We can be so hard on ourselves for not seeing the progress that we want to see due to it taking time.
Whether it’s weightloss or mental health, domestic abuse or addiction problems. It all takes time and healing. You may have done 1% progress today and that could have just been getting out the door, or going to a class or not having that last g and t on the night out! Small steps equals to a better feeling and more likely to be more sustainable.
What ever you have done today be proud, pat yourself on the back. Today mine was allowing myself some me time instead of seeing friends or doing housework after work. It’s been a bit of emotional rollercoaster 🎢 start to 2020 . I hope the rest of the year will be better but I am aware and proud of the progress I have already made. Next thing to conquer is getting back into training once I’ve healed a bit more.

✨Throwback Thursday Then to Present Thursday now.✨ Sometimes taking those before photos are hard and you can’t believe how you let yourself go. Then the progress picture you take, also shocks you and makes you think damn I have worked my ass off and look where I’m at. ✨

some days really be grinders. tough to wake up, get some work done, go to class, gym, etc. usually when i don’t wanna do somethin, I just do it anyway and complain the whole time. just because you don’t wanna do somethin doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it.

completely average pulls today. 405 warmup single felt heavy af w/ hook grip, 455 was just about impossible, but got it done. as for the working sets, I stayed conservative and just hit 4x7x465. my mind couldn’t really comprehend going past that today 🤷🏻

THROWBACK 2 YEARS AGO 🔙
De nos premiers concours à aujourd'hui, que de chemin parcouru avec cette noiraude. ❤️ On se souvient encore de ces traversées de carrière mémorables où je n'avais ni frein ni direction assistée, de ces dérobades à tout-va, de ces chutes sans airbag... Lors de notre premier concours en septembre 2017, j'étais tétanisée à l'idée d'affronter la carrière Olympique du Haras de Jardy avec elle, alors que nous avions 30 centimètres à sauter. Aujourd'hui, je lui fais une confiance aveugle, et c'est cette confiance établie qui me motive tant. Ce photo date de février 2018 lors de notre premier concours en extérieur, à Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines. Ce fut le premier concours où j'ai eu le déclic et où je me suis dit "Punaise, c'est si bon d'y aller en lui faisant confiance, et on peut y arriver." J'espère que ce lien ne se brisera jamais, et j'ai hâte de voir la suite.

en este video plasme la secuencia que he seguido con algunas usuarias para que hagan dominadas, recuerden que para todo el mundo no es lo mismo, pero es una clara ilustración de como se hace una progresión a través del tiempo en un
ejercicio en específico.

son ajustes que pueden parecer sencillos pero que una vez se realizan cambian todo el estímulo del ejercicio, como se ve en el video, "jugué" con las tensiones isométricas, con los tiempo de ejecución excéntricos hasta ir generando la adaptación necesaria para hacerlas
completas por si sola.

cada movimiento le di un periodo de al menos 3 semanas, dependiendo de la respuesta pueden ser más o pueden ser menos, todo va acorde a la individualidad
de cada persona.

como dije arriba cada modificación le di un lapso de unas semanas para poder generar adherencia, esta es la razón por la que muchas personas fracasan en sus entrenamientos, porque tienen el chip de estar cambiando cada semana y así no hay una respuesta concreta a un estímulo concreto ni se llega a ningún objetivo concreto, aprende a planificar tus entrenamientos, si no sabes cómo, puedo

I am by no means my biggest, strongest, nor wearing my favourite gym outfit but after 8 months of an injury that seemed like it would never heal I FINALLY got good news....it’s started to heal 🥳🥳🥳🥳 .
Been training 3 times a week, avoiding anything that will aggravate the bicep tendon, just working on tekkers, TUT, abs and cardio, eating clean (ish) and, tbh, feel pretty good. .
Nice to know I will one day be back to my old tricks...lifting heavy and bulking dirty 😎✌🏼

First picture 2017 - convinced myself I was never going to compete again so there’s no reason to lift with a purpose, was extremely unhappy with my body, didn’t want any part in gaining weight especially on my bottom half and considered myself “fat” at 135 lbs. Just exhausted mentally, emotionally and physically.
Second picture 2020 - lifting with a damn purpose which is to get in the best shape I possibly can, I’m the happiest I’ve been mentally and physically even being 20 lbs heavier than the first picture and holding most of my weight in my bottom half. Just out here living the thiccc life and loving it. ☺️

Another solid bench day! Top set 105kg x 8 on my 1+ for another new rep PB.

Didnt feel quite as solid as last week but bench feels way way better than it did at the beginning of the year - so thats promising. Does weighing yourself make or break your day? If so, keep reading to learn better ways to measure PROGRESS 💪🏼⁣

I used to weigh myself every day and it seriously messed with my mind. I was always chasing under 120 (which is roughly 20 lbs lighter than my average weight.)⁣

My “why” for working out was so off at the time. I wanted to be under 120 because I saw girls on Instagram posting their weights. I was constantly comparing myself to others.⁣

if I wasn’t consistently losing weight, I would punish myself with negative self talk and more cardio.⁣
If I lost more weight than expected, than I would binge the rest of the day. I was in a constant battle with myself and it wasn’t healthy!⁣

I now haven’t weighed myself in over a year. I don’t care about the number on the scale because it’s always fluctuating because of stress levels, hydration, sleep, hormones, digestion, etc.⁣

Instead, here are other ways to measure progress:⁣
⚡️look at the way you’re talking to yourself. Are your thoughts generally positive or negative?⁣
⚡️Look at your relationship with food - are you constantly restricting or binging? Are you listening to your hunger cues?⁣
⚡️Look at visual changes in the mirror
⚡️take photos! Front/back/side⁣
⚡️Reflect on your confidence and self love (I journal a lot so this is a great way to measure progress)⁣
⚡️Look at your consistency with healthy habits - write them down!⁣
⚡️Look at your improved strength in the gym (no program hopping, stay consistent and increasing weights weekly)⁣

Lastly, appreciate the progress that you HAVE made! Keep going and don’t get discouraged by the silly number on the scale.
