Workout done ✅ Leg day is one of my favourite workouts. Leg presses 165 lbs, leg extensions 65 lbs, seated hamstring curls 60 lbs, single leg deadlifts w/ kettlebell 20 lbs, all 10 reps x 4 sets. Glute cable extensions 65 lbs 10 reps x 4 sets. Sumo squats w/ 30 lbs & hip thrusters....both 10 reps x 3 sets. Good workout. Felt great to hit the gym with my sonny. An absolute shit show tonight at team practice. A very ugly 70kg/154lb triple powers PR (my 96% for power clean) that had Coach chirping and laughing at me, then I couldn't stop laughing and Zack had to help me out of my belt. Only to be outdone with my 13yr old who now gyms with the team on Tuesday nights who watched most of my heavier sets and went up to Coach and said, "Um, my mom is a bit of a hazard isn't she..." 😂😂😂😂 (Thanks Tyler and Demi for defending me.) People ask me. Why do you use kettlebell training so much?
My answer to theme! Kettlebells are on of most versatile strength & condition tools in the world.
The kettlebell method, trains your body in a full functional manner that will condition you for many of life’s obstacles and primal movements that one uses, to do daily work.
The kettlebells design is great for compound workouts that require, switching grips, changing hands, changing sides and transferring the weight, from one type of lift to another, without having to stop the exercise. For example, doing a chain of movement lift’s, like 10 power cleans to 10 single arm swing to switching arm and repeating the same series of lifts with the other side of the body.
 This compound movement workouts are referred as doing lines, plex, or flows.
I prefer calling theme lines. For the phrase “flows” sound lame in my book.
Doing kettlebell lines, is one of the pinnacles of kettlebell training. This method of training challenges strength and movement skills in one workout. This makes the workouts more strenuous. In comparison to other methods of strength & conditioning. This means that compound kettlebell training is not for everyone. I say it’s for the brave only!
 This method of compound lifting, creates stamina, mental focus and has been shown to trigger a hormonal response due to its strenuosity. Compound kettlebell workouts, are a challenging and fun way of training. And it is great for those individuals that enjoy workouts that are dynamic, have room for unlimited creative and like to have the feel, that the training is taking a toll on their body.
Kettlebells can be put together, to specifically mimic your daily activity, your sport or martial arts.

The littlest things make me happy and that is one thing I honestly have always lived about myself. I appreciate the small things in life that most people take for granted or don’t even acknowledge. Sure i take things for granted at times too- I’m human- but ask anyone and they’d say one of the things they know about me is my love for little pleasures and moments. Today for example, I was happy because I I finally bought @kingshawaiian rolls 🍞 that’s I’ve been wanting but forgetting to buy cuz I mean hello they’re the bomb! I was also stoked about eating my favorite of all time @larabar - cashew cookie 🍪. I had my favorite apples in the whole world— opal 🍏. Oh and i cooked my chicken 🍗 perffffectly to where it broke open on its own and was sooo juicy and tender 😋. These are just good examples but they made my day better with each one. Overall I felt better just being back in my weekly routine and meals etc. I love long weekends don’t get me wrong 😂 but I’m a very routine person and thrive in that too 💙. What about you??

Taco Tuesday... tonight I decided to make my homemade flour tortillas. I would choose these every time over store bought ones. I make mine a little thicker so they almost seem like pita bread but my family loves them. I thought for kicks and giggles I would look at the store bought package of low carb “healthy” tortillas we had in the house.. the ingredient list 😐 I was blown away.. store bought is very convenient especially when you have kids and not a lot of time but when I can.. I choose homemade!! Plus.. as a bonus you can always eat the ones that you “accidentally” burn as an appetizer 😉

Working out has to be balanced with adequate rest and active recovery. We don’t exceed in anything when we are overworked. For those of us who workout to stay fit and healthy, can benefit by working out 4 times a week! 7 times of purposeful workout is not required for an average Joe. But my lower back pain come back and I decided to not training so hard for a while! I will training just like bodybuilder...😢💩 Maybe it’s back injurie (not at the gym)... I don’t know! But I don’t like how it feels... It’s like lower back pain and also my left booty side with leg feel this little pain too!🧐

Seriously guys, doing a leg workout with your pt for the first time in almost 3 months literally kills you.⁣

The atrophy is insane. The muscle shuts off. The soreness is QUICK. ⁣

Even after ONE day of legs with my PT I can already feel my glutes firing more during everyday activities......WHICH IS GREAT.⁣

My workout routine is going to change cause I’m allowed to do more leg exercises meaning I can actually go to the gym and have a semi leg day. ⁣

SO, with the clearance from your doc and PT here’s a good way to start getting to the gym durning the week when you’re this far post op like me (12 weeks) from this knee surgery or similar!⁣

Save this knee buds!👇🏼⁣

Monday- PT⁣
Tuesday- Back and shoulders⁣
Wednesday- Chest⁣
Thursday- Arms⁣
Friday- PT approved leg exercises and your regular daily exercises.⁣
Saturday- get out for a walk⁣
Sunday -REST ICE REST REPEAT⁣

This is a good starting place if you already are an active person and are trying to get to the gym. Of course there are things that will be modified. Of course I throw abs in. Of course I do PT exercises EVERYDAY. BUT this is a great way to get back to normal! ⁣

The schedule can be different because our schedules obviously aren’t the exact same but it’s an idea for you guys.⁣

I’m also getting down to PT once a week! ❤️⁣

Injuries and surgeries totally suck but I’m here to show you that even in these circumstances, we can get around it and still do the things we love! 💗
