230KG/507LBS for an easy and smooth single. Deadlift and I are friends again. After spending a lot of time reviewing my training footage the past few days I figured out one big thing in my set up I inadvertently got away from that allows me to stay more open. Have it locked in now, and I'm ready to start pushing hard again for the final 4 weeks of prep coming up!

Incline bench press. Worked up to 195 again for a rough single. Got 195 last week for a single. This week worked on a new grip which felt good and got 195 again. Next week definitely going to work some incline dumbbells for reps and see if that helps transfer over to incline barbell. #backinthelab #timetobleed

Deficit pulls , 340 4x2 . Pendlay rows 3x6 @ 200 lbs . Pull ups 3x5 @ 55 lbs . Shrugs 4x3 @ 415. Close grip lat pulldowns 3x5 @ 80 lbs w/ pauses. DB rows 4x4 @ 100 lbs . Single armed KB farmers walks 2 sets of walking back and forth 2 times ( on green turf) then switching arms @ 50 lbs . Finally ab crunch machine 3x6 @ 80 lbs paused reps.

Solid squat PR went down today 500lbs for a new 5 rep max. Squat is making progress again. It wasn’t perfect but I know what I need to work on, going to work I’m bringing in my stance slightly and continuing to strengthen my hips, trying to minimize the knee cave.

Caffeine, everyone’s favorite drug! But do you know how it works? 🧠 ✍️ Caffeine is a stimulant which works by directly blocking adenosine receptors in the brain.
As adenosine builds up throughout the day, binding of adenosine to its receptors promotes sleepiness and sedation. However, when caffeine is supplemented, this process is interfered with.

407lb x2 squat, 308lb x1 bench, 440lb x1 deadlift. Felt super weak and was concerned until I realized I had no caffeine in my system. I’m on 2 gallons of water a day rn. Let’s hope I make weight lol. @bradcoolyard .

Smh what a fraud😞😤425x4x3. A lot of errors on this lift. I know I got the strength to bring this up but I forgot about the little form cues that matter. Big reason I rounded my back was not retracting my shoulder blades. I didn’t have my chest up either. These are things that matter in order to get a good deadlift while doing it safely. •

Them 5 plates are coming soon. Kinda hyped to lift at the Rec this semester since I’ll be seeing a lot of the great people I’ve met there💪🏽

Big reason I rounded my back was not retracting my shoulder blades. I didn’t have my chest up either. These are things that matter in order to get a good deadlift while doing it safely. •

Pretty decent 18in Deadlift and Husafell day. Feeling the lingering effects of Front Squats yesterday in all the places I need them to be introducing them back. I was confident 860 was in me and I'm certain it is for 18in so I'll really modify the setup and placement of the pull so I can steer towards 900. Not bad since the last time I trained them six months ago. It's a very different pull from Rack pulls. Both have their places and times. Husafell Carry After beginning with 360/280/240. The 18in made Submax Husafell feel extremely light yet took enough key to make me work harder with lighter poundages. A productive day to see where I'm at for these two common event lifts. Once again Husafell (Stone(looks like a damn shield lol) & 18in/Silver Dollar Deadlift. Curious with a Texad Bar, KG close centered plates and leveled setup. Throw in a suit and I'm a contender. Time will tell

Position work today while I isolate my weak points in the deadlift.

Glutes seem to be too weak which causes my quads to take over! Here’s what I’m doing to fix

♦️finding my optimal deadlift position is my first step. Deadlifts with a slow decent seem to feel good so that’s what I’m doing. Try this with about 60% of your max with sets of 4-6!

♦️
Isolating my posterior chain aka glutes hammys and lower back. The single leg glute reverse hyper is my fav cuz I can really work on my booty (my weak point). Really try and shove your hip bone into that pad when doing these! Sets of 10-15 at easy weight for da pump!

Had heavy singles followed by back off volume on the program today and it went well. Positioning and weight was feeling great and I worked my way up to 260 for a smooth single with no spotter. It’s definitely the most I’ve held in my hands with no spotter so I’m proud of that. 270 would have been a 5lb PR but it’s okay, I’ll get that shit next time. We heating up though, trust the process.

I was watching YouTube a couple days ago, and a guy was talking about the role of genetics in fitness. For him he felt that genetics is a big contributor to his physique, but that he would've never known that if he hadn't put in the work. For some reason his statement really struck a cord. So in short, I'm looking to put in the work this year.

Leg Day. Started out with Low Bar Squats at the house: 5x315lbs, 5x325lbs, 5x335lbs, and 5x365lbs (shown). Then hit the gym for seated calf raises, standing calf raises (shown), hip thrusts, leg extensions, leg curls, and hip abduction machine.

Day 4 of macros tracking was successful!

Started a new RN travel position, switching my life to 12 hour night shift with a long commute, adopted a new fur baby, decreasing body fat and increasing heavy training sessions.
Now, it's time to test me mentally and physically.
So far, so good 💁🏼‍♀️

For best practices and outcomes with this type of transition, it's important to still maintain a routine schedule, meal prep, light snacking, blocks of sleep (not naps), and HYDRATION. .
I will also be dropping 5-10 pounds before weigh ins so, everything will be coming together in the next coming weeks. I have some big things on that horizon.🙌

upper bawwwwwdy day! ⁣

one of my two upper days from this cycle. here are some exercises 2 b one strong boi ⁣

🌙 supinated grip barbell row. sets of 10 with a squeeze & pause ⁣
⭐️ incline bench. I typically bench close grip, so anything “wide” is new for me. dis a drop set, I did a 10RM & then dropped for sets of 8,10,12 ⁣
🌙 low incline DB skull crushes. I dislike these so I use a slow eccentric for 10s to make sure I’m feelin’ it mr. krabs⁣
⭐️ chest support rear DB flys for 15s cause, gains.⁣

It was touch and go, grindy, slow AF and I was STOKED.

It’s definitely become a point of pride that I’ve coached MYSELF to an over 200lb bench.
I WANT to do the work.
I WILL hold myself accountable.
And I LOVE seeing the pieces fall into place.

I’m fully in love with the process and that has probably been my number one factor in progression.

I’m excited to announce that this week we close on our future home! We are buying the house in the middle of a renovation and get to finish it it exactly how we want. It seems like an absolute dream right now. Stay tuned for a lot more house things...
