Well after another week of SP I stepped on the scales and gained 0.5lbs this morning. .

In class about 4 weeks ago me and the scales fell out, in Image Therapy I had my group members laughing due to me calling them little fuckers. I nearly did the same again today 🙈 .

I behaved myself as the little fuckers ain't getting the better of me ha ha!!! 😂😂😂 I hate the dictating little shits!!!!! .

After 3 very intense workouts as I did an extra session at the muay thai as well as 4 doggy walks and lots of other body magic I feel assured it's down to my workouts and my body changing. .

I measured myself and since last week lost 2 inches on my legs, 1 inch on my arms and 1 inch on my burst. .

So I'll take that and here's to next week, hopefully I'll beat the little fuckers. Either way I'm winning anyway as I'm losing fat and gaining muscle 💪👊👌👏.

Day 216: I want these “love handles” gone so badly!!! Getting there slowly but surely! Fun Fact I was not told about weight loss: as fat burns, in my experience, it seems to lose density before volume, meaning though my gut is not where I want it to be visually, I can feel the difference in it physically. AKA: MY TUMMY IS LOOSE AND GIGGLY AND I DON’T LIKE IT! 😂😂😂

I’m struggling🙄I’m being just as strict with my eating as I always am but haven’t made any progress really since before Thanksgiving. It’s making me grumpy and has me feeling discouraged and it’s another one of those times where I need to practice what I preach and “trust the process”. It’s another one of those times I need to remember why I’m doing this and what I will NEVER go back to (photo on the left, 253lbs😳).
December is almost over, I’ll be indulging on Christmas because hello😂 but then I’m setting big goals for January. I feel like it’s gonna he my month and I just want it to be here already 🙌🏻

Since starting again with @ww , I’ve regained hope that I can do it and lose the 15lbs I’ve gained back in the past years. Those blue dots are a sign that I am gaining control again. I know the holidays are not going to be easy and that is ok because they happen once a year but I vow to not overdue it and just be mindful about what I am eating. The last two #weighin were the same and I haven’t lost anything since that first weighin but I know my body will let go at one point! #mywwgreen is for me! Not all meals can be great- I was really hoping I would love this one, but I did not. The mashed cauliflower is good. Lets talk about this whole “i want to lose my stomach yet grow a booty” phenomenon. While it is POSSIBLE.. it is extremely hard to lose fat yet gain weight at the same time. I say this because in order for you to “lose your stomach” you need to be in a caloric deficit. Meaning .. you need to burn more calories than you eat. In order for you to GROW your glutes the way that you’re expecting to .. you’d need to be in a caloric surplus .. or simply eating more than you burn

However you can not specifically pick where you want to gain weight. If your goal is to gain of course your going to build lean muscle but some fat is going to come along with that just bc it happens naturally. If you’re not okay with that i would put myself in a slight caloric deficit and focus on weight training.that way you’ll be shedding that unnecessary fat and not losing any muscle mass. .

I’ve been having a hard time staying on track with a diet... I’m almost done with this semester and i’m stressed the f*** out🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️😫

I have gained a good 10 pounds since school started in september and I haven’t been able to get rid of it. I am pushing myself to go to the gym once school ends and try to get in the habit of going at least once a week. We’ll see 😐

“You are only confined by the walls you build yourself.” I use to think staying in my comfort zone was the best place to be. I didn’t want to be challenged. I was scared to do anything different, and to be different. I accepted the limitations that I created for myself. Such things like I didn’t want to go to a restaurant by myself because people will think I’m weird, I didn’t want to go to a gym by myself because I didn’t know anyone and people will stare at me, I didn’t want to go to a school band or chorus concert by myself because I felt weird sitting alone, I didn’t want to go to the mall or a store by myself because people will think I’m a loser with no friends. Yes I really thought all of these things and still battle them sometimes. Unfortunately these are just some of the limitations I have created for myself.

If you think all of this is silly, you are probably right. I often reflect, myself, on how silly all of it is. But instead of beating myself up, I remind myself that everyday I get a little stronger and step out of my comfort zone a little more. I may only be taking steps, but every step is a step in the right direction. I will eventually crush all of the limiting beliefs I put on myself.

As some of you may know that I have taken a step back from instagram the past like 8-9 months I feel like. To be honest, I just needed time away and give myself a mental break. I do stories from time to time but not like I used to. With not being able to work out for 5 months, I feel like a failure of keeping up with my health. It has been an uncomfortable few months for me mentally. I feel so puffy, bloated, and not myself. The past 2 weeks, I have been adding 3-4 workouts a week (arm mostly because ankle still is not ready for leg workouts) and increasing my water and going into a caloric deficit. I have noticed little changes in face, my sleep, energy, and strength. The uncomfortable feeling still hasn’t gone away but we do have better days than others. The other night, I was so negative about myself that my family members and close friend called me out on it and to stop being so hard on myself. I have come so far and will get to a happy point again. Just need to give myself some grace after everything I have been through this year with all the life stresses and anxiety. 2020 will be a better year filled with love, happiness, and a hell of a lot of determination. For now, I will continue what I have been doing while enjoying the holidays without restrictions.
We all go through a rut and it is about finding the motivation/ determination to pull yourself out of it. We all need a little push sometimes.
Thank you to everyone who has stuck around throughout my journey and continue to follow. I appreciate it greatly.

I dragged and dragged my feet this morning. I had every intention on getting there at 630 but I went back to sleep instead. I finally arrived and did just a 2 hour routine instead of the marathon 4 on a Saturday. I was happy to see my main man Harry Styles on the tv!!! •
I was trying not to be bummed out about my step count but I knew it was going to be lower from the arc trainer. But hey I still went is what I keep telling myself. •
Today was busy though! Had a cookie exchange & now waiting to meet the Philadelphia Flyers mascot Gritty!!! •

Long story ahead....
When I went to college in 2013, I did the typical thing and gained the freshman 15+. Then spring semester, I decided to do something about it. I ate better, worked out and lost around 30 lbs.
That summer, I got a job in fast food and gained all the weight back plus more.
Fast forward to 2018 and I was up 50lbs from where I had been when I graduated high school. I started working out again for about two weeks until I came down with PNEUMONIA.
After a week in the hospital and a couple months on a steroid, I had ballooned up to a point that I never thought I would reach. I passed up the 300 mark very quickly and my spirit was broken.
I gave up hope or getting healthy and just gave in. So here we are, a year since then and I got bloodwork results that said I have high cholesterol. I’ve been told I’m at risk before, but for whatever reason, this time I looked it up. I saw how I am increasing my risk of heart disease and stroke and I was shocked.
How did I let myself get to this point?! I am young, engaged, and full of hopes and dreams! I want to be healthy enough to reach them!
So I re-started my journey on October 8th. I am down 24lbs and feeling stronger and rejuvenated! I’m excited to continue documenting my journey back to a healthier and happier place! #weightlossjourney #weightloss #startingover #healthyandhappy #sweatforthedress

When you’re working out there’s a lot going on in your body. Here’s a little pic to help understand where your body is getting its energy and why you lose speed or strength as the as the reps get higher

The creatine phosphate system starts you off. It donates a phosphate molecule to ADP to make ATP (energy). It can do this extremely quickly but it makes only a tiny amount of energy and take a very long to to replenish itself. There is also a bit of stored ATP that gets used up quickly in the phase
.
Next comes anaerobic glycolysis. This is mostly used in medium duration. Energy is make through glucose in the bloodstream and glycogen in the liver. It’s pretty fast but after 90-120 seconds it can’t quite keep up with the demand for energy
.
Lastly is aerobic glycolysis. Aerobic meaning that oxygen is needed to produce ATP. The process is quite slow but it produces a ton of ATP
.
When one system is dominating it doesn’t mean the other ones shut off. They continue to operate back stage so to speak

Give it 100% everyday. You will see results in no time. I use to let a lot of reasons/excuses hold me back. Mainly all rooted in insecurity. One of them being, not having cute workout clothes. It’s OK if you don’t have the latest running shoe or the cute leggings. Both my shirt and sweat pants are from Walmart. I’m not at the gym to look pretty, I’m here to get sweaty and become stronger. We can dress up later. Not saying, you can’t be cute to the gym. Just saying doesn’t have to be an excuse for not going to the gym. Speaking to myself here. :-) So here I am, killed it. Now I’m ready to go work my evening shift. 🏃🏽‍♀️ 💪🏼

I’m back, y’all. After two weeks of not tracking my calories and not being in a calorific deficit, I have only one things to say: I miss the life I’ve built. I’m back to my healthy eating and exercise routine. Starting in a couple weeks, I have a new work schedule that allows me so much extra time to dedicate to losing weight. I have 50 lbs to go to hit my goal weight. That seems like such a small number after -100 lbs! I kicked off today with Zumba this morning and I’m spending my last night of freedom before the work week starts meal prepping. I can feel it in my soul that 2020 is going to be the year I reach a healthy weight for the first time in my life. 💛

Tonight we made this wonderful creation with the kids & I could be the normal ‘Emily’ that sits at the table and watches everyone else enjoy & then have my treat plate later on. -
But today’s been 💩 and I didn’t want to do that. So guess what I didn’t. I ate some and it tasted incredible. It tasted worth it. It tasted like it should do. It was guilt free. It was I don’t care what the calorie content of this is. Because it was enjoyed sat at the table with all 3 babies my husband and their smiles and excitement. -
So today after it being a supper 💩💩 day, I’m just going to relax. It’s nearly bedtime for the kids & love actually downloaded on the telebox 🥰 -

Honestly? I don’t have anything inspirational to share.

I just took this photo as I’m sitting at home, filling my Friday night with christmas movies and snacks, wearing pj’s and no makeup.

But that’s just how this weeks been, and that’s just how it is sometimes.
My workouts have been mediocre.
My nutrition has been close to crap.
My relationship with food is starting to really effect me again as my current schedule doesn’t support where I need to be.
My motivation has been low.
My energy levels are easily burnt out.

And it’s all in my control, as these things are down to one area of my life that needs some change, and that’s exactly what I’m currently trying to do.

I’m absolutely not complaining about my current state, but I don’t feel that I’m thriving in a way I know I potentially can.

And it took me to go through a tough time to realize this, which is why I want to stress about the importance of listening to yourself.

Listen to your mind when it needs rest.
Listen to your heart when it needs love.
Listen to your body when it needs time.

Listen to your whole being, with your whole self.

You deserve nothing less. 💛🌻✨

1 large regular potato + 1 large sweet potato cut thinly then coated with 2 tbsp of avocado oil + 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder + sprinkle of salt and pepper on top! Preheat air fryer to 400F and fry for 10 mins, flip, fry 10 more. You may have to do two batches depending on the size of your air fryer! Or your soon to be new air fryer 😜😎 Happy Fry-yay (literally 😂)
