA, my thoughts are that I ought to see another reduction in body fat.

Organized by @stefan_firefighterfitness (congratulations to this amazing event) within a very short time, without any advertisement and in the end more than 700 runners started and 17k EUR were raised for the fight against cancer. What an achievement for a good cause 👍🏻

Yesterday we had the evening swim training with the @trimago_e.v. @sebidahl_triathloncoach challenged us very well with new training stimuli.

In total there were 2000m incl. a 400m test run in 9:10min and 8*50m crawl and 5 push-ups after each lane. The hardest part was almost getting out of the pool, I think I have to practice that. 😂

Gestern stand das abendliche Schwimmtraining mit den @trimago_e.v an. @sebidahl_triathloncoach hat uns gut gefordert mit neuen Trainingsreizen.

In Summe waren es 2000m inkl. Einem 400m Testlauf in 9:10min und 8*50m kraulen und 5 Liegestütze nach jeder Bahn. Am härtesten war fast eher das aussteigen aus dem Beckenrand, ich glaub das muss ich Mal üben 😂l. Die Arme sind heut aber durch nach 2 Tagen Liegestütz.

Day 50/66

A little different from the usual, but I gotta say the greatest satisfaction isn’t the improvement of physique but the ability to push your own capabilities to the limit.
Story time: Back in highschool, basketball was my choice of sport and I made it my goal to dunk. Being 5’10 and an overweight kid didn’t help but I was still making progress and managed to touch rim but then injuries came to play. I’ve broken my right ankle once, had a stress fracture in my left foot, and rolled/sprained my ankles so often that I lost count which all led to me having bad knees since I’d overcompensate and play through the injuries (I know, I’m dumb lol). I thought my dunking days were over as my lower body was full of injuries. However, after fully healing I still had that mental block until @gymshark gave me the final push to set myself back on my #roadtodunking by challenging myself to change with #gymshark66 . No more excuses from me. It’s all a mental thing. You can do it, just trust in yourself.

There ain’t no better motivation than seeing yourself improve and breaking free from your mental limiters. You’d be surprised at the things you’re able to achieve once you set your mind to it. I thought I’d never be able to jump like how I did back in highschool but now I’m going even higher 💪

How I found balance ✨⚡️ ⠀

19 vs 27 years old⠀

Although I’ve always been athletic and sporty, I took a big dip/journey after school, picking up insane amounts of weight in the shortest amount of times. Bad habits, bad mental health & just a ton of things happening in my life, no direction & no ambition to go anywhere. ⠀

Fast forward 8 years... who was that person even? Haha ⠀

Do I spend hours in the gym now? No. Do I restrict myself from carbs, alcohol and chocolate? Also... NO...⠀

So what changed? ⠀
The way I saw myself, my body, exercise & food. And my approach to taking care of all of these! ⠀

It took time! But overtime everything has fallen into place. Living intuitively, eating mindfully & training to feel strong & fit! I can talk about this all day (literally my stories yesterday) but it gets me SO fricken pumped seeing my clients make these mental changes. It’s literally everything and makes me do a happy dance(twerk) every single time! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⠀

Here are some steps to take towards a more positive/balanced life: ⠀
💚 Gratitude - being appreciative of what you can do & not what you can’t. And being thankful that you have a body that you can move. ⠀
💛 Self care - taking care of yourself. Not just massages and facials (I wish) haha but doing little things that give you confidence, like getting enough sleep, putting on make up or styling your hair. Anything that makes YOU feel good and like a boss. 💪🏼⠀
💙 Nutrients - making sure you are getting in your vitamins! Don’t just consume empty calories & don’t rely on sugar for energy! Sugar is not bad, but your body wants more than that! Education is power here.⠀
🧡 Movement - little walks in nature, a little stretch in your living room, or picking up some things in the gym. What ever works for you is GOOD for you! ⠀

Stundenlang vor dem Pc oder Fernseher sitzen kein Problem.
Aber 1-2 Stunden Training? NO WAY!
Wenn man etwas will und ich meine nicht den Willen nach einem bestimmten Kleid oder sonst was, nein, wenn man etwas wirklich aus tiefsten Herzen und Überzeugung will, wenn man nachts sogar davon träumt und alles dafür tun würde, wenn dir das Herz aufgeht, wenn du die Dinge tust, dann findest du IMMER Zeit dafür!
Und ich will es! Ich will mir jeden Tag aufs Neue den Allerwertesten aufreißen. Ich will jeden Tag aufs Neue über mich hinauswachsen. Ich will diesen Sport niemals wieder missen. Ich will mich selbst stolz machen. Ich will die Staubfänger! 🏆

I got really heavy the last few months of the year people asked me how heavy, well I got all the way up to 370 in January 1st 2020, currently I’m at 350 I’m still 100lb heavier than I was last year which was 250lbs. People asked what happened? Just put off what was important and made excuses tbh. In a 5 month period I gained 110lbs!!... I have a 10k I’m getting ready for and I’m focusing more on myself,family & god. I should be back at 250 by May and I can focus on getting even smaller by the end of the year! I tel people you’re going to fall off but are you going to stay off and just quit or are you going to get right back and continue?
