I’ve spent this morning in bed soaking up all the amazing wisdom in this book! I feel it should be a gift to every pregnant women! Such an incredible wealth of information about how we should be resting and cared for after birth, not forced to bounce back to our pre-baby selves so quickly! It talks about caring for a new mother as if she was as fragile as a new born! I think it’s so important to honour the transition into motherhood and give women the time they need to heal and revitalise! 🙏🏻✨🧘🏼‍♀️🤱🏼🍵💗

We can all fall into the habit of asking people generic questions, and at a minimum that is important. However, how good does it feel when someone asks you a question or comments on something that you told them? Next time you see a friend or colleague make a personal connection by learning about them or using specifics to check in. Feeling seen and understood matters, it could make a persons day.

If you realize you have been living an interchangeable lifestyle and know it is in your right mind to make a change, then pursue it and you will begin to see how contagious growth actually is.

Staying in a stagnant state of mind is not healthy for our brains and overall well-being. Providing more stimulus to our minds will help keep the mental network growing, allowing us to gain more potential. Physical activity provides mental stimulation by producing growth factors, blood vessels, and new brain cells. Other mental and emotional benefits by adding in physical activity include creating a sharper memory and thinking, more energy, boosting inner self-esteem, better sleep, and helps develop a stronger resilience when faced with mental or emotional challenges in life.

Know that you do not need to devote hours to making a physical change in your life, but even a little bit of activity is better than doing nothing. Your mind and body will benefit long-term.

Clearly hydration is a good habit for me! 😂
A client asked if it was important to hydrate before therapy (I’m always reminding to hydrate after to clear away released toxins). I thought it was a great question. Clearly, yes! I wouldn’t want to go into a treatment dehydrated... but I also don’t want to be needing a wee break mid session! So the answer is obvious - we need to always hydrate well, in a balanced consistent way so our body knows it’s not about to run out of fluids. And yes after a treatment you may find you are more thirsty so please follow that feeling. I know many of you have learnt this lesson the hard way! 😘

Getting up close and personal.
I imaged writing this post much differently. I thought I was going to give a list of foods I ate + supplements I took or fancy treatments I did in order for my skin to transform. But this story has a different ending.

I sit here and write this never thinking my deepest insecurity would turn out to be my greatest blessing. My skin has taught me more about myself than any book, course or person ever has.

I’ve never shared my skin story because I was straight up to scared. This journey has been a rocky one, it’s challenged me, had me spending 1000’s of dollars, it’s lead to eating disorders and other chronic conditions and when I say I tried everything under the sun. I truly did! But after years of struggling with my skin I’ve finally reach a point where I’m ready to write it all down and completely open up. (Full blog post to come)

The point of this post is to share that this journey was and still is bigger than matter trying to change matter. (Aka diet, supplements, protocols, facial treatments). This journey was a personal reality CHANGE.

After trying all the “things” I knew if I was ever going to have clear skin, truly find myself, and heal my body, I needed to create a new personal reality.
I had to start thinking about what I had been thinking about and change it.

I started to become aware and notice subconscious habits and behaviours that had lead me to the same experiences, (horrible skin reactions, breakouts, hives, missing period, chronic fatigue, orthorexia, vertigo....), that were creating the same unwell emotions, (anxious, guilt, fear, sadness), these emotions keep reaffirming the same identity.

I came to a point where I know longer wanted to act and choose in the same way. I literally had no other choice than to began to think outside the box and create new brain sequences, new patterns and make my brain work differently... I began to believe in a future I couldn’t see or touch or feel (insert meditation and #themindfultime practice)...That is when true healing happened.

The work wasn’t controlling the food I was eating or adding in 10 more supplements. Continue in comments...

Getting up close and personal. 
I imaged writing this post much differently. I thought I was going to give a list of foods I ate + supplements I took or fancy treatments I did in order for my skin to transform. But this story has a different ending.

I sit here and write this never thinking my deepest insecurity would turn out to be my greatest blessing. My skin has taught me more about myself than any book, course or person ever has.

I’ve never shared my skin story because I was straight up to scared. This journey has been a rocky one, it’s challenged me, had me spending 1000’s of dollars, it’s lead to eating disorders and other chronic conditions and when I say I tried everything under the sun. I truly did! But after years of struggling with my skin I’ve finally reach a point where I’m ready to write it all down and completely open up. (Full blog post to come)

The point of this post is to share that this journey was and still is bigger than matter trying to change matter. (Aka diet, supplements, protocols, facial treatments). This journey was a personal reality CHANGE.

After trying all the “things” I knew if I was ever going to have clear skin, truly find myself, and heal my body, I needed to create a new personal reality. 
I had to start thinking about what I had been thinking about and change it.

'It feels good that means it's good!'

Anxiety example. 'I feel anxious, this is an indicator that what ever I am doing isn't good, I predict this situation will turn out not good also. I feel completely overwhelmed.'😣
'When I'm happy this is amazing! This is overwhelimg too, how long will this last?'

* I am governed by my emotions. I can predict the future.

🌱FAITHFULLY | 'I have faith that what will be will be. If it doesn't go as if liked, I am disappointed faith didnt make it happen'.
(Faith, many consider to be a religious word but it's a DOING word, take a risk with faith or play it safe)
.
Anxiety. Example 'faith will get me through this, I am not in control of this. 'Ah I feel anxious still, why?'
.
*I am not in control of the outcomes. The future will be what it will be.
.
🌱FACTFULLY | Or 'I'm not sure how things will turn out, I can't guess that but the fact is I'm DOING everything I can to make what I want my life to be!'

Anxiety example.
'I'm feeling some anxiety, what can I do to help? Look at what I've been choosing lately & my environment to find the causes. Actively look & action what I have learnt to calm my body. Make a plan to tackle the causes & action them. Journal my feelings, speak to a friend'.
.
*I am in control of my actions, I am in charge of what I do about a situation. I can or predict the future but I can do what I can to help myself be prepared for any future.
.
🌱ONCE you become aware of your perception, by looking at anxiety in different ways, getting more information & insight, this will help you to understand which one may be more HELPFUL to you. You choose.

At times we can end up being our own worst enemies from the thoughts that we think that leave us feeling stressed, worried and anxious. How many times have you spent so much time in your mind worried and anxious about something that was going to happen for it then to never actually happen? and you spent so much time worrying for no reason!!... Here's a tip - choose to think positive thoughts with wonderful possible outcomes so that the movie of thoughts in your mind is something that you actually enjoy watching. Practice makes perfect. No more destructive, distracting thoughts. 💪🏽

A few weeks back I remember having a conversation with my therapist about how annoyed I was with myself because I was feeling like I needed other people to help me feel better. In the clearer headspace that I’m in now, I can roll my eyes at that notion but at the time I really felt like I was letting my independent self down. My therapist’s response was similar to what I’ve written above. Sometimes it’s okay to need people and ask for their support. It doesn’t make you any less capable and it doesn’t make you any less independent.
