C Week exercise: Close grip bench.

I’ll start by saying that I am a big fan of close grip bench and I often use it in my programming. But what does close grip bench mean?? It depends on who is benching.

See close grip is not just one grip it can be a multitude of them. For me, a very narrow comp bencher, my close grip is basically right at the start of the knurling. For someone that benches say ring finger on the outside ring well that person’s close grip could be thumbs width away from the knurling. 🌎
The best way to know what works best is to try out different widths and see what works best as close grip can be very beneficial to bench strength as it is very similar, especially if you add a pause to it. One thing to remember is that the closer the grip the lower the touch point will be on the chest and the more abduction there will be (elbows closer to the body).

Now in terms of hypertrophy, close grip bench is a good choice as it does activate the triceps a little more then wider variations as seen in the literature. Though I don’t think it is anything magic or a “secret tricep wrecker”. If you want to train triceps it can be quite useful but should be done in conjugation with direct tricep work such as push downs, LTEs, kick backs, etc.

Self care. What does that word mean to you? For me self care used to mean treating my self to my favorite restaurant. It meant sitting on the couch and binge watching Netflix. .

But recently enjoying workouts by myself has been my self care. To just go to the gym, put my head phones on, and get to work. This has been the greatest #stressrelief and just so good for my soul lately. .

Three of favorite tricep exercises to build mass! When I was trying to get bigger arms I’d train triceps on my chest days along with my arm days. One workout always went like this..... 1️⃣. Hammer Strength Press Downs- 12, 10, 8 drop set as many as possible. You can substitute with a dip’s instead of these if your gym doesn you can substitute with the dips instead of these!

2️⃣. Incline Skull Crushers - 12, 10, 8, drop set as many as possible.

3️⃣. Single Arm cable Ext- 3 x 15 reps.

Nothing special. Had an impromptu chest day instead of doing it tomorrow. Ended my incline 3RM at 255 for 3 paused reps. The pump was sickening, I was in a gym I haven’t been in since I was 20lbs less of a human, and it felt good. Also the lighting in @goldsgymbobbyjones is sick. Lol

We don’t typically go that crazy but the hype has been out of this world lately 💪🤣

TRÍCEPS CORDA NA POLIA 🎯

O  exercício Tríceps na polia é um ótimo exercício de isolamento para o músculo Triceps Braquial. 💡Duas cabeças do músculo se origina do úmero (osso do braço), a terceira cabeça da escápula (omoplata) e juntas elas se ligam à ulna. Assim, a principal tarefa do tríceps é a extensão do cotovelo (extensão) ❌ Agora você costuma ver pessoas que só sobe  os 90 graus e esticam os braços a partir daí - portanto, faz  apenas meio movimento. Mas se toda a amplitude de movimento não for usada durante um exercício, nem todas as fibras musculares podem ser recrutadas de maneira eficaz! ✅ Portanto, deve-se tomar cuidado para sempre trabalhar com uma amplitude de movimento COMPLETA. Neste caso, complete a flexão e extensão do braço!

Não que a primeira seja errada, mas se você a utilizar certamente estará recrutando menos fibras musculares e tornando o exercício menos eficaz,no caso do vídeo a postura também está errada, então vamos anular está questão! 😉

bringing you some of my favorite cable exercises today!! these are super beginner friendly if you’re just starting out and also convenient for if it’s a crowded gym because you can bang out multiple exercise just in one spot using a cable machine! •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hey PEEPS, gym today consisted of focusing on chest/triceps/shoulders. Here are some clips of the workout for you all ❤️ ENJOY AND GET SWOLE
-First is shoulder shrugs, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Second is seated dumbbell shoulder press, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Third is benchpress, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Fourth is inclined benchpress, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Fifth is seated chest flies, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Sixth is standing tricep pulldowns, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Seventh is tricep dips, 3 sets of 8 reps
-Lastly is seated tricep extensions, 3 sets of 8 reps!
Each one of my workouts I do 3 sets of 8 reps to really concentrated on breaking down the muscle so it repairs ❤️ to gain mass!

I should be getting ready but have wasted quite some time wondering what to snack on (if anything) because I’m absolutely starving after my workout. Thinking a small snack wont cut it but also don’t want to ruin the appetite 😂.
