#ad - Did you make any New Year's Resolutions this year? Before January has even come to an end, most people have given up on their annual commitment to themselves. I had a great January working out and eating right, but February has been a bit of a catastrophe with moving, Valentine's Day, and the Family Day long weekend.

They say losing weight and keeping it off is 30% fitness and 70% diet. My #fitness routine is back on track, but when it comes to getting protein it's not as easy to fully cook a turkey as it is to roast some veggies. I'm not about to cook a whole turkey for my single Sally self in my tiny apartment oven, so with @LilydaleCanada Carved Turkey Breast I can add juicy and tender 100% Canadian raised turkey to my meals and get 12g of protein in every 70 calorie serving. The turkey is full of flavour, but has no additives, preservatives, or nitrates. Winner, winner, turkey dinner, am I right?

Dinner last night: This meal of turkey (2 servings), half an avocado, and roasted broccoli and cauliflower with parmesan cheese hit the spot and was a mere 375 calories, and locked down 34g of protein and only 7g of net carbs.
Breakfast this morning: #KetoTacos!290 calories, 36 g of protein, and 9g net carbs.

Hey hey hey and happy Wednesday! Decided to sleep in today as I was going to do a PT workout this morning before hitting legs tonight, but felt a little fatigued so decided to stay in bed. My 4 am workout before PT kinda killed me yesterday, so I figured some extra sleep today wouldn’t hurt. Here’s some back and bis work I did yesterday morning. Really going to try hard to get back into a morning routine. It just makes me feel so much better to have my workouts done early and to get home and relax after work. Might be a good idea to add to my Lent goal👀 Enjoy the workout and like and save to try for yourself 💕

Just some more pistol and OAPU practice, brought to you from a hotel gym... some bicep curls may have been performed, but no witnesses, so it's okay.

Trying to spend some time in the bottom of the pistol to get comfortable and really control the entire movement. Can't tell if the tennis shoes are helping more than hurting at the moment. (Not packing my vibrams was an oversight)

For the OAPU's, focusing on getting tight and staying tight as I work my way lower and lower on the rack.

Worked up to 495 for a pretty moderate 3 on deficit pulls this morning.
Then came back down to 455 for 10 reps. Pretty easy day workout wise. Keeping the volume low just to make sure I recover how I need to before jumping into the next program. The 5/6 day full body was fun change of pace but I miss the pump lol. The next program is going to be fun. Time to study up on some power lifting so I can make the perfect hybrid program. The gains shall continue 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿

I'm looking smaller and smaller in pictures but the scale is telling me nothing but gains 🤔😅. I really hope that I'm just making fat into muscle and my body is just doing some weird shifting that the scale doesn't know. Trying not to get discouraged as it's all in the process. .

What in the actual heck happened!?!? I SOOOO DID NOT want to post this... But what's the point of having an accountability page if you don't post your struggles along with your success? So roughly about 3 months ago I’ve started my weight loss journey, it definitely hasn’t been easy to do this, but if you don’t like something change it, no one said it would be easy, Work for what your want. What has really inspired me to start going to the gym is @therock watching his videos kicking ass in the gym just gets me in the mood to go. Also another big reason was for my son, I definitely would not like to be this size when he’s trying to play with his dad. I’m going to keep working hard every day, push my self harder every single day. I also can’t wait to get me a pair of @projectrock shoes and head phones one day. #gym #progress #yyc #weightloss

Looking for progress, not perfection. 🔆 My planner organizes my day, but I’m also willing to let my toddler scribble on it. There are Halloween stickers there because I accidentally packed the stickers for Eli’s chore chart already and this was all I could find. 🍭 I’m on day three of my 3 day refresh and the vanilla shake with blueberries is pretty good but I am happy this is day 3! (Greenberry is the only one I can drink without adding something)....

How I found balance ✨⚡️ ⠀

19 vs 27 years old⠀

Although I’ve always been athletic and sporty, I took a big dip/journey after school, picking up insane amounts of weight in the shortest amount of times. Bad habits, bad mental health & just a ton of things happening in my life, no direction & no ambition to go anywhere. ⠀

Fast forward 8 years... who was that person even? Haha ⠀

Do I spend hours in the gym now? No. Do I restrict myself from carbs, alcohol and chocolate? Also... NO...⠀

So what changed? ⠀
The way I saw myself, my body, exercise & food. And my approach to taking care of all of these! ⠀

It took time! But overtime everything has fallen into place. Living intuitively, eating mindfully & training to feel strong & fit! I can talk about this all day (literally my stories yesterday) but it gets me SO fricken pumped seeing my clients make these mental changes. It’s literally everything and makes me do a happy dance(twerk) every single time! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼⠀

Here are some steps to take towards a more positive/balanced life: ⠀
💚 Gratitude - being appreciative of what you can do & not what you can’t. And being thankful that you have a body that you can move. ⠀
💛 Self care - taking care of yourself. Not just massages and facials (I wish) haha but doing little things that give you confidence, like getting enough sleep, putting on make up or styling your hair. Anything that makes YOU feel good and like a boss. 💪🏼⠀
💙 Nutrients - making sure you are getting in your vitamins! Don’t just consume empty calories & don’t rely on sugar for energy! Sugar is not bad, but your body wants more than that! Education is power here.⠀
🧡 Movement - little walks in nature, a little stretch in your living room, or picking up some things in the gym. What ever works for you is GOOD for you! ⠀

I can’t wait to help more of you make these positive changes in your life, while enjoying wine, chocolate and celebrating our bodies without spending hours in the gym! ✨💕⠀

Everything we do, think and say determines the person we are becoming. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the kind of person I would like to be for my daughter. Ive started to catch myself when I begin to compare, when I feel left out, when I notice the time I’m spending on my phone negatively impacting my mood, when I try to convince myself I’m not enough. Yes, I still regularly fight with my shadows, but I’m much more aware of them. I do my best to keep them where I can see them. I recently heard of a Carl Jung quote that says: “Keep your shadows in front of you—they can only take you down from behind.” Self talk affects every aspect of our lives, with our thoughts either working for or against us. It is our thoughts and words that are creating our future experiences. I want Saya to learn early on that her inner dialogue will project her external realities. She watches me so closely I know she is forming a massive part of her understanding of the world through me. She may not hear my thoughts but she witnesses the fluctuations of my emotions.

In an attempt to be more accountable for my life, I’ve started to question the validity of my thoughts - and if they are not helping me in any way, I challenge myself to turn them around. If we don’t change the way we think, our lives won’t change and self criticism will merely reinforce the very thought patterns we want to change.

When we can align our thoughts, words and actions with purpose our life can go wherever we choose to take it. I want Saya to live with purpose. To live on her own terms. To know her hands are on the steering wheel. She’s in control.
