@Brandonwoelfel here! Blue is without a doubt a color that I'm constantly drawn to when creating. Symbolizing imagination, strength and security... it's always been a common theme throughout my work. Nonetheless, I often find myself shooting images that involve bold, bright colors, keeping in mind that I can always modify the hues in #Photoshop. That's exactly what I did here!

Hi, it’s @Brandonwoelfel! I’m excited to share this photo with you all today of my furry friend. 🐱 Are you a cat or a dog person?
•
Animals are definitely not the easiest to take photos of, but you always have to be up for a challenge when it comes to creating! After distracting this kitten with some toys, I threw the raw image into #Photoshop and utilized the Patch tool & Content-Aware capabilities to remove the string she had her eyes locked on. 👀

Check out our Instagram Stories for a tap to edit of this photo and a really cute cat video (if you’re into that kind of thing)!

Hi, @Brandonwoelfel here to share another image with you all! I took a stab at waterbending and this was the result! 💧
•
When it comes to creating any kind of art, I absolutely love connecting with others to collaborate on ideas! Once my friend and I established a pretty concrete concept for this shoot, we headed down to a nearby beach at sunset. After tossing this jug of seawater COUNTLESS times, I imported my favorite select into #Photoshop for some much-needed post-processing. I enhanced the lighting & colors in Camera Raw, cropped inwards and liquified the water to create a more uniform shape.

Hey again, @Brandonwoelfel here for my second day of the #Photoshop takeover! Whenever I’m feeling super inspired and lack other subjects to shoot, I simply use myself as the model! Using pillows as a tripod and a variety of external light sources around my room, I then took this image into #Photoshop to really make it come to life. Selective Color & Gradient Maps made all the difference in exaggerating some of those existing hues. 🌙

Hey everyone, it’s @Brandonwoelfel here! I’m a full-time freelance photographer from New York and I’m SUPER excited to be taking over the #Photoshop Instagram this week!
•
Loving all things art-related from an early age, everything just felt right when I introduced Photoshop into the mix. My favorite images seem to arrive from natural improvisation that plays off the subject I’m shooting and the endless amount of post-processing options there are to play with. I’m drawn to vibrant color palettes and enchanting compositions that leave the viewer creating their own story. Stay tuned for more images I’ll be sharing throughout the week. 🎡✨

Hi everyone, it’s @memyselfandsteph_, bringing you this month’s #Ps_Swipe tutorial! Swipe through to see how I created this image.⠀
•⠀
First, I created a layer mask on my background image, then I used the Rectangular Marquee tool and Paint Bucket tool to color the area black (a non-destructive erasing method).
•⠀
I then added the next layer and double-clicked to change the blending options. If you hold the Option key on Mac or the Alt key on Windows as you press the black and white sliders on this layer, you can separate them for a much smoother blend of the two layers.⠀
•⠀
Next, I added in the moon and used the Eyedropper tool to find one of its lighter colors. I then created an extra layer and chose a soft round brush with low opacity to create the glow. I started with my brush size being the same as the moon’s size, and then I gradually made my brush larger and larger, only clicking once with each new size.⠀
•⠀
Then I added in myself and a stock image of a mermaid’s tail. I used the Quick Selection tool to get the outline of the tail. Once I had that, I placed a stock image of a fish inside the outline and erased everything outside it. I went to Edit > Puppet Warp to adjust the tail, and I used the Clone Stamp tool with low opacity on my skin.⠀
•⠀
I then used the Polygonal Lasso tool to select the half of the tail that was underwater. I duplicated the layer and erased it from the first layer. I then lowered the opacity of the new layer slightly to make it look underwater.⠀
•⠀
Next, I used the Polygonal Lasso tool to select part of the rock. I created a new layer via copy and placed it under my hand.⠀
•⠀
After that, I just needed to add the props (bird and starfish), use curves to blend the colors and tones, and Burn and Dodge everything to give it a flawless look.
