Really miss the cheap and great coffee in Italy. Not kidding you could order soy milk anywhere and the foam was always been on point! On picture 2 you can see that the cappuccino was so dope that they had to call the polizia . 🔥

Coffee is dope but I am great for Berlin and it's richness in vegan cakes. Really missed that in Milan! Due to the holidays many vegan restaurants were closed so finding something sweet was a struggle. 😅

These Battered Spicy Cauliflower by @the_clumsy_vegan look amazing. Definitely should be at everyone’s Super Bowl Party. .

Recipe

Ingredients
Cauliflower i floret cut into bite size pieces
Water
Oil for deep frying
For marinade
Vegenaise 1 T
Garam masala 1/2 T
Cumin powder 1t
Coriander powder 2t
Amchur powder 1t

For Batter
Flour 2 T
Corn flour 3 T
Salt 1t
Pepper 2t
Turmeric 1/2 T
Chilly powder 2t
Cider 1 C

Method
1) Bring a pot of water to boil and add cauliflower. Cook for 4-5 minutes and drain
2) Allow cauliflower to completely cool and coat in marinade ingredients. Palace in the fridge for 20-30 minutes
3) Make a thin batter by mixing all the listed ingredients
4) Dip cauliflower in batter and fry in olive oil

🌿How to Properly Refuel Your Body After Working Out ? ⁣

The purpose of refueling is to replenish your body’s energy stores to prevent fatigue for the remainder of the day and your next session. ⁣

Recovery involves six key elements: inflammation reduction, immune support, replenishing muscle glycogen, soft tissue repair, hormonal support, and rehydration with electrolytes.⁣

Including carbohydrates in your recovery meal will help to replenish lost glycogen stores, as well as prevent your body from using protein as an energy source (so that protein can be used to rebuild and repair muscle tissue instead!). ⁣

Insulin secretion helps to promote glycogen synthesis, and this is maximised when both carbs and protein are consumed together. ⁣

Glycogen storage rate is at it’s highest in the hour post exercise, due to the enzyme glycogen synthase being activated, and insulin sensitivity is high, meaning our bodies become more efficient at absorbing glucose from our food, while our muscles are at their most permeable for storing and replenishing glycogen - and this is what we want for faster and better recovery! ⁣

The amount of carbs you need post-workout will depend on the duration and intensity of that session.⁣

Examples of carb-rich foods that are great post-workout would be oats, sweet potato, rice, pasta, breads and fruit. Or a high carb snack such as a banana, energy ball, smoothie or muesli bar to pack in your gym bag!⁣

Cheesy, zesty and a little spicy, this vegan salsa verde pizza is a great weekend recipe when you want something a little different. ⁣

Made From⁣
2 cups of bread flour⁣
1 packet of yeast⁣
1 cup of warm water⁣
2 shallots⁣
20 tomatillos ⁣
3 limes⁣
3 cloves of garlic⁣
2 lemons⁣
3 jalapenos⁣

Just when you thought kind gestures couldn't get any cooler, then the good peeps at @coughlansbakery made us this surprise cake with a picture of us made from sugar paste, and printed with food colouring! 😊😋 We were given the pleasure of a tour of their HQ, where 95% of their food is now vegan (they did the vegan sausage roll & steak bake before Greggs, and their's is better!), they donate to the homeless and ensure all unused food is recycled. Loves this hump day is always welcome! Tonight our kitchen menu: Vegan Veggie Lasagna... Tofu Ricotta Spinach w/homemade Pasta Sauce. Okay I always keep frozen homemade pasta sauce on hand however I did make the Ricotta this evening.. it’s so easy. I can only imagine how it will taste tomorrow when it fully sets. ❤️🐨 Remembering Rocky 🐨❤️
This beautiful boy, Rocky, aged 7 years, has sadly died. The trauma of a bushfire and being on the fire ground was too much for his body to endure. His sensitive digestive system had been affected too.
We’re left more than a little heart broken, but we’ll remember that sweet, gentle boy always; the soft smell of eucalyptus in his fur, the feel of his paws as burns’ ointment was massaged in, the wonderful munching sound as he ate, his trusting face. It was an honour to care for him. 🐨🌱💙 .

"how I please my sugar cravings" Fruits are pure carbs and there's nothing wrong with that. On top of the calories they have vitamins, minerals & fibre. I personally consume the majority of carbohydrates in the mornings. It's also a good idea to pop maybe a banana in right after strenuous cardio to replenish your glycogen stores.

I choose the mushroom larb to start and completely overlooked the fact that it clearly stated it was spicy however wine helped with that and it was still tasty sooo cheers 🍷 .

Last night’s dinner was spaghetti with roasted sprouts, kale, hazelnuts, lemon zest and garlic. Halve the sprouts and toss in oil, salt and pepper and roast at about 180 for around 20 mins. Shred some kale and add it to the sprouts with some chopped hazelnuts and lemon zest and put the tray back in the oven for another 10 mins or so til the kale is crispy and the sprouts are golden. Cook the spaghetti and save some of the cooking water. Drain the spaghetti, heat some oil in the pan and add a clove of chopped garlic. Stir til it starts to colour a bit then add the drained pasta and some of the reserved water. Toss it all around with loads of nutritional yeast then add the sprouts and kale. Add some more oil and season. Done.

Easy sweet breakfast plate this morning 🙌🏻 Cinnamon roasted sweet potatoes + toasted pecans 😍 I love the sweet potato + nut butter combo so much! It always hits the spot. I reheated the sweet potatoes while I toasted the pecans, it worked out so well! A great breakfast for all my whole30 friends out there too 👌🏻 Happy Tuesday! -

STICKY SESAME CRISPY TOFU 😍
THIS has to be my fav tofu recipe to date 🤤

RECIPE
Ingredients
Crispy tofu:
1 package Extra firm tofu
1/4 cup corn starch
Sesame sticky Sauce:
1 teaspoon avocado oil
2 garlic cloves minced
2 tbsp organic brown sugar or coconut sugar
2 tbsp rice vinegar
1/4 cup + 2 tbsp Tamari or soy sauce
1/4 cup organic ketchup
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
2 tbsp sesame seeds
Other ingredients:
sliced green onions for garnish
White or brown rice to serve

Method:
1.Remove tofu from package and wrap in a couple paper towels gently pressing on tofu to release a bit of the moisture. Cut tofu into cubes then roll each tofu cube in corn starch making sure each side is coasted.
2.Bring a hot skilled to medium heat and add enough avocado oil to cover the bottom of the pan. Once hot, add cubed tofu and cook on each side until golden & crispy. Season with salt and once removed from pan place on a plate lined with paper towel.
3. In a bowl combine all sauce ingredients (except garlic & avo oil) mix to combine. Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the sauce mixture and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until just thickened.
4. Add the crispy tofu to the pan and toss to coat with the sauce. Sprinkle with sesame more seeds and green onions, then serve with rice! •

Crispy Sweet n Sour Cauliflower Bites ❤️💛🧡💚The perfect app for the big game 🏈 These bites were so crispy & delicious & with the sauce they are sure to become a family & friend favorite. No breading coming off, just crispy crunchy goodness. Hope you enjoy! For more cauli bite inspo check out my girl Francesca @plantifullybased
What you need: 1 small head of cauliflower, 1 cup flour, 1 tbl cornstarch, 1 1/4 cup seltzer, 2 tbl chili sauce,1/2 tsp each of onion & garlic powder, 2 cups panko, 2 tsp smoked paprika For The Sauce: 1/2 cup grape jelly, 1/2 cup chili sauce, 2 tbl tamari or soy sauce
What you do:
1️⃣ On stovetop, cook cauliflower in boiling water 4-5 min until fork tender (not mushy)
Drain, rinse with cold water till cauli is cool, dry,set aside
2️⃣ To bread cauli set up 2 bowls, one bowl with flour, cornstarch, seltzer, garlic, & onion powder, salt. The second bowl with with Panko & paprika. Line large baking sheet with parchment paper misted with oil
3️⃣ Take one caulif piece toss into flour dip, getting all areas, then into Panko bowl making sure it is completely covered, place on baking sheet. Repeat until all cauli pieces are coated
4️⃣Bake at 400 F for 20 min flipping half way through.
5️⃣ While cauli is baking make the sweet n sour sauce. Whisk all sauce ingredients over low on stovetop until warmed through.
6️⃣ Serve immediately with sauce for dipping or just pour the sauce on the bites, whatever your pleasure 💚💚💚I topped my bites with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

Air Fried Chili Lime Plantains 😍 Perfect easy appetizer or Super Bowl snack 🙌🏻 I don’t even want to admit how many times I’ve made these the past few weeks 😅 I’ve been on a spicy kick and I love having these to grab a handful and pair with salsa, mashed avocado, or this leftover chipotle cashew sauce from last week. Cheaper than buying a premade bag of them + you control the ingredients! You can store on the counter or in the fridge. I personally like to store the in the fridge and reheat them in the skillet. -

EAT FRESH. EAT WHOLE. All I see is abundance!

Many people are turned off by eating healthy because they think they have to eat the same way everyday or have limited variety.
.
It’s funny because everyone has an eating pattern. Meaning you’re probably eating the same cycle of foods and meals without even noticing. It’s just so ingrained in you. You’re ordering the same thing at each restaurant you go to. You eat the same snacks over and over again. You only know how to cook the same 3 meals without a recipe.
.
I’m not going to tell you that eating healthy has enormous variety, not because you can’t eat different everyday, but because it’s not rational to do so. The amount of energy you need to do think of different meals, choose them, and create or buy is draining.
.
You’re just stuck in an eating pattern so it’s uncomfortable for you to eat differently so you create an reason to back up that belief, even if irrational.
.
Taste buds can change, your approach to food can change, your relationship with food can change. Just takes the right mindset and knowledge to do so.
.
I enjoy food at its simplicity. Whole and fresh. No overstimulation from processed junk. Nature got the finest taste and nutritional profiles to come by 🙏🏾
