    The Triathlon season has more or less finished in the UK. For some, 2019 might of been ‘their year’ for others a ‘year to forget’. Either way, the off season provides an opportunity to reflect on performance and start to plan for the coming year.

Reflecting on your season is important for both the athlete and coach. For both, it’s a learning experience which will enhance their relationship and thus optimising performance. ————-
At this time of year it may be a good idea to consider what 2020 might look like. What are your goals/objectives? What does future success look like?

Training wise, the off season allows you to do alternative training and to really focus on those weaknesses without the pressures of your in-season phase. Additionally, you can think about improving on 2019 and setting the foundations for a better 2020. —————
Lastly, remember the training process is a journey far longer than your actual race. Enjoy that journey!!! Coach Ben Leach is an accredited Strength & Conditioning Coach (ASCC) within the UKSCA, British Triathlon Coach and Coach Educator. He delivers strength & conditioning CPD courses for qualified triathlon coaches. In addition to his S&C & Triathlon coaching, he is a full time Soldier within the British Army. He Currently serves within the Royal Army Physical Training Corps (RAPTC) as an Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor.
