Jeff Buckley's "Grace"
Released on this day 25 years ago. One of my favourite albums of all time pictured here alongside my original copy on CD. No single studio album has left a greater legacy in my opinion.

Finally time to relax! 🥳👨🏼‍🦳I needed a classic tonight so I went with Simon & Garfunkel. “The only living boy in New York” might just be my favorite S&G song of all times - though they’ve made so many greats! What’s your favorite? #simonandgarfunkel

There are first times for everything. My first order from Discogs and my first Manic Street Preachers album - here, in the same picture.
I’ve known the band and their hit singles in my youth but sometimes you just ”forget” to listen some band/artist and need a little remind of their musical awesomeness. And that’s why we have this great #vinylcommunity here on IG, where you can find new friends in your life. And when you talk with those friends you might notice that ah, I should listen to this band again after so many years.
So here’s a little thank you and shoutout for @stevo4042 who is the biggest Manic Street Preachers fan (and coffee addict) I know. Go follow him (if you don’t already), he has a great vinylcollection and impeccable taste of music. 👌🏻 Btw thanks to him I’m this close from a personal bankruptcy because I’ve realized our music taste is too similar but of course there are some great records missing from my own collection... 🙈😂 Should I say something about the album too? 😅 ”Journal for Plague Lovers” (released in 2009) is just something you need to listen to by yourself. I would say it’s a masterpiece, heck yes! The album is composed entirely of songs with lyrics left behind by the lyricist and rhythm guitarist Richey Edwards who disappeared unexplained in 1995. He was presumed deceased in 2008. Album’s lyrics are pretty dark and strange but you definitely find more meanings under every layer after every listening. I especially love the opening track ”Peeled Apples”, it just has everything to be a perfect rock song. 🤘🏻 Do you like Manic Street Preachers and/or do you have this album in your collection?

Released 25 years ago today: Portishead, Dummy.
Every now and then, a band that no one's heard of comes along and releases a debut album that makes everyone stop and pay attention. Portishead was one of those bands.
Dummy went on to become one of the most iconic and innovative albums of the '90s, popularising the trip-hop sound and bringing UK electronic music to the world.

I've recently rediscovered the brilliance of this record, spinning it on high rotation lately, and I'm convinced that now, 25 years on, it sounds as fresh and groundbreaking as it did upon it's release. A timeless album.
