We are trying our hand at this whole cloth diapering thing! One day down! Hopefully the rest of his days in diapers to go! Not only is this better for my wallet, but it’s way better for the environment! 😍

This fellow got hit by a car, but a nice lady is helping him get better. She shared her chicken with him when we were there.

So if you’ve seen my stories just now you probably realized that I love thrifting 💕 it’s one of my favorite things to do, not only do I find amazing treasures but it’s recycling at its best. ♻️ each item you buy from a thrift, consignment, or resale shop means one less item that ends up in a landfill somewhere. So today I’m celebrating #nationalthriftday by sharing some of my favorite #thriftstorefinds with you all! Head to my stories to check out what I’ve found over the years! #ilovethrifting #thriftygirl #thriftyfinds #sustainablefashion

💔😭A baby dugong named Mariam died after ingesting plastic, announced the Thai Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation on Saturday. ☹️Mariam won hearts in Thailand as it has been fighting against an infection by plastic lining her stomach. A veterinary surgeon performed an autopsy on Mariam at the Trang Province Marine Park yesterday. Mariam's death is once again an alarm for the critical need for ocean conservation. #animalabuse #savetheplanet #cgtn

    HUMANS OF CANINES AUGUST 2019
Meet Chamara, a sea turtle conservationist working at Induruwa Sea Turtle Conservatory in Bentota, Srilanka.
Fishermen in this area catch sea turtles and sell them illegally , to make good money. Chamara and his team are trying to rescue the sea turtles by educating the fishermen, picking up the turtle eggs from the shore, putting them in the hatchery and setting them free 3 days after they hatch. Apart from this , they have also rescued turtles with severe deformities owing to manhandling of eggs by fishermen , after being stuck for years in fishing nets(many turtles couldn’t move their limbs) and genetic issues such as blindness or other skin related deformity* (*making them even more rare and expensive).
The turtles that Chamara and his team have rescued include , the Leatherback turtle, the Green turtle, the Olive Riddley and the Hawksbill turtles. The aim of their team is to help the planet restore it’s turtle population. Chamara says ‘the day people stop buying products made from animal skin, these turtles and many other animals can be saved.’
Let us all try and stop the usage of products made from animals, or tested on animals.
I have stopped using leather - let me know what all can be done to encourage similar initiatives.
Please visit Induruwa Sea Turtle Conversation Project of you are in Srilanka. They also take volunteers.
Chamara and his team is our HUMANS OF CANINES of August ♥️ Humans of Canines will feature a ‘Human of Canine/s’ on the 18th of every month. If you want to be featured or if you want to nominate someone for the next ‘Human of Canine’ please pm me on Instagram or email me on humansofcanines@gmail.com

This new invention gives us hope so please read the entire caption, share this post with your followers and leave a comment below with thoughts too! 💙
The City of Kwinana in Western Australia has hailed the trial of two new drainage nets a success as it continues its journey towards less waste and increased sustainability ♻️
The nets were installed at two locations earlier this year in an effort to reduce rubbish from drainage systems within the City, particularly in areas where road drainage is discharged into public open spaces and reserves 👍
During the trial, 370kg (roughly 815 pounds) of debris consisting of food wrappers, plastic bottles, sand and tree leaves was cleaned out of the nets. Mayor Carol Adams says, “The nets capture gross pollutants carried by stormwater from the local road network before those pollutants are discharged and contaminate the natural environment at the downstream end of the outlet area 🌎
This ensures that the habitat of the local wildlife is protected and minimizes the risk of wildlife being caught in the nets.” Now three more locations have been identified as suitable drainage points for further nets to be installed following the trial’s success! 🎉
Share this post and tag people who need to see it too as we must try all sorts of new ideas/inventions to help alleviate our #plasticpollution problem RIGHT NOW! #newinvention #endplasticpollution

For more than 200 years, or since the industrial revolution began, the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has increased due to the burning of fossil fuels and land use change (e.g. increased car emissions and deforestation). During this time, the pH of surface ocean waters has fallen by 0.1 pH units. The pH scale, like the Richter scale, is logarithmic, so this change represents approximately a 30 percent increase in acidity.
The ocean absorbs about 30% of the CO2 that is released in the atmosphere, and as levels of atmospheric CO2 increase, so do the levels in the ocean. When CO2 is absorbed by seawater, a series of chemical reactions occur resulting in the increased concentration of hydrogen ions. This increase causes the seawater to become more acidic and causes carbonate ions to be relatively less abundant.
