My amazing wife @toddsley has been an absolute rock through the huge amount of training I’ve done for this event.. 12-18 hours per week for months, it’s really taken over things at home but it’s been so worth it. The feeling of smashing my personal goals is unbeatable. It’s important to chase your own goals though, don’t compare yourself to others  or become obsessed with trying to beat other people. You can only beat yourself really, why compare yourself to someone ten years older or younger, with a different life history, different pressures and stresses.. Don’t forget, comparison is the thief of joy.. For me now, it’s time to catch up a bit at home whilst planning the next goal!

    In my new book The Inflammation Spectrum I talk a lot about how to use food to calm inflammation but I also explain that it’s not just about food. One of the many non-food, lifestyle tools I teach my patients around the world and in the book is something called Shinrin-yoku. This is a term that means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and has become a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Researchers primarily in Japan and South Korea have established a robust body of scientific literature on the health benefits of spending time under the canopy of a living forest. Now their research is helping to establish shinrin-yoku and forest therapy throughout the world. .
The idea is simple: if a person simply visits a natural area and walks in a relaxed way there are calming, rejuvenating and restorative benefits to be achieved. .
We have always known this intuitively. But in the past several decades there have been many scientific studies that are demonstrating the mechanisms behind the healing effects of simply being in wild and natural areas. For example, many trees give off organic compounds that support our NK (natural killer) cells that are part of our immune system's way of fighting cancer.
The science on forest bathing  is really exciting. The benefits of Shinrin-yoku include lowered inflammation, improved brain, better energy, improved sleep, function and balanced immune system .

Игры Афродиты, которые состоятся в эти выходные на Кипре подведут отчетную-контрольную линию, ведь после АG 2018 Виталя стал тренироваться с тренером. Каждому тренеру-выступающему атлету- нужен свой тренер! Как бы это странно не звучало, но взгляд со стороны, себя не пожалеешь, ответственность-даёт свои плоды. Какие? Узнаем уже в это воскресенье.

    ¡Amas las legumbres! Dale un giro y prepara estas deliciosa receta de Croqueta de Lentejas

Para hacerla vas a necesitar:
.
🥢400 gr. de lentejas cocidas
🥢100 gr. de cebolla
🥢1 pimentón
🥢1 diente de ajo
🥢2 huevos
🥢 Orégano 🥢200 gr. de pan rallado .
Para prepararlas
.
* Toma las lentejas y trituralas  con el diente de ajo picado. Coloca un poco de orégano, raya el pimentón y la cebolla.. Coloca la sal, la pimienta y el pan rayado y mezcla hasta que quede una masa compacta. * En un recipiente, bate los huevos y reserva. Arma las croquetas con la ayuda de dos cucharillas, pásalas por el huevo y un poco mas de pan rallado. * Lleva al horno a 150° por 20 min o hasta que el pan tome un poco de color.

Sirve las croquetas con un poco de ensaladas o puedes agregar un poco de salsa y acompañarlas con una pieza de pollo o carne.

    So, as some of you saw in my stories, my “I didn’t feel a thing; that felt great!” leg workout yesterday morphed into “omg why do I have to wake up stairs to get to my office.” Lesson learned #1.

“What’s lesson learned #2?” you ask. Turns out that holding dumbbells ABOVE your head for walking lunges and Bulgarian split squats make for some sore shoulders the next day. Aaaannnd today was shoulder/back day at the gym so that was fun!

I also got a 45-min pop ride and a 10-min cool down ride in this am. I only cursed at my sore legs once or twice, and I was very grateful for the cool down!

Rains have started ahead of the storm and schools have a half day tomorrow and a day off on Thursday. Doesn’t look like it will be too bad, but we’ve got water, coolers for the food, and wine just in case! -

    I got rid of all my money 
In fact, I try to get rid of all my money every month. Its one of the best things I've ever done for my overall money situation.

Just like going for broke in a workout, the same applies to your money.

Now to explain, I'm not saying spend all your money every month.

The concept is as simple as paying yourself first.

Every month I take certain percentages that I earn into specific places.

I have immediate access, or very liquid

Semi- liquid, more long term but still accessible

And never touch, not liquid at all.

The point is, I try to keep as small amount of money in my check as possible and make sure I'm pushing my money to things that will grow me and my long term goals.

Now that doesnt mean that I cut tons of stuff out of my budget or eat ramen for dinner.

I just figured out how to prioritize and execute on a few simple things that work

Using this method has helped me pay off over 25k in debt in 3 years, consistently save 15% and invest another 15% every month.

It's all about framing your perspective on saving and investing that dictates your ability to act accordingly.

In setting up your personal money system this way, it's like going to the gym every day no matter the circumstances.

The first 2-3 months you wont notice much difference, maybe not even for 6 months. But stack 2-3 years into it and you'll be shocked at the level your financial health will reach

When setting up your budget, think about what percentages you want to be saving/investing then start doing automatic transfers to push you closer to your goals
